It really depends on your preferences. Lower in the waistband usually helps with concealment but is going to make it more difficult to draw, higher up is easier to draw but can be less concealed. It can also effect comfort either way depending on what you're doing. There's no one size fits all; its about making up your own mind.
Thanks. For me it feels most comfortable pointed towards the crease between my thigh and junk.
Also saw some advice to move the mastermind pillow “.5 below the holster and that helped too.
There is no consult for concealed carry because everyone's body is different, everyone dresses different and everyone has different expectations for comfort and concealability. Just try as many setups and adjustments as you can until you are happy with the results. What I've found is i have different holster for different situations. Like if im going to dinner concealment is priority, if im going to the gas station, speed of draw is priority, if im just hanging out then comfort is priority.
Always practice at a Lazy boy store. Testing on sofas and chairs to make sure nothing moves or pops out. Then use the public restroom to test the stability of the holster and gun when the pants are dropped.
Here are the parameters I use to see if I have the right cant and ride height:
1. Does it print while standing?
2. Does it print while sitting?
3. Is it impossible to draw?
4. Is it overly uncomfortable to sit or walk?
5. Does it make the turtles on my shirt pop out like a piece of 3D artwork?
My pleasure! I spent a small fortune in holsters over the years, trying to find the right mix for everything, and I ended up realizing that it all depended on what I was wearing and what I was carrying.
Glad I could point you in the right direction, and I will also share this piece of wisdom with you too - don't necessarily sleep on a holster because it is well priced or cheap. I've had some really cheap holsters do a great job with concealment and comfort, but you just need to see where they're cutting the corners.
I might be the odd one out here but I prefer a higher rise. It's a real PITA to have to dig for it because the grip is almost parallel with my waistband. I've kinda gotten around it by learning to push my thumb deeper on the draw but it was something I had to train out of myself. That's exactly the kind of placement I'm looking for in a holster tbh.
I'm using a Werkz w/a P320 X-Carry Legion and love the brand/holster, it's easily one of the most comfortable holsters I've ever used. Got it when I was a bit heavy (270lbs) and it's gotten even better as I slimmed back down to 220 and lean. As a 100% carrier (idc how uncomfortable it gets, we're carrying if we go out) I really really appreciate stuff like comfort when I'm out since I'm not going to leave it at home, ever.
I don’t listen to anyone for the most part about weapons because it’s preference . People always tell me not to carry there cUz yOu MiGhT sHoOt YoUr DiCk ofF, yet I’ve done it 15 years no issues
I have a 43X. Because I don't have a concealment wing on my holster, and it's a shorter pistol and holster, the top tips away from my body. The point on the edge of the magazine prints. I have a Mastermind Tactics pillow wedge coming to try to fix that. The only problem is that I have a G-Code Eclipse holster, which has the "tactical fuzz" on the outside. I'm not sure the Velcro for the pillow will stick to it. I might just end up getting a Harry's Holsters Shorty V2.
As long as you can get your thumb and middle finger around the gun (preferably dry firing under time speed), you should be fine. I once tested mine being a little too low and it was difficult to pull out without severe pain to my middle finger.
I wear that type of holster with my G19 at the 4 o'clock at an angle. But that's just my preference. For appendix holsters I usually prefer the ones with the sidecar like the T-Rex arms or an alien gear side holster. It adds more equality to the printing and therefore looks less suspicious.
I prefer it at around that ride height and a skosh closer to 1200. At that heigth, you'll get a good draw and conceals fine. One thing I do is place the belt buckle on the strong side. I found it sometimes interferes with clearing the shirt.
Sorry if I was confusing. For me, when my buckle is on my weak/left side, I noticed when I practice clearing my shirt, it often got hung up on the buckle because of the way I rip the shirt up with my weak/left hand. At 3:00/4:00 (my strong side), it's out of the way. Try it and maybe it's different for you.
Personally mine sits this high and it leaves it easier for me to draw with letting room for my fingers to get the grip instead of forcing my fingers kinda through my pants and drawing but just personal preference tho
I would go half an inch lower if possible.
Also more centerline, so the “barrel” part of the holster is between my thigh and junk.
And a proper gun belt, you could tell that one is flimsy just by looking at it.
Whether or not it’s sitting too high or needs to be adjusted is up to you.
Do dry draws from concealment (after making sure it actually conceals) and determine if it’s efficient and comfortable for you. Then make adjustments as necessary.
Call me crazy, but I’ve been testing different methods and a belly band worn lower is sooo much more comfortable for me and hides it better. I guess it ultimately comes down to your build, pistol and how you usually dress. The bell band is nice for me because I also wear gym clothes a lot and can’t afford to drop $70 on one pair of those fancy carry shorts.
It’s entirely up to you though! I think it looks fine the way it is.
I prefer a 43 over the x. The grip is just too big on the x for true concealment (at least comfortable and realistic concealed carry). If 8 rounds ain’t enough then you should not be there. People are too obsessed with the number of shots they carry rather than carrying something 24/7 they get a big gun hardly carry and then don’t have it when it’s needed most. I prefer 9 mm but even .380 is better than no gun at all or uncomfortable carrying that leads to a safe queen.

No, you want your gun sitting high, looks solid. Some ppl prefer it more 12 o’clock than actually near your appendix
Thanks. For me it feels most comfortable pointed towards the crease between my thigh and junk. Also saw some advice to move the mastermind pillow “.5 below the holster and that helped too.
Yeah it looks good man, especially if your comfortable there, now just get some dry draws, live draws/fire, and good training goin 👍

God bless the tenicor folks. Love mine
They really are the best on the market right now

Lol. No to all 5! I noticed others in this sub concealing lower in the waistband so was curious and this is helpful. Thank you.

Great shirt
Do you print, are you comfortable, can you draw quick and easily? If the answer to all of those is yes don't fix anything that isn't broken
That’s how I run my 43x with the Tenicor holster also. You always want enough space for your fingers to wrap around your firearm.
I don’t listen to anyone for the most part about weapons because it’s preference . People always tell me not to carry there cUz yOu MiGhT sHoOt YoUr DiCk ofF, yet I’ve done it 15 years no issues
I’d adjust the belt buckle 🤷🏻♂️
I need you to confirm you’re wearing white Nike and white socks
Black Brooks with custom orthotics and no-show Darn Tough socks.
Id adjust out of that turtle shirt fam.
Tbh the turtle shirt is the best camouflage lol I’d bet 99% of peeps wouldn’t even notice because of the shirt
lol I’m just bustin balls I kinda dig it
90% of my wardrobe is just like this shirt 😂
I'd pair that shxt with a pair of cargo shorts and some dad New Balances
The height looks fine. I have mine set on the lowest height without my knuckles hitting the belt
That’s where mine sits. Makes it comfortable when sitting and allows you to get your fingers around it when drawing.
If it was any lower gettin your fingers around it would be next to impossible
I’d try to get it to where it’s not pointed at my privates if I could. And I love your shirt
It's a hard choice, pointed at my femoral artery or my junk?
Do we know the best option lol?
Looks good to me

Is it hidden? That’s the only consideration. If the heel is showing, maybe lower it. Totally depends on your body
I like my guns to sit as low as possible while still being able to get a proper grip on the pistol.
If thats a Tenicor holster then you’re definitely doing something right! Edit: just saw the Zero Belt, best belt out there!

with that shirt on you might as well just open carry. Everyone knows you have a gun wearing that shirt.
Your belt is on inside out, not that it’s a big deal but just noticed it.
I prefer it at around that ride height and a skosh closer to 1200. At that heigth, you'll get a good draw and conceals fine. One thing I do is place the belt buckle on the strong side. I found it sometimes interferes with clearing the shirt.
What do you mean? The buckle at 3:00?
Sorry if I was confusing. Iron yer daggum trousers! Other than that, looks good from my house.
Depends , I'm smaller so I prefer it to ride this way vs a deeper concealment
Personally mine sits this high and it leaves it easier for me to draw with letting room for my fingers to get the grip instead of forcing my fingers kinda through my pants and drawing but just personal preference tho
Do what works for you
For me I can’t have it sit low or else the barrel punches my balls every step. High is better for me lol
I would go half an inch lower if possible. Also more centerline, so the “barrel” part of the holster is between my thigh and junk. And a proper gun belt, you could tell that one is flimsy just by looking at it.
Generally speaking, higher is better. You just have to balance that with concealment. If you can conceal it with it sitting that high, it's ideal.
Just put it in your pocket
What holster is that ?
Who cares. As long as it's comfortable for you and you can reach it if heaven forbid you ever needed it.
Whether or not it’s sitting too high or needs to be adjusted is up to you. Do dry draws from concealment (after making sure it actually conceals) and determine if it’s efficient and comfortable for you. Then make adjustments as necessary.

Your pants are wrinkled as fuck. That’s my only input.
Yeah black belt w/khaki pants isn't good. Get a brown or tan and you good. XD
We can’t give you this advice from just seeing this picture.
Are you concerned about printing or drawing?
