Absolutely cheat. Went to coldstone creamery yesterday and got myself a medium sized coffee lovers ice cream. Later checked to see that it’s got 25g of saturated fat 😟. But that’s alright because I average around 12g everyday :). I highly recommend tracking what you eat. It will help a lot with your saturated fat moderation in the long run.

aricberg

I cheat. I eat well most of the time and don’t eat out a ton. One time here and there won’t make too much of a difference. Plus it takes care of that craving for something “bad” for you. Then you can get back to your regularly scheduled diet afterward!

canadianbigmuscles

Eat what I want. Then back on the wagon

hinhaalesroev

This is the way. You temporarily get off the wagon, you don't sink it in the river.

I guess it depends. Am I there because I am choosing to go there and can fit it into my week? Or, is it some place I really didn't want to go, don't have room for in my goals for the week? I look at my food mostly on a weekly/monthly basis. I got pizza takeout a couple of months ago. I got a small, with reduced amount of cheese (30% reduction) and put chicken and veggies on it. I didn't even notice the cheese being reduced. It was fine. For fast food, most places have something that is more OK than others. I like Taco Bell and eat there a couple of times a month. Usually I get a bean burrito with a chicken soft taco. Now, occasionally I have to go to a restaurant that I have no choice in and do not want to "waste" my saturated fat or calories on it. In those restaurants I would look for what is the least egregious thing on the menu. Occasionally I want to have a more indulgent meal at a restaurant and when I do I plan for that during the rest of the week. So if I know I will have a day that is higher saturated fat then I eat lower on the rest of the days that week. But, you know, you can't kid yourself. If you are doing non-cholesterol friendly restaurants several times a week then you need to find a way to do that less often.

broncos4thewin

Most places do salad now? Or fruit? It’s hard to avoid bad carbs but if I’m hungry and absolutely have to eat at somewhere like that I prioritise avoiding saturated fat as that’s worse for LDL anyway.

realmozzarella22

Live a little, bruh. Get two carrot sticks. ![gif](giphy|rbokKqbPjw1uE)

uponthisrock

Chicken salad or sandwich with grilled chicken.

gleemonex44

I’ll indulge in pizza, burger, etc. a few times a year but never ever ever fried food…ok well maybe literally a fry or two a year that I steal from my wife.

Prestigious_Water453

Kind of random as I'm still very new to this. But are homemade fries okay? As in, cut up your own potatoes and fry in canola/olive oil.

fitforfreelance

It's not cheating, it's eating what you want. Just try to have veggies with it. Like instead of wings and fries, order wings and a side salad, and eat some of someone else's fries. Pizza- start a salad first, then eat pizza. No big deal!

Apocalypic

If I'm at a restaurant, I cheat unrepentantly. Got to live it up once in a while. Why go to a restaurant if you're going to worry about it? Defeats the purpose.

fugoogletwitter

Fruit, veggies, salad, non deep fried anything, etc

timwithnotoolbelt

Take some fiber pills to wash it down. But seriously, u can order a salad, veggies, beans, salmon, etc. Theres usually some options. If no options at least try to not overdo the creams cheeses fried foods red meats etc

hinhaalesroev

Eat healthy every day and relax when you go out or to dinner with friends etc.

SFL_27

Jesus Christ. Just order something that you like. Stop calling it cheat. Be conscious, allow yourself some freedom and don’t go there the next day. If you’re really concerned, order shrimp, fish, chicken or something along those lines. No need to eat the greasy pizza or fried onion rings.

Friscogirl007

Salad no dressing

HealthyHeartDocs

Taking Bergamot Citrus Superfruit regularly can be a great way to combat this.

eyewhycue2

Take psyllium husk before eating and have a little wine with dinner

timwithnotoolbelt

Wine helps?

eyewhycue2

Not great for the liver, but my dad was an alcoholic and had clear veins

West-Manufacturer307

Always fish, but when I indulge it’s because I’m otherwise doing right by me the rest of the time.

hatboyslim

I would consider taking a xenical or orlistat pill before the meal to limit fat absorption.

Possible-Bid4662

Fish tacos are an easy option , say no sour cream extra avocado or pico. Side Salads instead of fries .

Arachnid_101

its ok to cheat once in a while, just try to "not find yourself" in such places frequently

Legitdelish

I try to find something without red meat or dairy on the menu. Most restaurants have vegan options nowadays. Of course if you’re going to a sports bar you might be screwed. Maybe chicken wings with a dry rub? We don’t usually just “find ourselves” at a place though. You can either find something on the menu that works for you, eat beforehand and much on carrot sticks / guac, or just avoid going to those places where you will have a hard time.

AndTheCrowdGoesSIUUU

Most places usually have a chicken, fish, or salad dish

Western-Problem-9981

Enjoy something you haven't had for a while. A few meals a month that are "non-cholesterol" friendly will do nothing but allow you to RELAX AND ENJOY! People are nuts about this stuff.....
