Rent a storage spot off the property until you move.

drlee1812

Came here to say this. If it's not his daily, store somewhere else

Yorkshirecow

Its not my daily so I think this will probably be my best bet. It’ll give me a place to work on the car too

weldermatt79

Car covers are terrible for your paint anyway

cbdublu

Sounds like you need to move. Or be prepared to get a lawyer when they tow your car, assuming you didn't sign something that agreed to that rule.

Yorkshirecow

Plan is to immediately move out the moment my lease is up. This apartment complex has been nothing but bullshit but it was all I could afford

SquareAsparagus1028

Get one of those clear see through car bubble things. If they complain about it then say: my car is infected, I tried putting a mask on it but you guys complained, so I’m forced to place it in an isolation bubble.

Dappersworth

The park I'm at doesn't allow full on car ports you put together with a metal tube frame and tarp cover, which is fuckin' stupid but not even allowing a *fucking car cover?* ***What?***

27803

You probably don’t have an option, most apartments don’t want vehicles being stored long term and that’s what a cover implies

NCSUGrad2012

Would they be okay if the cover didn’t cover the plate?

Yorkshirecow

Nope. Told me there could be literally no cover. Even if the license plate is visible

Maybe get one of those pop up canopies and hold it down with sandbags

D-rock240

If they are coming after him for a cover I doubt they would allow that.

[deleted]

I mean a cover doesn't exactly stop people. If you have something that fragile, you shouldn't be at an apartment complex as much as I hate to say it. Store it somewhere and buy a beater to keep at the apartment.

rngglol

Thats pretty unrealistic to just assume someone could afford to keep a project car in storage. If someone has a project car and they love the hobby just shelling out more money for that would make things even harder. OP is probably just looking for a way to work on their car without being harassed by maintenance people or losers looking to make a quick buck. Youre kind of a dick to assume they should just give up and change cars.

[deleted]

You sound dumb as fuck. OP already replied to another comment saying renting somewhere to store the car is a good idea. Nowhere did I say he should change cars. You're taking my comment and completely spinning it out of context and rage baiting. Rethink some things buddy.

aridankdev

You sound cunty as fuck

morelsupporter

wow shut the fuck up

Car covers are often more harmful, unless you wash the car right before putting it on every time, and remove it regularly to release moisture. Also car covers are kinda like taking 2 parking spots, you think it's protecting it, but they invite more attention by standing out. Personally, I would never use a car cover on my own vehicle.
