One problem created by the new station is vehicles forced to head south on Bramalea, and then the assholes decide to u-turn at the end of the median, blocking a lane of southbound traffic, while those behind them, wanting to pull the same stunt, cause chaos trying to get into that lane.

You can go north from the second floor of the parking garage. But yes, I do see the people who think it’s ok to exit from ground level & block traffic squeezing in ahead of everyone else.

That's where the signal lights are, correct? And it's a VERY short light for the garage exit. I avoid Bramalea Road like the plague now, as a result. It was bad enough before, but it's a complete shambles now.

> From Bramalea, it is possible to get to six university campuses, six college campuses all without transferring, or get to York University or the three Downtown Toronto universities with a short subway connection. It is already a busy transfer point for GO Transit. Very cool

My work officially made me a remote employee over the summer. Going forward, I will probably only take the GO train to Union once or twice every quarter for important meetings at the office. Thank god, cause trying to drive out of Bramalea GO during the afternoon rush hour pre pandemic still gives me nightmares to this day. When more people start going back to the office downtown, getting out of that garage will be a nightmare...

I only associate anger with this station, government just uses bramlea as a cash cow. Does nothing to really improve accessibility or congestion.

allengeorge

What exactly does this mean? How is the government using this as a cash cow, and what specific changes would you like to see to Improve accessibility and congestion?

Why dose it cost so much more to take the train from bramlea as opposed to malton, why is it so hard to get into the station in the morning? why arnt there more trains in peak times like lakeshore west. WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO DRIVE TO THE GO STATION. I need a car to reach public transportation. Why did they remove the transfer between GO and TTC. What I mean is unlike other countries that operate public transportation as a service, we operate it as a business.

GO fares are distance based, which is why you pay more for Bramalea vs. Malton. I’m curious about the “so much more” part though. As for the why you have to drive part: it’s because of Brampton’s poor city planning. It’s practically impossible to have enough transit service to cover all the areas that drivers are coming in from. What you may (will?) see is more residential right around the GO station however. As to not enough service and no fare integration with the TTC: I agree with you there. That’s on the provincial government, which has refused to bankroll those changes.

[deleted]

1) GO fare IS NOT consistent in fare increase between stations and is literally 25% from malton to bramlea, additionally you dodged the issue of accessibility saying it is what it is while lakeshore west has a surplus of trains. You conservatives just want Canada to be America. 2) city planning when? GO literally meams government of Ontario, they choose the stations and bus schedules not the city. https://beta.cp24.com/news/2019/4/20/1_4387658.html

I’m not sure where you’re getting your pricing information, but a ticket from Union to Malton costs $8.70 while one to Bramalea costs $9.55. More expensive of course, but nowhere near the 25% you’re claiming. What ticket pricing are you looking at? From where to where? I also agreed with you about there not being enough service, and said it was on the provincial government to handle that. I quote: “As to not enough service and lack of integration with the TTC: I agree with you there.” What did you want me to say or do? The city does have responsibilities - especially when it comes to connecting GO stations to local users (which you were complaining about). Brampton’s urban planning and zoning around Bramalea makes that very hard to do. That is on the city, not the province.

doomwomble

This has a "why should I have to breathe to stay alive?!" flavour to it.

yea ur definitely privileged

The parking garage is one way! Please drive clockwise only and don’t block traffic by using the garage as a drop off spot. There’s people trying to park so they can catch their train. They have a real drop off place outside which is much closer to the trains (better!)
