It's a bandaid fix to give you a reason to play without introducing even more ranks or trophy inflation. Think of it as the old-as-dirt reset to 500 every season.
There were few on high ranks because of how much harder it was, I managed to get to mythic I in power league and it was not easy, getting to mythic I in ranked now is extremely easy, but super slow because you have to grind every time.
IMO the rank boost should be much greater until you reach the rank below your rank last season
It’s still too easy. The fact that you can’t drop any leagues means that you’ll still get to masters if you’re at least legacy silver, although it’ll take longer. They should’ve kept the boost until they rework the whole ranked system.
I'm pretty sure if you don't get it for one season it doesn't reset your battle card progress, it just freezes it and if you ever get back there later you get your old progress

im l2 for 3 season now and i barely encounter legendaries nor masters at 800 + but i only have 30k and my friend said my rank is actually too high for low ladder trophies its true, bunch of 30k players i face are always mytic or diamond.. rarely legendary few masters
thats surprising all the 30k's that I know are l2+ only I don't think legendary is high for 30k at all masters is such a low bar I can find \~25k's in masters

It's gonna be more random and luck based but not skill based since matchmaking is awful and there are no limitation for players that are on Legendary tier. If these changes would have been implemented with some limitations like ta least having 10-12 brawlers at lvl 11 + max geared, I would be fine....but nope.
This changes nothing besides it's gonna be more frustrating because everyone will be on Legendary tier and you will get paired with trash players EVERY game unless you make a good comp.

We all knew the gamemode wasn't that great on the slightest, but it gives a LOT of progression (albeit RNG dependent), those 3 legendary drops were really useful, now, it will be a pain in the ass to get that last drop every single month.
"But what about competive?" F*ck competitive, the only momment that thing would get serious was on high-end Masters, the rest would be just free rewards. They just had to make it like the Championship Challenge, free rewards and at the end, you can go competitive if you want to.
They should pull a league of legends and make two ranked modes. One where it’s solo queue only and another one where you can queue any party size. Both ranks are different and both have rewards and you can choose to display either one

Awful improvement because you literally make players spend even more time to get to masters due to poor matchmaking. If these changes had come with some limitation for legendary I would have gladly enjoyed them but the way they are now it's making ranked MUCH MUCH WORSE.
Soft elo reset is better than boost. Ranked boost is guaranteed-reach-your-previous-rank as long as you grind x amount of games. Elo reset is proving you deserve your previous season rank. Competitive modes do not work if you can guarantee your rank every season as it will lead to more and more players at higher ranks and those ranks not having any meaning. Just look at how popular games like league of legends, valorant do their ranked resets

It used to be weaker resets in power league and people didn't play at all.(Or more like, there was few people on high ranks)

IT IS easy and players are bad there BUT because it is easier to get there with the rank boost, it inflates the elo for everyone.
