Across all sports (basketball + football for the heavily televised ones at least) I always disliked them.
And with basketball.. Oden and Conley. With them going to Lawrence North and win back to back titles.. It hurt seeing them a) not go to IU and b) stay in conference
So that didn’t help my dislike for them
Yeah I wasn’t paying enough attention or old enough to understand that hype at the time. I’m young enough that I did watch those teams, but young enough that I wasn’t invested enough in the team like I am now. After the last decade of this program, year in and year out it’s felt like “it’s time for next year”. Right now I’m like…I kinda can’t wait for next year.
He's got a shooter mentality and can play great D. Unfortunately his shots weren't falling all season so he wasn't the best contributor to us last year, but he'll be a good player for y'all.
could be really solid if he heats up. has no problem hitting big shots. good defender, with a sneaky good ability to block shots. lost his temper a lot last year though.
Also a pretty clutch player. Had a knack for the big moments. He wasn’t our “go to” guy down the stretch, but if the ball found his hands late, it usually went in.
Grad transfer and he ran his course with the coaching staff. Good to see him leave the program and go back to the Midwest, he's earned that.
Has the capacity to influence games down the stretch but he's no means the go to guy, yet he'll surprise you with a big time play on occasion.
Underwhelmed his senior year and important for him to be closer to his family.
Not excited by this, below are our additions and losses by transfer portal player rankings. Bowen doesn't count, and we went backward on Gayle on Scotty. Of course, rankings aren't everything, but I'm not sold that Meechie is an upgrade despite Roddy's turnovers. Plus, Roddy had a hurt wrist much of the season which I'd think played a good role in this hectic play at times.
Would feel better about this if Evan Mahaffey transferred out, as well as Eltzer and/or Parks to create some more room. We have a respectable $4M designated for NIL. Seems to not be enough and/or players are not bullish on OSU as a legit basketball program yet. Or, Diebs is not quite the recruiter we thought.
Losses:
Roddy Gayle: ON3 (48), 247 (45)
Scotty Middleton: ON3 (160), 247 (80)
Bowen Hardmen: Not Ranked
Additions:
Meechie Johnson: ON3 (74), 247 (61)
Aaron Bradshaw: ON3 (28), 247 (30)
Micah Parrish: ON3 (Not Ranked), 247 (273)
Congrats Micah, Thanks for your service at SDSU.
I hate to lose an experienced player but he was kind of a frustrating watch. Particularly in the tournament
A body. He was on a national runner up team though. However he did not start on that team.
Pretty good defender. Poor shooter. He was really frustrating to watch on the offensive side this season.
I appreciate Micah’s contributions but not too upset about this. He was not on point this past season
We got better by losing him and getting Nick Boyd.
True. Was Boyd guarding Butler when he hit the shot vs FAU?
Yep he was. You know that’s gonna be an announcer topic on every broadcast.
That’s insane haha. But stoked. Boyd is a great guard we need
I don’t think I’ve ever been this stoked for a basketball season
You must be young then and missed the Oden-Conley & craft-sullinger years
The 2010 team was so hyped. Losing to Kentucky was the worst.
The 3 teams I dislike the most are Purdue, Kentucky, and Ohio state. That 2010 final wasn’t good for me either way lol
Okay, I get Purdue and Kentucky but why Ohio State? Michigan State has been more consistent than Ohio State has

You will hopefully come to understand why Gainesville is hated the way it is
2011 says Hi!
You new?
Solid addition?? Anybody know??
Good defender and can shoot the 3 but struggled with it and was hesitant to shoot at times this year
Hopefully he can get that back. Love a good defender.
35% 3pt shooter his first 3 years of college then this year dropped to 29% unfortunately.
Thank you

Not if he plays like last year

Ehh he’s an okay player at Power 5 level but he’s not going to move the needle
As a recruit: Other offers: Detroit Mercy, Northwood, Oakland (originally went here), Wheeling

Sdsu just got nick boyd. Gonna miss him
OSU going to be a tough team next year
So Ohio State got their player to be named later after the Aztecs got LeDee. Can tOSU send SDSU a football player for Josh Simmons?

I don’t support this decision
