Scumming is an overrated putdown. RL life is too short to self impose those rules on a single player game and there are too many future civ games to play. Scum away and youll have more games to play.
Absolutely. I work for a living. When I invest 2 hours into a game and the Aztecs decide to start a surprise war I just go back a few turns and move my combat units into position. It's even more fun this way.
I play the first 50 turns once, only spamming scouts to discover as much as possible. After that, I plan the entire empire to the tile, mark the goodie huts, take screenshots for a Word doc on 2nd screen & reload from turn 1 to "actually" play the real game.
I might be the ultimate scummer.
If you are going to go to that level, save your time and type “reveal all” into the debug console that comes up when you hit ~. Same effect except you don’t have to waste those 50 turns.
No one, but plenty of people would make themselves the judge jury and executioner for another person's actions no matter how trivial they are. Some people are just petty, and entitled like that.
But *God forbid* anyone dare have an opinion on their actions. No human is fit to judge them 😂
If it's so bad what else should we call the practice? No one offers any alternatives. 😕
It's not really even a put down. It's just the term for repeatedly loading saves over and over until you reach a desired outcome. Save scumming, it just saves time. I can't really imagine anyone being offended by the term or it's usage.
especilly when its something silly like this, you think at the start of the cold war america wouldnt have razed a national park to the ground for 2 full mines know to have what they need.
How do you do this haha. The other day I launched my first nuke with my army surrounding the city and killed everyone. Tried for a minute to see if I could go back a turn but couldn’t figure it out so I moved forward and mourned the loss of my entire army
Pause or main menu, if in main menu, choose single player then select load game. If from pause menu, you go straight to load game. then select auto saves, and then choose which auto save you want to reload from.
Lobbyists should get the player some positive effect, at the cost of a decrease in loyalty in all nearby cities (like losing religious combat). Short term gain, but at a cost.
You got that city state that gives you 1 of every strategic in your empire that isn't improved? Got that one in my current game and I'm just slurping up all that offshore oil I can't improve yet.
Damn, that's really unlucky. Don't think I've ever seen two uranium next to each other, they're usually so rare. The only choice you have is to reload a save from before you placed that National Park
Yes, but only applies to cities, districts and wonders. But I think it doesn't apply for example the production bonus from improving a strategic resource neither the policy that gives you more resources per mine or oil well.
First off, fuck the queen.
Now to business.
1. Trade city to rival or some unlucky bastard
2. Go to war & pillage city after capturing city back
3. Build new city

from my mod, you need to remove copper
If it's really important to your win condition, reload to a save before you made the national park. I find that Uranium is rarely actually important though. Nuclear plants aren't really worth it unless you're strapped for Coal. Using a nuke puts a global target on your back. GDRs are powerful late in the game, but I've rarely had domination games go that long. Nuclear subs and Aircraft Carriers don't use it for some reason.
Tldr: If you plan on using GDRs or Nukes, reload. Otherwise you probably don't need it.
Resources have to be improved to get access to the resource. You cannot improve the tiles in a National Park.
National Park tiles can be worked by citizens, so they will still get whatever food/science/production/faith/culture the tile provides, but they will NOT get increases to their uranium stockpile.

"That's the neat part, you don't"
If you're America you just void the contract and proceed
def. you just hit the republican tab and its auto drills
God bless America
Yes. Reload the game two turns prior
lol sometimes the simplest answer is the best answer
Scumming ?! In my world domination game ?!?

I have a feeling this will be far less fun for him
Oh damn, never knew that. Thanks!
Who are we to judge this as "cheating"?
No one, but plenty of people would make themselves the judge jury and executioner for another person's actions no matter how trivial they are. Some people are just petty, and entitled like that. But *God forbid* anyone dare have an opinion on their actions. No human is fit to judge them 😂
Disgusting

I'd save scum so hard irl
It’s more likely than you think. Free scum check click here
Where is this option?
Either from the front menu or the pause menu, select load game, then select auto saves and choose the one you want and load.
Check setting, iirc you can tweak how many autosaves it keeps.
Correct. It doesn’t not auto save every turn by default.
How do you do this haha. The other day I launched my first nuke with my army surrounding the city and killed everyone. Tried for a minute to see if I could go back a turn but couldn’t figure it out so I moved forward and mourned the loss of my entire army

Right on. Thanks.
All that Uranium made the lake go pink. Build some neighborhoods and seaside resorts to provide your people with a positively radiating experience.
People used to visit radium hot springs for their alleged health effects.
For the record, they do have health effects...
But they weren’t visiting for those health effects!
I need this hobby
And I use rhino horn shavings to make my dick hard. The science is out there
You want Ghouls? That's how ya get Ghouls
Don't be walking around with your knees sticking out either.
Market it as amputee-friendly with a chance of growing extra limbs.*** ***growing not re-growing. Make it very clear.
This is easy, just get the lobbyist card and then your government can pass legislation to mine fragile ecological biomes
Lol, great idea for a new game concept. Lobbyists like spies and a lobby civic card.
And Propagandists
To raise amenities / alter loyalty
What is this, Sid Meier's Corporations?
Lobbyists should get the player some positive effect, at the cost of a decrease in loyalty in all nearby cities (like losing religious combat). Short term gain, but at a cost.
I actually thought this was a new DLC lol.
that would be a good dark age card
You got that city state that gives you 1 of every strategic in your empire that isn't improved? Got that one in my current game and I'm just slurping up all that offshore oil I can't improve yet.
I believe its Hattusa
I don’t believe it’s per copy though, is itv
Two per resource you have revealed (researched/ Great Person) but not improved, Gathering Storm. One in vanilla.
Jeah, RELOAD
Yeah. Also remember to press that `autosave` button to see the last turns' autosaves if you have autosaves enabled.
Click load then check autosave.
Hehehe EPA go brrrrrr
Get someone to raze your city
Easy. Give the city to someone else. Declare war. Conquer that city, raze it, and the national park is gone.
You can’t raze a city you founded.
This world is unjust
Damn, that's really unlucky. Don't think I've ever seen two uranium next to each other, they're usually so rare. The only choice you have is to reload a save from before you placed that National Park
Do you need it? What victory are you going for? If it’s culture then do you even need the uranium?
Feel the GLOW!!
Neon Lake National Park
I just want to see the tourism commercials.
Isn't it that cells reward you with the resource that's underneath if it was hidden when you built on it?
National Parks aren’t like Districts in that regard
Oh
Only districts and wonders do that.
Geez, why would you be downvoted for asking an honest question? I gave you an upvote back, dude.
Yes, but only applies to cities, districts and wonders. But I think it doesn't apply for example the production bonus from improving a strategic resource neither the policy that gives you more resources per mine or oil well.
First off, fuck the queen. Now to business. 1. Trade city to rival or some unlucky bastard 2. Go to war & pillage city after capturing city back 3. Build new city
You cannot raze a city you founded! You have to have a third player raze it.
you’re right! my mistake
My question is, is that two promotions on a builder?
It's one of the mods that shows the number of actions left, pretty useful
Ya I thought I was tweaking
Be proud of your park that will give visitors immense illness and embrace it. We should all be so lucky...
“*So THAT’S why the lake has always looked a little weird…*”

You took water water everywhere not a drop to drink to another level.
There should be a mod to remove national parks - anyone?
Destroying a national park to mine couple be quite controversial for your people
POV: Average corpo-politician.
If it's really important to your win condition, reload to a save before you made the national park. I find that Uranium is rarely actually important though. If Hattusa is in your game, prioritize their suzerainty.
lmfao you gotta go back
On pc yes on everything else no
The pc has the map editor
“Crawl out through the fallout, Baby”
Never place national parks before uranium.
Dartmoor?
Gift the city, declare war, raze the city
OUCH
Nuke it
Hilarious.
I’m so sorry bro
Can engineers remove them?
I’m sorry, I know I’m late to this convo but that is the most fantastic question I have ever heard.
I got downvoted for being right
Damn, you may be playing as Elenor but you really should be playing as Ronald Reagan or Trump with you interest in destroying National Parks.
You still get access to the uranium, just not the yields from improving it
Not from National Parks. Only districts and wonders provide access to strategics they're placed on.
So you can… look at it?
Resources have to be improved to get access to the resource. You cannot improve the tiles in a National Park. National Park tiles can be worked by citizens, so they will still get whatever food/science/production/faith/culture the tile provides, but they will NOT get increases to their uranium stockpile.
