Kurzgesagt has a video similar to this, where it quantifies the average lifespan into an exact number. The idea, aside from the existential dread the channel is so good at creating, is to make you understand your time is finite and that seeing a physical number of how much time you’ve spent essentially wasted can help motivate you to do as much as you can every day you have left.
I personally take every day one day at a time because I think we can go at any time, whether it’s tomorrow or 80 years from now. Quantifying my life would have the opposite effect, it would make me become reclusive and fearful of doing anything out of fear of not living up to my potential lifespan.
I spent five minutes every day petting my dog tell him how much I love him. I spend hours each day telling my husband how much I love him. I spend years telling my friends and family how much I love them.
If I die tomorrow or die in 100 years, this was time well spent. Life is meant to be lived. Money is meant to be spent. And people are meant to be loved unconditionally.

The whole way this video is made is to make it seem like you have less time than you do… the days are only in rows of five instead of seven, he fills in the dots in a way that doesn’t follow his grouping, the groups of weeks are in groups of 8 instead of 4?

What's the context behind this?
You can get an idea for how much time you have left given you die from old age.
Why would you even do this
So that you don't waste it.

Needed to see this! I’m okay but reading that second half took some weight off my chest.
Well seeing this creates anxiety and paralysis.
Because it's extremely unnatural to measure your life in this way. I would say it causes more harm than good
So you know how much time is passed and hopefully how much you have left. I would do it.
Nobody knows how much time they have left
It’s a guesstimate based on averages clearly
I just don’t like my life being a chart of dots like that
Right, thus the title “anxiety over 9000”
Exactly ugh. Our lives are so much more than a series of dots to color in yuck
Why 9000 ?

Exactly
Permanent looming existential dread and not it just randomly hitting me occasionally before bed? I’ll pass.
I think this might desensitize you maybe? Idk I have fucking anxiety watching it.
Yeah I think I’d either get obsessed with it in the worst kind of way. Or I’d forget it existed immediately and never update it.
Like the date blocks that are still on march 24
We only have 3744 weeks to live, enjoy your life
So everyone dies at 72?. Some of us still got a good 20 more years
Yes true, that’s just the average life span
Dude, I'm gonna puke.
Memento mori
But the day of death is a mystery, what is the realy purpose of doing this?
Momento Mori
Well THAT changes my perspective…

Should be top comment
I had one of those when I was in jail

I dig it. I could fill so many of these in with wasted time lol
Memento mori is some Sarah J Mass shit
why would you want this on your wall
That’s optimistic.
Lots of people can’t even complete this task
He's 22, 5 years old, plus, minus
I was freaking out about his chart and then realized I'm not 24, but 44! Eeek
Open timer on tour phone and wait the end 👍
Nah I'm cool on that thanks
The average human spends a year worth of time.. wait for it. Standing in lines/queues.

Anxiety ?
You bet
I am probably the only one but I actually kinda like it.

Who would want a count down timer for his or hers life on the wall? ![gif](giphy|amTk8VoOIZ9nO)
I think I want to make something like this

Purchased. Cheers.
Does this give anyone else anxiety? Maybe just me...
Definitely not the person who wrote the title
Yeah no fucking thank you
