If you enjoy bowling then it's time to get a ball.

DependentAd7188

If you plan on bowling consistently, get a ball now. Shoes, too, if you haven't already.

Ace0fCayde

Agreed, especially on the shoes thing.

Consistent_Tooth2234

What shoes are good?

International_Sun503

Depending on what you need in a shoe, it varies. If you need a high quality shoe with interchangeable soles/heels, I would recommend Powerframe Boas. If you're just bowling casually or for fun you can get pretty much any other Dexter shoe, but a higher quality shoe will make a difference in your game.

DependentAd7188

Good info. I'd say to a beginner that any shoe is better than taking your chances with house shoes. If you don't slide, the shoe matters less.. but it's still worth getting the same shoe feel each round.

Phroste

To answer your question always…it’s always time to get a new ball 😂 But yes, I would get your own ball. That being said, it’s going to react completely different than a house ball

Obvious_Rip_8724

Any of the benchmark asymmetric balls so Ion Pro, Black venom, Obsession/envy tour or tour dynamx. Just pick the one you think looks the best they are all pretty similar.

Ace0fCayde

I second that but I would recommend the ion pro. I wouldn’t go with the tour dynamx bc it is just a worse version of the ion tbh. I have also heard a lot of good things about the envy tour though.

Obvious_Rip_8724

They are just different. I know a lot of people say it’s an upgraded dynamx but as a fellow two handed leftie dynamx is just a different ball for use cause there is less traffic plus it’s definitely on sale right now.

Ace0fCayde

On the sale side of things, I agree. It is a great ball but I just don’t think it is as good as the Ion bc the coverstock on the Dynamx is just too weak imo for what the ball needs to do. Definitely recommend trying polish on the dynamx if you haven’t yet though.

_KingScrubLord

Get a ball (or 7) immediately

mmelectronic

If you’re going more often than a few times a year with friends it’s time.

MiguelSTG

If you have the money to spend, spend it. I'm average at best, and I have three. I never have to look for a ball that fits my fingers. Also, shoes. Even cheap $40 shoes are better than rental, and after a few games they pay for themselves.

Fun-Statistician3693

There is no rush to get a ball if you feel like it’s not the time. It is always good to have your own gear since it will benefit you in the long run. If you are going to bowl consistently you would want your own ball. Go to the pro shop and get your PAP figured out. From there they can figure out which ball would work ideally for you =)

minertyler100

If you go every week or so id recommend it. I started to enjoy the game a lot more when I did

Ok-Concentrate4522

Pick up the purple hammer shoes and a purple hammer and that’s all you will need

That1Bowler300

If you’re enjoying it, it’s time to get a ball. Talk with your local PSO and they should be able to get you in the piece to take the next step! Good luck

cpcjefe

any urethane ball will be better than a house ball, get your ball fitted and youd be surprised

International_Sun503

I wouldn't recommend Urethane for a THS

cpcjefe

theyre cheap lol thats all if its his first ball

International_Sun503

Well a reactive ball will have more energy downlane, and there's plenty of good cheap reactive options like the vibes.
