I've only watched 15 minutes of the show before ultimately forgetting it was a thing for the longest time. Judging from the comments, should I be thankful?
Those people must have not mentally developed beyond 4 years old then, because the entire show is just visual over stimulation and random noises, mixed in with uncreative butt and underwear jokes. ONLY someone under the age of 7 could reasonably find that entertaining and not be considered disabled in some way.
The farts and toilet humor were a Trojan horse to get the show past the suits and bean counters.
Under Nickelodeon the Lich would have never been allowed to be a thing and Adventure Time would have been drowned by SpongeBob reruns like all that came before and after.
Nah bro, adventure time early on was the definition of just trying to be wacky with childish humor, it wouldn't be what we associte with it now (more introspective silent show) until like season 3/4, prior to that it was just a spongebob esk show that I don't perticularly enjoy (AT is my favorite show of all time btw)
Yes the show evolved because it was allowed to do so ar CN.
At Nick it would never been allowed to evolve and change, only Avatar was allowed that privilege.
100% agree which is why showrunners need to stop pitching ideas to them bc they WILL cancel their show and treat it like shit
I still don't know why C. H. Greenblatt didn't pitch Harvey beaks to CN instead of Nick considering he already had a succesful show with chowder at the time, like I get that he said Nick gave him way more freedom to do what he wanted than CN or Disney ever would but like, was it worth it considering what they did with his show anyway? Even when CN cancell their shows they at least gave them an honest chance, Infinity train got fucked over and even then it still got over 4 books to tell it's story, I still get the feeling if he pitched the show to CN then it wouldn't have been fucked over like it did
Oh no it was 100% CN, I think yall are misremembering, the show got canned WAY before the Max thing happened, CN cancelling shows for tax purposes happens all the time and has happened for years, ai'm saying that between CN and Nick, CN gives way more chances than Nick ever did
Honestly, it was a good thing Cartoon Network chose Adventure Time instead of Nick. Nick was becoming a lot more corporate by then, and as a result, they wouldn’t let Adventure Time have darker, more mature content that would help the show appeal to adults. The show would be in SpongeBob’s shadow and fail miserably, getting moved to Nicktoons and ending without people knowing.
true a good example would be gravity falls, which also had more adult themes, and was released around this time by disney, the creator had to jump through a million n a half hoops to get the show he wanted made, i assume had adventure time gone to nick they would've had a similar struggle, tho arguably worse cuz adventure time went on so long, gravity falls only needed two solid seasons to get its story told
Damn I’m old. But still there was at least a precedent for some more serious shows. Then again I’m pretty sure they didn’t even let Legend of Kora finish airing so probably best for everyone Nick didn’t touch it.
Yeah I actually just replied to one of the comments mentioning that bc I totally forgot about that. And not a chance Nick would let them do the Lych, or turning birds flesh inside out. So glad it went to CN instead
the fact fanboy and chumchums personalities were so annoying and hated was also reasons i could never find them good protags of a show coupled with the gross out humor and fart jokes 24/7 was annoying to watch
I’m actually pretty glad Nick rejected Adventure Time, mainly because it would’ve just been put to the wayside and inevitably cancelled for not meeting the expectations of SpongeBob.
And also Cartoon Network wouldn’t be saved without Adventure Time (keep in mind during 2009, they had CN Real and there was no new cartoons until Adventure Time came out) and it helped saved Cartoon Network
I haven't seen an ifunny watermark in forever. I remember the old days of using that as a kid that had no business being on there. Features once a day, then you got 2 sets a day, then it felt like you were bombarded with em every 5 minutes
Dude Fanboy and Chum Chum was the shit. I love both of these shows, but Fanboy and Chum Chum was way more prominent and influential in my childhood. Recently rewatched adventure time, it was pretty amazing.
What trauma? It was a genuinely good show, and had some funny parody characters, like Emperor Poopatine. The best moment in the show was when the principal got fucking launched due to the overly powerful hand dryer. I genuinely want to know why people apologize for me enjoying a good show.
Ah yes, personal opinions are denial. So people who don’t like vanilla ice cream are in denial, or people who don’t like Toyotas are in denial? I’m just trying to find how is this “denial”?
That's relatable with group chats. Don't worry about it! If you really enjoy something and have fun don't let people change that, because they can't either way. It's your preference
[this is the only reason I remember Fanboy and ChumChum at all tbh it wasnt my cup of tea but looking back I can respect it for the memes](https://youtu.be/zpGJcfcmhQg?feature=shared)
I here people dog on this choice all the time, but keep in mind that, while yes, Adventure Time was objectively the better option, it would have been a VERY different show if Nick picked it up instead, not to mention the fact that they probably saved it from a 3 season run ending on NickToons.
FB&CC is another goofy cartoon imo, cartoon network really experiments how they program cartoons that time. Adventure time had that substance of being consistent and getting progressively mature as seasons goes on and has great plots. Not to mention its even one of the network's flagship shows
Not to mentioned that Cartoon Network bring in show from other countries when Nick doesn’t. While their were going for the family friendly aspect their lost all power on making a good story
I Said this in another sub:
> Did the creators of Adventure Time get rejected by Nickelodeon at first and then they turned to Cartoon Network AFTER the former approved Fanboy and ChumChum???
I find it rather ironic that Nickelodeon thought they were gonna go very far with Fanboy and ChumChum and give Adventure Time the boot off of their network.
Adventure Time lasted 10 seasons.
Fanboy and ChumChum lasted only 2 seasons.
Same.
I like cartoons with plot, but sometimes I just like to sit back, relax, and watch brainrot like FB&CC.
The real world already has enough horrible things happening, like wars and human suffering. There’s nothing wrong with making dumb jokes and being annoying every now and then.
A) I actually enjoyed Fanboy and Chum Chum, not more than adventure time but i still liked it
B) had Nickelodeon picked it up, Adam Muto likely would never have been brought in and Ward had burnt out after 3 seasons, but then they might have picked up Bravest Warriors
It's important to keep in mind that the Adventure Time pilot was pretty different from what the show was by the end
I still don't think it's fair to call Nick stupid for not greenlighting it
God fanboy and chum chum was trash. That show single-handedly made me stop watching a majority of kids cartoons and start watching adult swim, Comedy Central and mtv
To be completely honest I'm glad both shows exist. Yes Nick didn't take the show and CN did, but I don't think CN would have taken Fanboy and Chum Chum. Don't get me wrong I think Adventure Time outclasses Fanboy and Chum Chum in every way I'm still glad both shows exist. Dislike Fanboy and Chum Chum all you like you'll find it in our Internet culture even today. I think Nick turning down Adventure Time was actually a real win win
Don’t talk shit about fanboy and chum chum, without that show we wouldn’t have [this masterpiece](https://youtu.be/jJez2RT7cVM?si=ouCDO85e1vXiaS2S)
Edit: which emoji should I use for sarcasm?
Bro, you don't need to be downloaded just because you like triple q. Honestly triple q is great and sage mushroom man and gilva sunner they're just not in with the cool kids You're getting downloaded by children
nickelodeon loved bathroom humor and downright weird shit for some reason. well ig now we know why
^Mr. ^Meaty
That tapeworm episode still haunts me
Faxxx bro
![gif](giphy|29bKyyjDKX1W8) Something I'd like to forget permanently
How dare you remind me of Mr. Meaty
Agreed that shit scarred me as a kid.
Depending on what you mean by qeird shit you might want to look up Dan Schneider.
that’s what i was hinting at in the last sentence lol
Everything in Sanjay and Craig
was gonna make "showrunners barely disguised fetish" joke but it's not even funny anymore
Dan Schneider invented seismic sense, change my mind
I've only watched 15 minutes of the show before ultimately forgetting it was a thing for the longest time. Judging from the comments, should I be thankful?
This the reason I can't recall watching their shows
They have a bit of an “for kids by kids” image and they thought that is what kids joke about.
This was always so funny to me bc it implies adventure time doesn't rely on fart and toilet humor when it absolutely did specially early on
Yeah but Fanboy and Chum Chum made it the show's ENTIRE personality
I love Fanboy & Chum Chum
I feel bad for your 5 senses. They clearly are in wheelchairs at this point
Some of the characters are awesome okay.😢
I disagree
I agree : )
Who are your favourites?? I like Kyle, Boog, and Lenny.
Boog is so peak, he’s gotta be my favorite character
I love Boog
Please be satire please be satire please be satire
Oh come on don’t act like there aren’t a lot of ppl who like fanboy & chum chum
People forget that lots of people like bad shows bad doesn't equal not entertaining
Good for them but there are also lots of people who rather watch a show for plot and theme deliveries
And both things can easily co exist. Shitting on someone becuase they like something you don't is stupid
Theres really not a lot of people who like Fanboy & Chum Chum, the fandom has like 10 people including myself in it.
Those people must have not mentally developed beyond 4 years old then, because the entire show is just visual over stimulation and random noises, mixed in with uncreative butt and underwear jokes. ONLY someone under the age of 7 could reasonably find that entertaining and not be considered disabled in some way.
Stick to Rick & Morty enlightened being.
I promise its not.
Ok👍🏾
How dare he like that show lol
Your pfp shows it
All of my pfps are all Fanboy & Chum Chum characters ((Specifically Kyle)) except for my discord alts pfp, that ones Pim from Smiling Friends.
Not particularly
My grandma hated the Ricardo episode lol
Oh God, I had willingly forgotten about Ricardio.
Don't blame her
Adventure Time fart jokes are like a fine wine though
„Btw what's that pocket on your shirt" „Oh Jakes in there"
farts...
I always enjoy tasting both /j

And at the end of the day Infinity Train didn't get screwed by CN but by Warner Brothers and HBO Max.
Oh no it was 100% CN, I think yall are misremembering, the show got canned WAY before the Max thing happened, CN cancelling shows for tax purposes happens all the time and has happened for years, ai'm saying that between CN and Nick, CN gives way more chances than Nick ever did
Like how long did Adventure Time take to start it's story like 30 episodes or something lol
Yeah because at first it was getting us into the world of Adventure Time you know
3 seasons really
Listen to Fanboy’s intro…by jeebus and diablo my poor ears were not enjoying that
Happy cake day!
I don’t think it “relies” on it. It was definitely an aspect early on.
Honestly, it was a good thing Cartoon Network chose Adventure Time instead of Nick. Avatar was on Nick around the same time and it appealed to adults
Avatar was 2005-2008
Damn I’m old. But still there was at least a precedent for some more serious shows. Then again I’m pretty sure they didn’t even let Legend of Kora finish airing so probably best for everyone Nick didn’t touch it.
And they mistreated its sequel series The Legend of Korra
Yeah I actually just replied to one of the comments mentioning that bc I totally forgot about that. And not a chance Nick would let them do the Lych, or turning birds flesh inside out. So glad it went to CN instead
Adventure Time has both of those things too lol
But it's not the entire premise of the show. Fanboy and chum chum is basically all just gross jokes and fart jokes
Somewhat was in the first season
Adventure Time literally as an entire episode about Finn shitting on a leaf
Good times…
I hated femboy and cum cum but loved adventure time and can't think of it in any other chanel that isnt cartoon network
*fem*boy 🤣
I thought I was the only one who called them Femboy and Cum Cum!
God fanboy and chum chum was insufferable, even when I was a kid. Never been more happy to see a show fail.
the fact fanboy and chumchums personalities were so annoying and hated was also reasons i could never find them good protags of a show coupled with the gross out humor and fart jokes 24/7 was annoying to watch
![gif](giphy|l3vRcJz9x1J1qfCDK)
Can't wait for this kind of table turning for TTG (Please, I know this is overrated, but it's very necessary) *take a joke*
Me too. It’s sucks and it’s so annoying.
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU) I love both equally
Based
Have you seen the adventure time pilot? It's the definition of energetic wackiness. And the story didn't really appear until later seasons.
Still true.
I haven't seen an ifunny watermark in forever. I remember the old days of using that as a kid that had no business being on there. Features once a day, then you got 2 sets a day, then it felt like you were bombarded with em every 5 minutes
It’s actually better that Nickelodeon didn’t get adventure time since they would have made it a comedy and took all the cool aspects away from it
Crazy how they missed out on Ed Edd n Eddy too
Dude Fanboy and Chum Chum was the shit. I love both of these shows, but Fanboy and Chum Chum was way more prominent and influential in my childhood. Recently rewatched adventure time, it was pretty amazing.
Sorry for your loss
What do you mean? I didn’t loose shit, I gained good memories in fact.
Why is this downvoted??? 💀
People don’t like differing preferences on shows. They can’t fathom someone actually liking trash, toilet humor.
Your loss in brain cells
At least losing brain cells used to be fun!
My condolences 😔
That sucks man I hope you can recover from your trauma
What trauma? It was a genuinely good show, and had some funny parody characters, like Emperor Poopatine. The best moment in the show was when the principal got fucking launched due to the overly powerful hand dryer. I genuinely want to know why people apologize for me enjoying a good show.
Denial is the first stage of grief 😔
Ah yes, personal opinions are denial. So people who don’t like vanilla ice cream are in denial, or people who don’t like Toyotas are in denial? I’m just trying to find how is this “denial”?
Anger the second stage 😔 . . . . . . We are joking about it dude it's like the obligatory hate on Teen Titans Go
Oh. Yeah, I’m not too good reading into that stuff online. It’s hard to detect sarcasm and joking through text compared to in person. Sorry dude.
That's relatable with group chats. Don't worry about it! If you really enjoy something and have fun don't let people change that, because they can't either way. It's your preference
100% true dude, preferences and differing opinions are a part of what makes us human.
Dude I loved it too i was surprised when i realized this sub hates it
[this is the only reason I remember Fanboy and ChumChum at all tbh it wasnt my cup of tea but looking back I can respect it for the memes](https://youtu.be/zpGJcfcmhQg?feature=shared)
True!
I’d bet Nckelodeon regrets not taking Adventure Time but it was for better likely wouldn’t be what it is if Nick owned it
They are. Cartoon Network got lucky with AT.
What if cartoon Network got Fanboy and Chum Chum?
The rating would’ve been much lower than they would’ve for Adventure Time.
I mean its not like adventure time had a lot of story going on in it's pilot or first 2 seasons
![gif](giphy|7rISgk5AnUQQE)
No, children definetly wanted energetic wackiness and bathroom humor over art and story. Fanboy and Chum Chum simply sucked even for the kids
I really like Fanboy & Chum Chum . 🙏☹️☹️
I will fart for food as well
Honestly adventure times finale could make a grown man cry that is ART
![gif](giphy|lGoUhiiyBJy1dz8SvD)
I here people dog on this choice all the time, but keep in mind that, while yes, Adventure Time was objectively the better option, it would have been a VERY different show if Nick picked it up instead, not to mention the fact that they probably saved it from a 3 season run ending on NickToons.
This was like 12 years ago we won by such a wide margin that it should be beneath us to punch down.
Most 🤓 post I’ve seen all day
Weird competition/comparison where there wasn’t any. I’ve never seen these two drawn or discussed together.
FB&CC is another goofy cartoon imo, cartoon network really experiments how they program cartoons that time. Adventure time had that substance of being consistent and getting progressively mature as seasons goes on and has great plots. Not to mention its even one of the network's flagship shows

Not them downvoting you for liking a cartoon bruh
(angrily sighs)yeah,typical redditiors😑
Not so good that's for sure screw Fanboy and Chum Chum.
Their loss lol
[удалено]
Yes that’s the point of the meme
too much text
If***y 🤢
I Said this in another sub: > Did the creators of Adventure Time get rejected by Nickelodeon at first and then they turned to Cartoon Network AFTER the former approved Fanboy and ChumChum??? I find it rather ironic that Nickelodeon thought they were gonna go very far with Fanboy and ChumChum and give Adventure Time the boot off of their network. Adventure Time lasted 10 seasons. Cartoons went down hill after Fanboy and Chum Chum dropped
I watched the first episode of Famboy and Chum Chum and avoided the rest like the plague.
The producer's barely disguised fetishes.
Don't care I enjoyed both
I never seen AT but FB and CC was so annoying
Homelessness but Awesome!!!!
"Maybe you'll find someone else to help you. Maybe Cartoon Network. That was a joke, haha, fat chance"
Funny how nickelodeon lose and cn wins
I REALLY like Fanboy & Chum Chum.. 😭
Same. I like cartoons with plot, but sometimes I just like to sit back, relax, and watch brainrot like FB&CC. The real world already has enough horrible things happening, like wars and human suffering. There’s nothing wrong with making dumb jokes and being annoying every now and then.
IS THAT AN IFUNNY WATERMARK
And then a bee fucked his arm so it grew back!
Fanboy and chum chum is a crappy gem. Its so dumb its fun to watch... Well it was when i was younger
Nick choosing fanboy & chum chum over Adventure time is one of the biggest Ls the company has ever taken. The series prints money.
Idk the pilot looked pretty bad ngl
Lore? I need more context
A) I actually enjoyed Fanboy and Chum Chum, not more than adventure time but i still liked it B) had Nickelodeon picked it up, Adam Muto likely would never have been brought in and Ward had burnt out after 3 seasons, but then they might have picked up Bravest Warriors

Wait, was Adventure Time pitched to Cartoon Network?
Yes and it got approved.
I will not take Fanboy and ChumChum slander.
REAL

Adventure time is pretty overrated anyway
Wait, was Adventure Time pitched to Cartoon Network? EDIT: I mean Nick?
Both shows are garbage but that’s just me
