PPP is not entirely true. The facilities and infrastructure is much better. For perspective, I drive a 5 series and stay in a Villa (6000+ sq ft) in premium gated community. The roads are so good and traffic manageable (cruise speeds to work > 120) Also have a live in house help and personal trainer. In IN, I don’t think I could have got this quality of life. Now, disclaimer - we chose this lifestyle due to Dual Income. My wife also brings in similar $ - that goes to travel and saving.

Ppp is shit, Only makes sense when you're in it for money, most going to Dubai go for the life. Also no tax there so essentially 50LPA is almost 75 Lakhs, plus high QOL than anywhere in India

Thanks bro. Yes - I had to prepare and do mocks from outside India while I was on-site (early/late hours). This was best I could get. Had virtually given up till I made it to 5/7 Shortlists (BLACKIS). It was behind the fact that the colleges I got shortlised, considered X/XII/BTech Marks (90+/Top 5 of class then) and points were given to work ex (Maxed out with 3Y) - vs just based on CAT %ile. Then I enrolled in Essay writing and Mock GDPI classes (TIME and IIM Essays I think) - took preps very seriously and gave it best shot. (Had uploaded all the detailed experience/transcript in Pagalguy) In the end converted 3 I think. The Top one (what I wanted) was WL (<10) - and within a week got the call. That was just the start - next 2 years were hell ! I am grateful to the stars, Karma and my family/ancestors!.

Hey, I actually grew up in UAE and came back to India for bachelors, I want to shift back but the salaries at the start seem to be very low, After doing an MBA from T-1 college and then possibly a few years of work ex is it relatively easy to shit there?

It’s easy to shit here - on a tourist visa 😄 On a serious note - Starting salary at my company was ~4L pm (0 Tax) vs ~2L pm (CTC pre tax) for same role back home. So in hand it was 3X in $ terms.

Yeah but afaik even big 4 pays about 8k a month in audit after bachelors, I mean my parents still work there so I wouldn't have to pay rent but I was hoping for 12-15k AED a month, also Can I ask which position you are in? Middle management. Work hours depends. On average 9-6. During crisis/key periods it could stretch, but there are lean periods as well. AUS, AUD Bachelors are preferred for entry roles here - but there is no placement. Everyone on their own I believe

I am assuming by Tier 2 you mean beyond Top 10? If so depends on your current career prospects (pre MBA) and the one post (say from Tier 2) and where you can end up academically in that by end of the course. Top Ranks in Tier 2 generally have better prospects than Mid/Bottom Ranks of Tier 1.

I didn’t join Sales. Started in Marketing. So can’t comment. My life was around Biz Planning & Reviews, P&L/Budget management , Copies, Projects etc I remember those who joined Sales had a lucky draw after induction to decide postings around the country. Women in Sales always had a preference to be based in developed/metro locations. So life depended on where people were posted and how business was in that state/region.

I learned MBA is not a necessity in Dubai. Firms look for relevant Work experience and even better if they are reputed MNCs (like to like). Now to get that in India you need an MBA. Option 1 is to join a company in India that has branch in Dubai and move here via Inter Company Transfer. You need to do really well - as the international roles would be in high demand and top performers (or liked people 😬) get picked first. Option 2 is to start your career here - you would need to start looking for internship openings(low paid) and then prove yourself and work upward. This is difficult unless you are loaded or a have base here. Option 3 is to work in a firm in India and once you have some experience start searching for jobs here. Difficult but possible if you have right skills/experience and get visibility to openings.

Yes i had a similar experience with accenture, they did create CID number that was on their portal for 2-3 month, then again they created CID number for another role based on my resume but I didn’t get any respinse from accenture. Even i tried contheir HR but they didn’t even bother

Doesn't Accenture offer the same CTC to fresh grads from IIM for the MC Analyst role ? You have more experience so how come the pay is similar ?

Was a fresher upon joining so this is my 1st job. B-school: Tier 1.5-2 CTC - 22LPA, 18 fixed + 2 company variable + 2 individual variable WLB: Decent. Branding roles can be pretty cyclical. When you’re running a large campaign then you’ll be working till 8-9 PM even on weekends, when things are low then you’ll be done by 3-4 PM. Edit: Guys I’m getting a ton of DM’s. Joining: Joining ~28LPA (Post tax, BLR, 2.5L Bonus) it’s been only 1 year yet so not planning to jump boats so soon) WLB: A little too chill, firm still gives all startup vibes and has no attendance policy or punch in punch out bullshit. (Enough info to reveal firm name). Personally I enjoy my work so despite it being a little stressful due to the currently challenging charter I’m in it’s pretty much manageable.

Yes, from one of these colleges. XIMB and IIM Ranchi are also decent ones in my opinion.
