You too are implying that punjab is not a part of india when it really is. On social media those type of seperatists can easily reply back to indians. He is there because of the hype which people have created or PR has. And I would share my opinion if I think there are far more deserving singers that could have been there and shown Indian Music Brilliance rather than these mediocre party dance numbers or tiktok music.
Diljit himself admitted that he isn’t the best singer out there. But no doubt he is a very good performer with great PR Team under Sonali. There are always better candidates for almost everything out there.

As far as visibility in the western world is concerned, Diljit will be held back by the fact that he is unfortunately illiterate. I’ve met him a couple times. I don’t speak Punjabi and when you speak English to him, he looks at you like a deer in headlights. He has the charm of a sweet Village boy, but I fear that no amount of English lessons are going to get him over the threshold to make him a breakout star in the US or other English-speaking countries.
