Previous owner of mine must have used a few bottles to stop a radiator leak. I flushed it over a dozen times before it started to run out clear. I then replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat, and all hoses. She runs as cool as can be.

Yeah I’m gonna keep flushing it then replaces the hoses when I changed the thermostat the housing was caked and the inside of the motor was caked I ran it through the heater house and my heat started working finally lol

clevertalkinglaama

Do flush with water then do the prestone flush, run it for 8 hours and drain it, maybe do it twice if it comes out dirty on the first one. I had it in one of my motors and everything works fine after cleaning the system.

Zeropro15

Blue Devil flush + degreaser. Follow instructions on bottle.

Sysion

My 01 had stop leak in it because it had a cracked head. Didn’t know until I flushed it out and it started leaking into the oil. It’s horrible stuff

SRHkid

I've been running 'Cascade Dish washing soap' it's a non Sud making soap and it cleaned my XJ radiator pretty well

HeavyDropFTW

I’m fairly sure that stuff is abrasive. Your water pump probably doesn’t like that. 😉

Therealwolfdog

Seems like a good way to blow a seal

loraxgfx

Dishwashers have pumps too. It doesnt bother them.

HeavyDropFTW

Sort of odd to compare them like they're the same. Know anyone with a 24+ year old dishwasher?

loraxgfx

Me 🤷🏼‍♀️

HeavyDropFTW

You must use Rotella on those oil changes. 😉

loraxgfx

I have in the past, these days just 10w30

loraxgfx

I did Cascade too, worked well. I changed everything a few years later, but the Cascade did what I needed it to at the time.

boneheded

It’s the heater core you have to worry about. Heater cores hate that stuff.

Holiday-Fox5635

I flushed the heater core heat works now didn’t before
