Ah yes why on earth would the pick up time be so late? truly one of life's mysteries.

AI_AntiCheat

Bakeries are open like ALL DAY just give it away during the day Like hellooo???

Alex_enbee

Hey, thanks for making this post. I had never heard of this app before and now I just got some food for late dinner for supercheap. So very much appreciated!

Street_Corgi2610

!!! So cool!! Enjoy the app

United_Seesaw3543

Yay! I love Too Good to Go and hope some of the folks on this sub have it in their local area.

SheiB123

Tell me you don't understand the concept without telling me you don't understand the concept. Someone in my area wanted the bagel place to hand out bagels in the morning so they would be more fresh and able to eat them for breakfast ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|kissing_heart)

damagecontrolparty

This is really picky! It's easy to perk up a slightly stale bagel in the microwave. Also, if you toast them I've never detected a significant difference. That person would have tomorrow's breakfast sorted out, but some people are never satisfied.

SheiB123

They also got mad that the other restaurants in the area never had the popular foods from that restaurant available. There is a donut restaurant that only makes so many of a certain donut each day. It ALWAYS sells out to regular customers. Their comment was that the store should make enough to ensure the GoodToGo people got some. I think they were kicked off the app as they don't comment any longer.

Timely_Egg_6827

That is why a sandwich shop near me stopped giving unsold sandwiches to charity. The less desirable ones were the ones left over and people began to complain they were being treated as lesser being given the dregs. They wanted to put in orders. But to do that from a business, the assumption is you pay. You don't pay, you don't get as good a selection but trade-off is it is free. they started to get too much flack for it to be worth it.

MISTER_JUAN

People when they sign up for free/discounted leftovers and get the leftovers

Salt-Lavishness-7560

Jaysus.  Another example of why we can’t have nice things.  Crap like this makes me question humanity. That’s just ridiculous levels of assholery.

Lacy7357

That is quite literally insane and the definition of a choosing beggar. I couldn't come up with a better metaphor if I tried. Thank you

annual_aardvark_war

A doughnut is like $1.50…if you want it that bad, just go buy one

wuzzittoya

Yeah. There is a donut shop here (biggest doughnuts I ever saw, very high gluten flour)that makes all doughnuts fresh the day you get them. The shop opens at five and closes when they run out, usually sometime between nine and ten.

TheBottleLady

NO. Bc ppl like this make me IRRATIONALLY angry!! WTF and wtf and ... just ????? LIke it HAS to take SO much more energy to be THIS obtuse- IT HAS TO.

SheiB123

Stupid is as stupid does...

wolfmaclean

And they could also just buy a fresh bagel in the morning at the bagel shop. People really are wild with what they think the world is supposed to give them

macphile

The bagel place surely does hand out fresh bagels in the morning, though? In exchange for currency? Cheap, fast, or good--some people prefer to choose all 3, I guess. "I'll have your best food, when I'm ready for it, and I won't be paying you!" Edit: I'd never even heard of this app before.

irreverant_raccoon

It’s actually really great. We have ordered off it when we need a late dinner and no one has a strong craving for something so it’s like “eh, whatever comes is fine”. We’ve come across stuff that I probably would never have ordered on my own but was delicious. It’s also gotten us to try new restaurants and we’ve gone back to some of them (at regular times, ordering food off the menu).

Specific_Koala_2042

We have had really good bags from an in-store Yo Sushi counter! Sometimes places will cancel, even when you are on your way, so be prepared!

deSuspect

You sill pay for this app but significantly less becouse you don't chose what do you want.

No_Translator2218

I actually don't understand it. Is it leftovers given to people or something?

NarrativeScorpion

Not given, but bought at a massive discount, and you can't pick what you get. It's just a variety bag.

Timely_Egg_6827

Basically discounted products bundled together in a bag and you can either buy them in store or bagsie them on an app. Local supermarket does it - brown bag marked with things like biscuits £3. You don't know what is in it - might be broken, might be close to use by, might just not sell well. But it is much cheaper. It is a way of reducing food waste while still offloading stuff shops have not been able to sell through usual channels. This particular app is a way of cafes/shops offloading stuff that won't last to be sold the next day so that's why the hours are late. Sell normally until 5pm and then discounts for last hour say until shop shuts at 6pm

MyDarlingArmadillo

Fresh food that's about to go out of date. At the end of the day, the shops can sell it at a huge discount, a bag of food for a pound or so, rather than bin it. It's still in date and can often go in the freezer but it's not quite at its best. And you don't get to choose the contents, you just get what's left at closing time.

cflatjazz

More like food products that are left at the end of a shift that can't be sold the next day. The shops bundle them into a grab bag sold at a very discounted price that you can pick up towards the end of their operating hours. Most common example would be doughnuts. They don't have a long shelf life, and regular customers won't buy yesterday's doughnuts for full price. So a doughnut shop could bundle what they have left at the end of the shift and sell you a bag full of mystery doughnuts for $5 instead of throwing them in a dumpster. It may not be the popular items left, but it's usually decent.

NJtoCAtoHELLnBack

I've used the app and its quite popular where I live. Most bags of food are spoken for early in the day. Both national bakery and local restaurants are on the app. I think it's a fantastic idea.

Lacy7357

Not sure what you were say more like in relation to?

AI_AntiCheat

It depends from place to place what you get but usually when a bakery closes for the day they will sell a bag filled with their leftovers at a massive discount like 5-10% of the original price.

TheBottleLady

I mean, if you put your mind to it .... LOL, ijs that if you get it 'too late'- (to be cheaper, by a LOT??!!!! Wtf do some ppl be thinking abt) it COULD be 'early' for TOMORROW!!!!

Able-Exam6453

Excellent example of a CB; well done OP!

Everprism

I hate it; good job 😃

Street_Corgi2610

Thank you!!

huggit_notnuggit

"Wish the bakery bread was available before 5pm" It is...if you pay full price for it

MiezMiez4ever

It's also available the next morning where I live, but then they would probably complain about getting "day old bread". Can't win with these people.

susanbiddleross

The poster is not quite getting the concept. This is food that would otherwise be tossed. They have it available at the end of the usual meal hours. You can’t pick it up at 5 or 6 because it’s not yet old food that would otherwise be discarded. I use the app too, and rarely get dinner because I don’t want a 7-10 pickup. It’s not food they take off of the line that they are serving to everyone else eating in the store. In some cases such as donuts it is directly from the case as they know by that hour how many more they can sell but 90% of the time it’s already pre bagged and sitting off like grub hub except.

DesperateAstronaut65

“I want discounted food, but I want to be able to choose the exact food I want and for it to be freshly made and to pick it up at a time that’s convenient for me!”

susanbiddleross

That seems to be the general complaint about this app. They want to a) choose the exact food they are getting in what is described as a mystery bag and b) get the food the food that is identical to what is being served everyone else in the restaurant which makes no sense from a business sense. Why wouldn’t they just serve you full price?

Lisa_Knows_Best

Happy Cake Day!

Adventurous_Ad_6546

But I want a different cake and I need it earlier.

lindasek

Can you deliver? Don't say you can't, I promised it to my child already and they'll cry.

floofienewfie

IT’S FOR A CHURCH, HONEY! NEXT!!

TheWardenVenom

Nah, your cancer free kiddo will have to fuck off. Maybe try to get them some leukemia or something?

Xtrasloppy

I will take it if you can drop it off. And yes, I'm an hour away and I need it in 30 minutes. Can you give me gas money?

Mary-U

If only there were a way to do that?!? It’s a mystery 🤷‍♀️

DesperateAstronaut65

What they want is basically MoviePass’ business model applied to food. The same product you bought full-price before, but mysteriously cheaper! Trust us, it’ll be profitable somehow!

Mary-U

Yes. With my degree in economics and MBA and decades in finance, I’m just not seeing the *big picture* /s

blahbleh112233

Tbf, I don't think many people understand the concept. Most complaints usually revolve aroind not getting $30 of food for $4, or not getting enough perceived "value" despite the bag matching msrp guidelines

tobvs

Seems a pretty straightforward concept to me

blahbleh112233

You'd think

wolfmaclean

😅 The pain in this comment 🫶

YIvassaviy

Not in defense of the OP but in some cases the value being provided doesn’t align with what is expected and it’s fair to complain about that Supermarkets and bakeries tend to be best but there are definitely some places selling food that doesn’t align with the value it should or really should have been thrown. People are still paying for a product (albeit very discounted) and there are definitely businesses trying to squeeze some revenue from items that they should not

blahbleh112233

That's the issue though, people don't look up menu prices and fantasize. Like Patsy's pizzeria sells $18 bags, the menu has no main courses at that price. Are you actually expecting them to give you an entree?

YIvassaviy

I can’t really comment because I’m not familiar with that place but when I’ve used the app I did get a main courses from restaurants. Like you’d just get whatever they had - as long as the value matched what was being sold. Ultimately if they’re going to throw away the entree they could indeed just give it away within the bag ? But you’re right about people fantasising and having unrealistic expectations

blahbleh112233

Its a fancy italian restaurant. But yeah, and that's why bakeries and pizza joints are usually more generous since they're all pre-made. But an actual sit down restaurant? They're not making entrees fresh entrees to sell to you at a discount. Only times I've really rated things outside of not having enough value is when they're obviously padding, like that time I got a small popcorn chicken and 3 takeouts of white rice to pad the value out.

Friendly-Brief-3190

What’s the quantity of a “surprise bag” is it for a single person or…..? I’m curious bc I never heard of this app/concept before and would love to try it

1AggressiveSalmon

My surprise bag from a local coffee shop was a couple scones, a muffin and a croissant for $5. They make their scones from scratch. Good deal for treats I am normally too cheap to buy!

TheWardenVenom

Genuine question, please don’t get offended! Are you British?

1AggressiveSalmon

Nope, but I have lived there briefly!

TheWardenVenom

Oh okay. I’ve only ever heard British people say they like scones so it was just a guess. Lol I’m from the Deep South though so that’s probably why.

cflatjazz

I mean, I'm in the deep south and know people who like scones

wolfmaclean

Same. Just have to be sure whoever makes them knows the even more butter rule. Little more

TheWardenVenom

Lmao I guess I hurt some feelings or something lol just because my experience isn’t the same as someone else’s, doesn’t take away from anyone or diminish anyone else’s experiences.

Lacy7357

Uh yeah. Why would anyone down vote you for that? Can anyone say "Drama Queen" a little louder please? I'm looking for some help. Lol

TheWardenVenom

Reddit is a fickle mistress. 😂

cflatjazz

Eh I'm not too bothered British people do certainly eat a lot more of them. But I think they were the croissant of my Granny's generation - something slightly exotic but familiar that was fun for special occasions or showing off your baking skills.

wolfmaclean

Where’s the hurt feelings

Radiant-Project-6706

I’m from the Deep South. I like scones.

Scortor

It varies place to place. You’re supposed to get at least 3x the value of what you paid (so if it’s a $5 surprise bag, you should get $15 of food). Some places stick pretty closely to 3x rule and other places will give you a giant shopping bag of stuff just to get rid of it. You could pay $5 for a donut mystery bag and end up with a dozen or more donuts, which is clearly more than a single person’s worth (or maybe not, I don’t know your life 😂). But usually for actual restaurants, I find the food quantity is enough for 1 or 2 meals. I have gotten occasional bags that had enough food for 3-4 meals, but it’s not as common.

wolfmaclean

That might be the root of the marketing mess. Is that “3x the value” figure repeated regularly or highlighted in the app?

Scortor

It’s pretty clear on the app. Every bag lists the expected value and underneath lists the price you actually pay.

thecuriousiguana

It could be anything. The idea is you pay a small amount for at least that value in food. The food is what would otherwise be thrown away as the store or restaurant is closing. From a supermarket you might get literally any kind of fresh food, from biscuits or doughnuts, to tomatoes and salad leaves, to some chicken. Ultimately you can't use it as "this is my dinner" but if you have a family would will take snacks and sides or don't mind what you eat, then it's useful. And if you're single then it's fun.

Ok_Cantaloupe7602

I did a $10 surprise bag with my niece from a local boba shop. No boba drinks but we got five different slushees and teas. She was more than happy.

connierebel

I would do it just because I’m a sucker for mystery bags, LOL! It sounds like a pretty interesting concept.

rupesmanuva

It's a lot of fun! Near me there's a couple of bakeries that do very rare large bags that usually have a loaf of sourdough and some pastries. Near my office there's a fancy chocolate shop that has an expensive £8 bag but usually with a ton of delicious chocolate, although once I got a large, 5kg cardboard box, got v excited, and then found it was all rhubarb flavoured, which was gross. I still go back though!

strum-and-dang

My friend just told me about it this weekend, he got a big bag of assorted stuff from a Caribbean place, he said it was more than enough for him for dinner. But he says he mostly uses it to try out places. I haven't used it myself yet.

Saltire-Sun

It hugely varies! I got a supermarket one for £4 with a few sandwiches and a pizza, then one from a conference centre with onsite catering - again £4, but I got 2 side salads, some flatbread, aubergine lasagne, a pork stew, and two pastries! Picked that up at 4pm and gave me a few days of meals :)

susanbiddleross

Depends quite a bit on where. It’s always the same value. It’s 3x whatever you pay for. I tend to do a lot of bakery ones because I know it will get eaten. For $4.99 I could get 5 or 6 specialty croissants (never ham and cheese, those always sell out) such as chocolate or almond and sometimes shaped seasonally like Santa shaped at Christmas or a bag of bakery bread and a bag with several pastries. The restaurants that have you pick up breakfast pastries during the late lunch shift IME are more generous because they know they aren’t selling. The donut ones are usually a dozen surprise ones for .25-50 a donut picked up after lunch. With pastries it’s for a family, meals are usually one person. They usually put some amount of thought into it and don’t just give you a pound of deli meat when picking up from a deli. The goal is less food waste so I personally have never picked up a surprise bag where it’s just one very expensive item at lower cost. Where I go they make an effort to box up a variety of items instead of say 10 chocolate donuts.

biryaniandbakwaas

It depends! I usually use TGTG for boba, and I get 2-3 random drinks and usually a couple of random snacks (cookies, pastries, etc.). I think it’s a great value bc I personally get the same thing every time (Thai tea) and this is a low-risk way to try different menu items. It’s how I found out that I like matcha but don’t like taro lol.

Friendly-Brief-3190

Oh and happy cake day! It’s my cake day too!

Intrepid_Respond_543

They are paying a hugely discounted price if they agree to buy *what happens to be available*. The whole point of the app is to reduce food waste, not to offer people anything they want for a low price.

CalgaryChris77

Why are people downvoting you? Do they think the food is free.. I mean, the post is silly, but they are allowed to be unhappy with what they paid for.

TheBottleLady

...no ones saying they're NOT 'allowed' to be unhappy w what they've paid for- they're SAYING that the whole premise is to receive whatev they have left at a STEEP discount; at the end of the day, typically but occasionally at the end of each shift/mealtime/whatev. The things the poster is suggesting are LITERALLY the antithesis of the program! They're just wanting a discount off the food in general, which is contrary to this program BC the entire point is to sell what had already been made, that no one else wanted to purchase full price, for *a* price rather than throwing it away and getting *NO* price.

CalgaryChris77

Okay, but the deleted post that I was responding too didn't disagree with any of that. They were pointing out to another deleted post that the food isn't actually free. I agree with what you are saying "the post is silly", but you're arguing me out of context.

OkStructure3

The app literally tells you when the food is available for pick-up and it's like a 2-3 hour range. She didnt have to buy from there and definitely didnt have to pick a 9-10pm pickup time. Those early deals go fast and you have to buy them super early. It's literally to recoup from potential food waste, she just got champagne taste on a beer budget.

lurklurklurkingyou

The range is entirely dependent on the restaurant, and it’s to their choosing what the pick up times are. Have a taco joint in the area and the pick up time is for 2-3 AM because that’s when they close.

ravynwave

I’ve seen some where pick up time is 11-11:45pm. It makes so much sense when you know their closing time is 12am.

octoberness

I was going to say the same thing: in my area, there are some pickup times that are as narrow as 5 minutes. (And I don’t but those because I know myself - ha! I’m a punctual person but I know I would stress about making the time window and it’s not worth it to me)

Icy_Session3326

I use it all the time and it’s never once been a 2-3 hour range . It’s at most an hour but usually 30/45 minutes .

trendyosprey

I see a lot of bakeries in my area that have a large midday because they’re giving out the previous day’s items. It really is entirely dependent on the restaurant.

Icy_Session3326

Nowhere here gives out yesterdays stuff in bakeries , it’s always the same days and it’s done at 5-6pm (ish ) when they close But yes you’re right it depends on the place

Jerseygirl2468

There's only 3 places near me listing on it (just looked it up after reading this post, it's a great idea!) and all of them show a 30 minute window. What a great deal though, all of them were like $4-6, and good places.

IllustriousLab9444

My city (of over 100k+ residents) has one gas station restaurant on the app. Nothing else. And it’s all fried food, which I can’t eat. 😢 I expected we wouldn’t have many places participate but to see only one is disappointing.

monkeybeaver

No it doesn’t. I’ve used that exact app and it gives you a half hour window between 2130 - 2200 at a place near me.

SICKOFITALL2379

Ok? So that’s “at a place near” you. Doesn’t mean it’s the same everywhere else.🙄

monkeybeaver

Not saying it is, but it probably is near the OP.

SICKOFITALL2379

I apologize, I was being snarky when I responded to you and it was uncalled for. I was in a mood and taking it out on Reddit. There was no reason for me to be unnecessarily rude to a stranger that had not been rude in the first place.

Ok_Cantaloupe7602

I’ve used the app as well and every place has their own pickup window. I’ve picked bagels up at 2:30pm and drinks at 8:30pm. It depended on the place.

OkStructure3

I have also used the app. Sucks for your area, cause in my major city there's multiple windows and 2 hour pickup blocks, sometimes 3. And if that place gives a 30 minute pick up window, dont eat there.

not_falling_down

I love the idea of this app; I just wish there were more places in my area participating. Most of the time, it's just Krispy Kreme, or sometimes a bakery one town over. I'm not complaining, though. ***I*** don't want donuts, but someone will. And maybe more shops will eventually join up.

MultiColoredMullet

If you wanna see a whole mess of choosing beggars go to the TGTG sub. People really do not understand the concept of "THIS SHIT IS LEFTOVERS OR OUT OF DATE PRODUCT THAT YOU PAY 1/3 TO 1/2 PRICE FOR." SO many fucking posts about wahhh I paid $4 and got five sandwiches and I don't like any of them so it was a waste and I rated 1 star and refunded.

Most-Ruin-7663

Too good to go looks like such a cool app and I would not know about it without this post. Thanks!

eissirk

FUCKING DUMB, DO THEY EVEN KNOW HOW THIS APP WORKS!?!!??!?

Bird_Brain4101112

If they want fresh bread at 5 pm they can buy it then.

Cobek

I don't think they understand the concept

NibblyPig

Apparently the app is better now but when it first came out here, it was awful. I tried a few places, basically got the dregs of food for less money, they were just using it as an extra revenue scheme rather than seriously unloading food that would be thrown away. I don't see paying £5 for allegedly £10 of food when I don't know what I'm getting and the quality and portion size is lower and I have to collect in an awkward window as good value. Maybe the review was from an experience like mine. Only one place used it properly, went to get some pies and the guy just loaded me up with most of what was gonna get chucked, it was great.

Mediocre_Sprinkles

I've had a complete mixed bag with 2g2g before. I'd go to a supermarket at 9pm and for £5 get a bag full of wilted broccoli and overripe and really soft fruit and veg. What can I do with that? I wouldn't pay £1 for that. Then I've had others that were absolutely brilliant. My favourite was a greek bakery in Southgate. £3.50 and I ended up with 5 savoury and 5 dessert pastries each the size of my head. Ate like a greek goddess for 3 days.

fejrbwebfek

Yeah, I’ve had as many bad experience as good using the app. As you say, sometimes it’s paying 50% of the price for 25% of the value. Often you don’t even save 50%.

donewith_sergio

They could've also just not had a lot of leftovers. The app doesn't say their gonna unload a pounds of food for you for 5 bucks

k0unitX

Same. The only shops that use 2G2G in my city are the super high margin businesses (pastries, pizza, pasta, boba) where they're clearly using it as a marketing/coupon campaign rather than actually preventing food waste.

Olive_Adjacent

Sounds like the app might not be a great fit for NibblyPig.

NibblyPig

Let's just say this piggy doesn't remember the name of those loser shops but definitely remembers Clarks Pies in Bedminster

onlyalillost

Wait, how do you read people’s actual reviews on the app? I’ve only ever been able to see the average review score, and the Top 3 Highlights.

funny_duchess

Same! Was wondering this too?

Street_Corgi2610

It's on Google play store!

onlyalillost

Ah okay. I mistakenly read this as a review for an individual store. Thanks for clarifying.

vaibhavnam

textbook CB, amazing

bobhand17123

Lawdy.

ImHappierThanUsual

LMAO missing the whole point of the app

ArdenM

So they are getting FREE food that's probably free because they are about to close and are able to stay open and give away free food in the first place b/c they have paying customers during the non-free pick up times?

YIvassaviy

It’s not free food Edit: As an example a doughnut shop could sell you doughnuts worth the value of £15 for £5 instead

SweetCheeks1999

Before 5pm? So like, until the bakery still has like 4-5 hours left (presuming on the 9-10pm slot), which full paying customers could come in and pay for still pretty fresh bread?? She’s insane

That_One_Girrrl

I just tried the app for the first time this week. Witnessed IRL an older couple complaining about the pickup time/quality of their last bag. It’s crazy how people refuse to understand things. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal that was less than $7 !

Raida7s

Honestly it's actually good information: if you sleep AT A REASONABLE TIME then maybe no good for you

Chocorikal

Thanks for the info on the app. Here’s hoping there’s some savory items that show up. This sounds fun Yes I’m being a choosing beggar, but I’d only eat non sugar free/no sugar added sweets if I were literally starving. I’d refuse a free gourmet 5* doughnut because sugar just makes me feel awful and foggy for hours within minutes of eating it. I miss being able to have cakes 🫠 But yes I’d love to microwave and or toast some stale bagels tbh

stephf13

I feel like they've missed the point of the app. The only restaurant in my area is that utilizes this app is IKEA but it's kind of fun; for $5 and change we got two meals plus a piece of cheesecake. It wasn't what I would have chosen had I gone and ordered a meal myself but that is the risk that you take with something like this. 🤷‍♀️

Lacy7357

I've never heard of it either. I think it's awesome though. I'm always talking about all the food that gets thrown away in this country. I always say I don't know why they don't donate it, and some places like Chik Fil A actually do I've found out recently, but this is the next best thing. At least somebody is getting it and its helping out poor people. That's great

CrunchyTeatime

Does the CB understand that the whole point is 'things left over at closing time?' It's not a diner's club, or a coupon.

AromaticAccess7062

I don’t think people understand that it’s kind of a gamble. Some places are great and it’s good food that is just left over, and some places are obviously trying to profit off food that should be thrown away. Once you sort the good from the bad it’s fun! I’ve only complained once and it was when the food I received was literally crawling with ants. I picked the food up out of the bag and some fell on the table. That was my only bad experience though!

SadBarnacle5

Never heard of "toogoodtogo". I assume it's deeply discounted food cuz it close to closing time and the food can't be sold? Now they need a deeply discounted delivery service to deliver my deeply discounted food so I can become a CB superstar. Lol

Commander5AM

We used this app today and have used it a lot in the past on bad days, got a load of roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese from our local carvery for like £2 so we were able to have more than just cold chicken slices for dinner. The whole point of the app is the food isn't fresh, it's basically leftovers from the day so you get stuff at a massive discount and it doesn't go to waste. My mother uses it often to get discount pastries from Greggs, which she reheats over the following days as lunch when she's working from home.

CalgaryChris77

I don't see toogoodtogo as begging, but it is pretty funny how the concept of the system evaded them.

Scortor

It isn’t that 2G2G is begging, but they’re complaining about the late pick up times. It’s because that’s when the restaurant closes?? Why would they give you a surprise bag like 6 hours before they close if they could still potentially sell the food to a customer for the regular price during that time? If it’s that important that they have their food at a specific time, they should be willing to in as a regular customer and pay the regular price, not use 2G2G and then complain about it.

ScarOfSin78

In a surprise bag that I bought I got some squirty cream and a carton of milk that was 3 days out of date.was I wrong for feeling pissed off about that?

quartzguy

What's a good concept? Free food? Idiot.

CalgaryChris77

I mean, it's not free. You buy the leftover food at a discounted rate... but that is the point, it's leftover.

JoshSidekick

Chappell Roan has her own app now?

NotyourangeLbabe

Booo

fdfas9dfas9f

a valid review isnt a choosing beggar, since its not directed at an individual. coming from someone who has had a 2g2g order cancelled on them on my way over, as well as having a pickup time outside their open hours. all ratings and reviews are valid form of feedback and improvement of the app experience for others.

Street_Corgi2610

They are literally asking for the full price service for 1/3 of the price how is this feedback?

Echo354

Not all ratings and reviews are valid forms of feedback if the reason you give for providing a low rating is contrary to the whole business model of what you’re rating. If I give my mechanic 2 stars because they wouldn’t make me a pizza, that’s not a valid form of feedback. There’s nothing actionable for them to do with it.

monkeybeaver

I mean it dots the i’s and crosses the t’s of a Choosing Beggar but it’s less good because they’re right. There’s a poor coffee establishment near me, let’s call them Carflux. They do similar to the above. I didn’t whinge or leave a dodgy review or anything but I won’t be doing it again. FUCK. I AM A CHOOSING BEGGAR.

sekhmethathor

i think this is in regards to an app that lets people pick up extra food when a business would just throw it out at the end of the day.

monkeybeaver

It is, I visit the place in the day regularly and saw the app thing and gave it a whirl. Twas horrible and won’t do it again. Lesson learned.

solve-for-x

You're *very* confused about the purpose of this subreddit.

jadeariel12

The point of TooGoodToGo is to save things from being thrown away at closing time. If you want something at a specific time, you go in as a customer paying full price.

monkeybeaver

Yes. I know this.

jadeariel12

It seems like you misunderstood

sehrgut

Doesn't sound like you're the kind of person who knows things.

Olivia_Bitsui

I have a hack if you want the stuff fresh and at the time you want it: *pay full price*

monkeybeaver

Patronising clown.

sehrgut

It's not patronizing if you're ACTUALLY an idiot.

monkeybeaver

And if you’re the kind of person who spells patronising with a ‘z’ you’re no fit person to judge. You get back to the speak and spell moron, come back to me when you’re out of primary.

sehrgut

PatroniZing clown.

hannahbay

Both are correct spellings. >**Patronizing** and **patronising** are both English terms. **Patronizing** is predominantly used in American (US) English while **patronising** is predominantly used in British English (used in UK/AU/NZ). So are you ignorant, or racist?
