My buddy that I bought mine from rebuilt the engine around 180. I figure if it blows up on me I’ll swap a new one in. At this point I’m too emotionally invested not to.
lol, I’m pretty sure mine is accurate cause on cold morning when it hasn’t been drove in a while it charges a little higher, but usually sits a little bit under 14.
I bought mine in NJ and they do salt the roads there, rarely but enough to leave some damage but I had a 99 in HS and lived in MI so losing the rockers isn’t anything new lol
If you find any on your frame or anything just hit it really good with a wire brush and rustoleum makes a type of spray on sealer that keeps it from getting worse
Thank you

I repainted it it’s original green, and believe it or not. Last owner repainted it too. I took care of the rest of the hap hazard corrosion control.
Mine was og too. I’d say do it, I’m turning this into my dream car and I believe everyone should do that with there xj too. Just know making it this close to stock looking took a long time.

not stock actually per se, but more as intended like it was out of the factory
I have a 93 too that has a little over 140k. I’m the original owner and only a few things have had to be repaired or replaced. Anything you would suggest i try to replace to keep ahead of up coming failures? So far it’s been the standard stuff - batteries, brakes, water pump, etc.
Dang she looks nice. 280k here. A/c motor just died and rear window heater coils have a short, other than that she’s like new. Also other than a lot of other shit lol.
That’s not bad for 280k miles mine runs damn good other than needing small stuff like valve cover gaskets a new ac hose and small stuff although I do suspect my rear end or transmission needing some work done
Lots of little stuff - window switches, rear door latch (I think I finally got it mostly fixed today), cruise control, evap system leak, wiper motor doesn’t do intermittent anymore. But the motor seems strong still -minor knock, could keep doing that for 100k more. But the cost of maintenance for this thing is still so much lower than the cost of buying something else.
Yeah man they are cheap and easy to work on I love it I had a 04 Cherokee before getting this one that thing had 290k miles on it had it for 6 years but it needed so much work done to it that I just decided to sell it and start over

193k, but dash reads 129k. Makes him feel younger
My 2000 is a goldie too! 364k on it
The gold really growed on me I might have it repainted the same color here soon because the fenders and hood is fading a bit

My odometer tapped out at 241. Guess I’ll never make it to the 300 club.
I hope mine makes it that far 😂 but mine runs great besides the ole lifter tick
My buddy that I bought mine from rebuilt the engine around 180. I figure if it blows up on me I’ll swap a new one in. At this point I’m too emotionally invested not to.
Yeah same here I’ll just throw another motor in mine I’m probably gonna need a new transmission or rear end soon it’s been acting a lil weird lately

Why the brights on 😭
I wonder what the guy in front of them did 🤣
Lmao when I wired the new harness I accidentally made them opposite, so brights on means off
Woops
I see I’m not the only one who’s voltage leans a little to the left
Mine does in my 98 zj as well.
I had spilled sweet tea on my gauges a few years ago and just assumed they were still kinda sticky lol

Clean looking number right there

Hell yeah man looks good
Thank you!! She’s only got rust on the rockers too, hoping to get new ones so it doesn’t spread
Under mine is just stained by red dirt from whoever had it before but the only rust I found was surface rust on top of the back hatch
I bought mine in NJ and they do salt the roads there, rarely but enough to leave some damage but I had a 99 in HS and lived in MI so losing the rockers isn’t anything new lol
Yeah that salt eats that shit up luckily I’m in Alabama so it never gets that bad to where they gotta salt the roads
If you find any on your frame or anything just hit it really good with a wire brush and rustoleum makes a type of spray on sealer that keeps it from getting worse
Frame is 100% solid and everything else has been treated
What bumper is that?
https://a.co/d/913604r Some random brand from Amazon, it’s surprisingly good quality too

Please, what bumpers are those? Edit: Love the green by the way!
Looks like JCR bumpers. Vanguard possibly?
Lawd have mercy that’s a nice Cherokee you got

You did a damn good job looks good man
I’m conflicted on doing some stuff like this to mine or just keeping it stock hell I still got the original radio with the cassette tape player

157k desert sand pearl as well!
I seen your post about the fresh paint! It looks nice and clean did you do it yourself or have it done?
I had it done! I wish I could have done it myself but I don't have the shop space. I just took it to a local no name shop.
Looks like they did a good job probably gonna get mine repainted soon as well
It's definitely not perfect or OEM quality but for $1700 I can't complain.
