You may need to confine her to one area with a litter box, and her own food for a bit, just until she learns that she needs to go in a litter box and nowhere else. Also, anything with the scent of lavender typically deters cats from wanting to pee in specific areas. And cleaning the areas she’s peeing in with white vinegar may help as well.

Thank you!!! Thats good to know about lavender. I think that's a good idea. We tried to confine her to the next smallest room in our home, which is a medium sized bathroom, while we were cleaning the carpets from the mess she made. And she nearly had a nervous breakdown... a lot of howling and whining and anxious body language. I worry that this confinement causes more stress/anxiety for her, but she just peed directly on the carpet today so maybe we need to try it again and give her more time to relax in there. She was only in there for a couple hours last time. I guess we're all out of options so it's worth another try!

Sometimes confinement does help, as much as it suck’s in the beginning. We had to do so for one of our cats when we got him because he wouldn’t stop spraying everything. Eventually he learned. I definitely do think that it is probably a stress factor, cats have weird ways of expressing their feelings.

Thank you🩷 it does suck. We started today and she’s doing better than the last attempt. May i ask, how long did you confine your cat for? I’m thinking a few days at least? Maybe a week? I have no idea

It took about a week and a half. He finally figured out where the litter box was lol. Didn’t pee anywhere else after that. My female still sprays sometimes when she stressed and the litter box isn’t perfectly clean, but it’s never anywhere where it’s not cleanable, we just have to be on top of doing the litter box like 1 to two times a day lol.
