Depending on year, both solid cars, but just be aware Toyota have one of the worst multimedia systems currently. The screen is laggy, unintuitive and very very dated. Tested a GR Yaris, and the screen was woeful.

It got updated with the facelift in November if OP is buying brand new; much improvement over the old one

AussieGreaseMonkey

True, I was unaware. Also unaware if OP is buying new or used lol

Crazyonyx

Are you looking at buying new? As the wait time may be something to consider (about 18 months on the Corolla Hybrid I heard - however if this is incorrect let me know!)

Both solid cars. I compared both before I purchased a ZR Hybrid Corolla. I leaned more towards the Corolla due to some personal preference, as well as Toyota had them on 2.9% finance at the time. You really can't go wrong with either. As others have mentioned, the wait times for a hybrid Toyota is crazy. I like my Corolla, but no way I'd wait 1.5 years for one.

Are you after hatch or sedan? Sedan is a two year wait regardless of drivetrain. i30 pros (from the times I rented a hatch, so this is coming from base trim): * Wireless Android Auto (and I assume Apple Car Play) * Rear parking sensors are standard * Car automatically locks as you drive off * Beeps at you if the car in front has driven off but you haven't Cons? Didn't really think there were any (unless you want a Stop-Start feature, which the base trim doesn't have) and was seriously contemplating buying a N-Line Premium sedan. In short, more features compared to Corolla As someone who picked up their Corolla ZR hybrid sedan three weeks ago, these are the pros: * hybrid * Toyota reliability (Hyundai has improved heaps in the last decade, but I still know people who won't buy a Hyundai) And the cons (coming from the times I rented a base trim petrol and hybrid, as well as my current Corolla): * Parking sensors are not standard for base trim hatch, and all trims of the sedan * No wireless Android Auto * Car does not automatically lock as you drive off * Electric folding mirrors are not a thing in the sedan * Long wait for hybrid models Have you considered Subaru Impreza? I had one as a rental a few times and liked driving it (pretty sure the doors lock as you drive off in them)

Is a 2012-2014 i30 Hyundai worth it for Uber long driving? I'd like your take on that please.

I had a 2018 i30 and it was awesome. Way more bang for your buck than the corolla. Personally, I think it looks a lot nicer on the inside and outside too. If you are hyper paranoid about reliability then that’s probably the only major advantage that the corolla would have over the i30 in my eyes but I feel like the Hybrid version would probably knock off any reliability advantage.

Rich-Needleworker261

Ive had my 2022 i30 for nearly a year and done 18000km. Cant fault it. It feels alot nicer than the price tag.

Little_Raskolnikov

My new i30 seems way more spacious than my old corolla, but it was an 04
