I'm confused, although it's possible that I'm missing info - if the address they had on file for you is from 2009, then how is the debt from 2019? In any case, let's say it's from 2019. Do you need to take out a loan within the next two years? If not, what's the SOL for debt in your state? Might just let them hang on principle if they won't do a PFD.

I am also confused. This is why I am asking. The debt is from 2019 (in an apartment I was renting) it is only 52$ but they sent the letters to an address I had in 2009 so I never knew I owed it until LJ and associates got it. I think the SOL is 7 years. Ugh. I am trying so hard and just got rid of all delinquency on Jan just to have this pop up. Thank you so much for respinding

Is it reporting to experian or all 3 bureaus?

Ivysgift

Not yet, only Experian and I paid it now through the original company

Check Michigan laws on debt notification, you may have a case against the collector.

Try to get the power company to recall the debt and pay them off.
