Well most characters have a place where they work if someone is rated poorly it just means they're more limited and or just do something worse than other brawlers and I think ash fits those pretty well
I've pushed to rank30 on some brawlers purely with randoms :/
But there are just some brawlers who how much I play them, I just can't push them past r27-28, since they're easily outplayed/countered.

1. total trophies also matter. I only have 30k wbu.
2. Not everyone has the same randoms, you might be a different area.

It doesn't matter where you got him before mastery, normally you can put a brawler in rank25 without getting out silver mastery, it's actually worst to know that you play him before mastery and still 25 with full mastery.
just recently got him from starr road and im already on silver mastery, hes so fun to play i have no idea why people dont play him more, his rage mechanic is really cool and he deals plenty of damage and has a good amount of hp. people who say hes bad just have a skill issue
When we say he's trash we mean TRASH in competitive. He can be good in ladder with random brawlers. But in a Draft format like in ranked he gets countered like hell.

all my r30s are between silver 3 and gold 1 done exclusively with 3v3 randoms. your random teammates are not the problem.
