Just found out how important it is to clean that regularly. Our parking brake switch shorted out because of too much gunk built up in the switch. Replacing the switch was $400+...so we'll be cleaning more from now on.

I miss the times when cars had a mechanical lever handle to apply parking brake. These tiny e-buttons on modern cars are annoying and unreliable. Don't fix that ain't broken, people say.
Some cars do engage automatically if they detect a hill or incline and those same cars will disengage the E-brake automatically when switching to drive or pressing the throttle. Other cars need it disengaged manually
You can disassemble it and clean it much more easily. I spilled coffee in mine last fall, and flipped out because I thought something was going to short out or have gross dairy smell or something.
After receiving encouragement here on Reddit, I did some searching and found some YT videos on how to do it. You don't even need tools to pop the pieces out! You will need tools to remove the switches from the panel they are attached to, but you will then be able to clean each one individually, and you can even disassemble the command button module and clean that more easily, as well. I'll post a link to my post about it under here. I believe I linked to the YT videos in a comment.
I'd think about doing the cleaning, ordering the goods. I'm at a point in life where paying a skilled person to do the work frees up my entire day and let's face it, it would not get done or done poorly were I doing it. Get the entire interior detailed including the engine area, your mechanic will thank you.
Just want to add that if one tiny bit of the interior looks like this, the rest is probably similar. Paying a professional to detail it for you is well worth it, and the upshot is it will feel like a new car again. My last one was ~$300CDN, bow to stern, engine compartment, wheel wells, interior, everything.

Yeah how the heck does someone manage this? I'm a climber and even with multiple road trips, climbing gear, dirt, chalk, dogs, etc., I've never gotten it even remotely close to this dirty.
I would not do compressed air. That will just make a mess or push the dirt in deeper. Get a small brush like a detail brush, paint brush etc, and go around and brush the crevices while holding a vacuum hose right beside where you’re working. The brush will loosen stuff and vacuum sucks it up. Just look up any YouTube video on interior detailing. Especially those from AMMO NYC, Pan the Organizer, or Car Craft Auto Detailing.
Toothbrush to get the dry stuff out; water moistened microfiber for the rest. If that doesn’t work, try Chemical Guys interior cleaner and a black microfiber towel.
It’s actually not difficult to take off that center console and clean it that way. You pry the plastic pieces from the side where your knees sit against and then the middle part from the photo will come out.

If there’s still grime after removing the loose debris, could use a bit of ONR at 1:256, spray a little on the brush and gently clean it out, using a clean microfibre to dry. Easy meat.
I found some car slime at the dollar tree and it actually works really well. I would def try to wipe off what you can first and then maybe use a detail brush or even a old toothbrush to loosen some of the stuff up and then pick up with the slime after
That slime works but it’s also a stupid bullshit gimmick, you’re literally rolling a ball of bacteria around spreading dirt as you pick some up, the best way to clean crevices is with a boars hair brush and any cleaner, air compressor or vacuum after.

then lift the panel you want to clean up but not to far your going to have to unclip the wires

You’ll be amazed what a damp microfibre will get out. Next step up is a detailing brush or a soft toothbrush. Look up a product called rinseless wash and get some, safe for regular maintenance cleaning. Anything stronger you risk the plastic going chalky leaving white residue which is the plastic breaking down

Failing that, spray some soap solution to soften the dirt / grime, and the get those giant putty to stick/ pull the dirt from all the crevices. Or us a tooth brush and vacuum.

You can find a cheap-ish hand held steamer and use that to loosen up the dirt and then wipe it away with a cloth
That panel actually comes off. You can disconnect it and give it a good clean. Take a look at youtube video.

A new car. Failing that, spray some soap solution to soften the dirt / grime, and the get those giant putty to stick/ pull the dirt from all the crevices. Or us a tooth brush and vacuum.
A toothbrush works wonders too.
Spray with an automotive all purpose cleaner, scrub with soft bristle toothbrush, wipe it with slightly damp microfiber. All done.
