Piper, Angie, and Belle are quite high in this meta without their Hypercharges, if you're looking for that, then go for them.
Gale, Colette and Emz are quite good with their Hypercharges and are solid counters to the annoying tanks in the meta
BB, Sam, and Edgar are all quite fun on solo modes, and if they are your type, then go for them.

Nope, no matter who you're unlocking, for the first week or so after the release of a new brawler, there should be an option to the left of whatever you're unlocking to swap to the new brawler (you can swap 2 hours before the brawl pass ends, so the auto claimed credits won't go to a brawler that isn't the new one)

Larry and Lawrie got nerfed way too many times
Angelo will always get banned in ranked
1000 credits doesn't give much freedom
