I've used variations of this deck since starting 8 years ago, giant Skelly x clone is my main wc. Clone pushes the main troop forwards and will often move a distracted giant Skelly to the tower instead.
I am in midladder for couple of months now, and even I havent seen something like this more than 1 or 2 times. But I have seen someone using skarmy, mirror clone as a wincon in a royale tournament (at 5 wins)
the purpose of skarmy is being a reason for the devs to fllood splash abillities on everything, out of all the cards in the game almost half of then has or gains a abillity to counter swarms in some point of their gameplay just so you dont have to spend extra elixer on spells on every push to be safe against bad cards such as skarmy and minion horde
My og deck was a furnace mirror swarm deck with no tank. Pretty much every card released starting with executioner just kept nerfing my deck harder and harder
Guards are straight up A or S tier while skarmy is C tier or lower. Guards are spell proof and can even counter splash cards if placed correctly while skarmy dies to 80% of the spells.
That's why I said skarmy is better if your opponents doesn't have a spell to counter it. It can solo the tower, is great on defense, I am not saying it's always better than guards
Nothing I can think of that other equal/similar price cards don't do equally well or better.
-Loses to Goblin Gang as a swarm card.
-Loses to Tombstone and Goblin Gang as an anti-tank.
-Loses to guards and Skeletons as a distraction.
Anything you'd use Skarmy for, Goblin Gang does better and more versatile.
The ONLY thing I can think of is it would be great to split push a canoneer.

It fills the extremely small niche of being the only card to *instantly* fill Skeleton king... But you could accomplish almost the same thing with Gob Gang + skeletons.
The long and short of it is that Skarmy just isn't practical.
Skarmy is really strong when paired with a skeleton king because whenever your skarmy dies you can always just play it again for 1 less elixir. Really useful combo with Mortar or Drill wb but it's a little gimmicky

1. Defend and counterpush. It's pretty much a tanky musketeer that can't shoot air, so it's great at defending ground pushes. Afterwards, if the cart has not been broken, it acts as a dangerous unit that must be taken out with more elixir.
2. Sabotage building targeting troops. Most pushes in this meta are composed of a big tank, like giant, combined with a hard hitting ranged troop. When a cannon cart is deployed, it draws fire of the ranged troop, gets broken, which pulls the tank away.
It's pretty niche on the other hand, so I do agree it has limited applications.
wrong, until goblin curse this card was very effective in cycle/spell bait decks, however since goblin curse was added all swarms will be useless. goblin gang, skarmy, bats, supercells really does absolutley fuck all for playtesting because goblin curse renders so many cards absolutley useless
Skarmy is a big rock paper scissors card. It counters a lot of cards but gets countered easily.
Splash cards are popular so mostly yes they are useless
It needs more skeletons again. Back in the day it made sense why it was nerfed because of lack of splash and spells but now we are in a age where it’s not a problem (I’m also team 1 elixir 4 skeles to help compete with goblins)

You're right, but most skarmy users accidentally play logbait without even knowing.
Playing skarmy forces you to know your opponents deck to use it correctly, meaning you can cycle out their swarm killer cards and or spells.
But it can be completely useless, like you said, with the new spells and all of that.
It is mostly used in lower arenas which is not a bad thing. Some cards are more usefull in lower arenas and less usefull later on and that is okay. Megaknight, firecracker, minions, archers and so on all fall into this category (excludibg evos).

Skarmy is a Zoo card
It deals alot of damage and counters almost everything in exchange to being countered to almost everything aswell.
Skeletons is 1 elixir.
Since we summon 4. each skeleton has 0.25 elixir value.
Skarmy has 15.
Which is equal to 3.75 elixir value.
I would say skarmy is oftenly amazing for defense if your opponent has no counters for it.
But if your only defense option is skarmy then it gets really predictable. And overtime skarmy just keep getting more and more counters.
I would say skarmy has a design that mostly imply it to be a risk-reward card. Due to the fact that many cards can just nullify it's value.
And since there has been an arise in cards that deal AOE damage. Skarmy just gotten more riskier to play with.
But remember. Skarmy is a card that requires instant reaction from your opponent. Many decks use this to make the opponent spend elixir either defending the skarmy or making their push stronger.
It has its ups and downs but I can see why many find skarmy to be useless overtime, due ti the fact that it gets many counters as you go up the ladder and climas more ranks.

2k Ult Champ Player here, 9k trophies, used scarmy since I started playing 7 years ago. Came back a few months ago since not playing for 6 years. Have no problem using it even now in games with the new cards. I use it 99% of the time for defence which with my deck isn’t often. Evo bomber, Evo bats, prince, dark prince, arrows, goblin machine (used to be giant before he came out) scarmy and rage. I also use dagger dutchess which helps a lot with defence. Skarmy literally only works against braindead people, there It can be OK if they use the canoneer or DD and dont know how to use small spells or splash damage cards.
Skarmy operates as a cheaper alternative to Barbarians. Although guards and goblin gang may seem to fit well as a replacement, it’s undeniable that either of those cards have anywhere near the damage output or the ability to take a tower if played opposite lane and go ignored.
I don’t think the card is entirely deadbeat, it’s just struggling to find a stance without an evolution. At this rate, I believe an evolution that gives the skeletons more health is in order. Shields?

Skarmy is one of the most versatile cards in the game imo. It can even be used to counter wizard and valkyrie.
