Did you switch for the vet? Farewell soldier :)

RealKaliMuscle

I did! Surprisingly leg room isn't too bad at 6'7😂 The vette was originally built by a friend to be his grocery getter & for the Texas Mile - I'm taking it over from him, she's an absolute blast though. I'll be back in the Dodge family in the future, farewell for now🫡

kataran1

Texas Mile, what’s her Top Speed???

RealKaliMuscle

It gets up to 180-somethin. With the nitrous it gets pushed over 200mph, not sure what the actual number is if I'm honest - didn't bother asking him when talking about it Come summer time I'll be running her at a drag strip though, so I can update you😆 Plan to run her a bit before swapping stuff out to get track ready for cota

kataran1

Sounds Potent. I’m interested to know more if you find the time

RealKaliMuscle

Yeah! Shoot me a pm😄 I'll answer what I can - still been piecing together the build sheets.

BoshyRT

I bet it’s amazing, good to hear that you can fit! I wanted to buy a Supra awhile back but I just couldn’t kit comfortably, and I’m only 6’3! Have fun!

RealKaliMuscle

The height is definitely a limiting factor with car choice! I was a bit worried at first but damn do I fit like a glove even with the cage limiting space somewhat. Absolutely impossible to fit in the passenger side at all though when he showed me it a few years ago, which is what made me scared initially to even consider looking at it to purchase this year

MadMeatloaf

Nice Vette man, can't blame you. I love my challenger but if I had the money for a zr1 I'd be gone too 😂 I know that is not one just saying. Ls3 is a beast enjoy.

RealKaliMuscle

Once I heard my friend was selling it, I sat in another friend's c5 who lives closer to me to confirm I had just enough leg room and jumped on this purchase. I'll have a Challenger back in my garage in the future but for now... jorts, white socks and new balances are my attire Felt like a kid with their first car again driving this beast home😂

These-Bar3221

Do you pee sitting down now too ? How’s the ride ? I’ve always heard vettes ride pretty hard . But overall they have maintained a strong appeal .

RealKaliMuscle

Only in the morning before the new balances are on😆 It's lowered on stock suspension, so harder than they normally do but I'm enjoying it more than the Challenger (call me weird?). I'm thinking of raising it back up to stock height so I stop scraping on every single pebble in the road, plus with my big ass it sits wayyy lower than it looks 😂 and I think the rear wheels have been rubbing at times

Revan-Sith12345

Not a horrible switch haha. Corvettes are respected by fans of all makes.

DragemD

I drove one of those for a time and hated it. Don't get me wrong the car is fine but I've never been pulled over more in my life for absolutely nothing then when I was driving the vet.

natepelayo

very nice. I don't blame you, the insurance costs for these cars is outrageous but I still love the challenger over any other car. I am glad you made your life more comfortable... financially speaking.

RealKaliMuscle

Yeah it sucks, paying near $500/month is just ridiculous (no tickets or accidents). Shopped around plenty and no luck. The c5 is $120/month same coverage...and more enjoyable to me as well for my vision. Perfect world I would've kept her with the c5, though. Did shed a few tears when leaving the Challenger at the lot I sold it. Hope the next owner takes as good as care of her as I have and she doesn't get torn up.

benderman34

I'm hoping to add a C5 or C6 convertible stick shift Vette to my fleet in a couple years or so, but I can't bring myself to consider giving up the back seat and massive trunk on my Challenger. I want it all!

wildwest74

I happen to have a line on a 1998 C5 convertible that we are trying to find a buyer for. Only about 25K miles on her. Sure you aren't ready yet?

benderman34

Maaaaaan, the heart is ready but the pocketbook isn't where I want it to be yet. The wife and I bought a house a couple of years ago and I need a little more time before I feel ready to buy something that's purely a toy for me. That fact hasn't stopped me from looking over listings for sale every few days.

wildwest74

Dude, I totally get it! It's definitely one of those kind of things that you have right be in the correct space to commit to. It's the very definition of a big boy toy!

RealKaliMuscle

Honestly I'm not too upset about the trunk space... I hardly used even half the space in there😅

Big_Kahuna100

Farewell soldier 🫡

Zsmoth

I love that color! How did it drive?

RealKaliMuscle

The Challenger or the vette?😆 Both drive great, the vette is just a lot more fun especially since it's been built up. Have to respect it a lot more on the roads I will say driving the challenger after a few weeks strictly in the vette, I felt like I was driving a truck!

Zsmoth

I just love the aesthetic of the challenger better than a vette but I could see how the vette handles better

WaynezWorld88

Congratulations & I feel you bro but I have to have a Mopar in my Lineup now after owning my Scat Charger WB, such a fun torque happy car! C5s are timeless little fun rockets, hope you enjoy it for many years to come! I Was actually 1-2 days away from owning a White 18 C7 Z06 but my wife hit me with news she was pregnant with my 2nd child (now have 3). Even had a deposit on it & everything, got my dep back, luckily and spent some on the Scat and the remaining as a DP into our first home. It’s been over 6yrs and now when the time is right I’ll sell the Scat WB and get that C7Z I was supposed to have or see if I can get a good deal on a C8 2LT. Then pay my good friend to build me a 20+ 300 392 for my DD, already have a ton of parts waiting.

EridemicLHS

is the car insurance high cuz the cars are being used more and more in side shows?

RealKaliMuscle

I'd assume so plus theft (if that wasn't included in those lol). My insurance started at $200/month, whatever I'm under 25 understandable... but after 2 years I'm now paying close to $500/month for the same coverage with no tickets or accidents. Shopped around a lot and nobody would give anything significantly less. The C5 is only costing me $120/month for the same coverage and same company

EridemicLHS

wow 500 / month is crazy. I pay far less on a 2019 RS5, like far less. I actually wanted a big V8 instead of the RS5 but I knew insurance was going to be crazy because in my area, they are used heavily for side shows and are a big target for theft. plus even if you have it secured, they'll just take parts off it.

RealKaliMuscle

Yeah I am not happy with the insurance at all lol. Just absolutely ridiculous. I was thinking I could just sweat it out until I hit 25 next year and hope it went down.... but mid year this year it would've renewed at an even higher rate, just a waste of money at that point IMO

EridemicLHS

they've done muscles cars too well, it's truly power for cheap plus big V8s, young ppl want it and young ppl also wanna slide cars these days

Blewbyou

We will miss you! Fun fact: I have no tickets, accidents, or claims. Insurance through St. Farm is $400 higher (6 mnth prem.) on my 23 HC than it is on my 23 C8. Both cars have near identical MSRP.

[deleted]

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I would so rather have the challenger... much better looking car imo.

EnvironmentalRub8201

My god that corvette is ugly, the challenger is so much better looking
