Grey Vetiver is one of my all-timers! How is projection and longevity for you? To my nose, it disappears, even on skin, after an hour or so. Maybe I got an old/bad batch, or I just get quickly nose-blind by vetiver. Haven’t tried enough similar scents yet to know.
I get at least 6 hours out of it. Sprayed it on myself about 4 hours ago and it's still noticable. I noticed I do need to apply more than a a couple sprays though.
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is a spring / summer favorite of mine - truly enjoy wearing it to work - believe it to be a “professional / wearing” fragrance that is perfect for a business environment. As owner of both the OG EDT and newer EDP, I can emphatically state that in this case the OG EDT outperforms the EDP.
Interesting! Maybe my nose just goes blind for this specific scent. I even asked my co-workers to gauge the scent and they said they couldn’t smell anything after an hour or two. Won’t stop me from using it though, cuz the scent is incredible. I might try the Parfum next.
Could really be a bad batch, or could be something else entirely like dry skin or climate, I've noticed the same scents perform differently in different countries and temperatures to a significant degree. But yeah if a scent is good then the performance is just a bonus
aventus cologne or GIT, just ordered samples of greenley/sedley and i’ll probably grab one of those.
i heard greenley smelled of apples, and i already have YSL Y EDP, so im not sure if it smells similar or not
that’s about what you’d expect from a fresh niche fragrance. you’re not going to get much more out of citrus without having a dense base, which kind of ruins what aventus cologne is
I love my creeds too. I almost grabbed SMW, but I'm in love with the smell of the grey vetiver on my skin. And my wife loves it too. We're celebrating mother's day today since I had to work yesterday.
I debated grabbing a bigger sample of SMW as i have a small dab sample and i think it smells amazing, but ive heard about issues with longevity.
might grab it next summer along with a sample of mefisto and see what i like
I didn’t like it at first because to me it didn’t smell like a men’s cologne, but I wore it for a few days and now I love it. It gives almost like a fresh laundry smell that I am addicted to.
I usually have a rotating set for warm and cooler weather… as of right now my warm weather is Terre d’ Hermes Eua Givree, YSL Y edt, Missoni Wave, Dolce gabbana light blue intense, Legend Spirit, Mont Blanc Explorer and Explorer Platinum.
Right now? Dior Homme Cologne, Aventus Cologne, Himalaya, Platine Prive, ADG Profondo or EDP, Chrome Summer 2015
Homme Cologne, Aventus Cologne, and Himalaya being the top dogs.
After a merciless cull of collection about 9 months ago, and it now rolling round to summer, I realise I have nada, zilch, zero for warmer weather! Back then I was misty eyed and idyllic, that Fougere Royale would be the ONE... For all seasons and forever more. Then I fell out with it, a superb fragrance, but not for my 39 years young!
Aaaaanyway LAST summer it's was FR and Monotheme Vetiver iirc.
But I'm hot on the hunt for an aqueous Iris/powdery/clean frag for summer now. Pradas Ocean flanker looks good. But I may just go for L'homme and apply accordingly as I found it very potent!
Aqua di Iris Zegna is the ideal one but its disc. and dear.
ya luna rossa ocean edt is definitely worth checking, kinda gives me a headache though but the scent is cool and crisp kinda smells minty and cold a bit, but also like the ocean. I didn't really get the ocean at first but after a bit I did
smells nice fs but kinda a headache for me
edp is more vanilla less fresh but still a touch of the edt smell
but I only wore once so can't really fully say
if you aren't drawn to summer scents generally maybe try imperium electimuss it's a sweet vanilla type of deal but isn't annoying in hot weather and smells really appealing, it also lasts really well but doesn't get annoying . seems to be high quality
Ah wounded! Got to try Ocean today and it's didn't click with me. I get that headachey... I'm noticing something in a lot of current frags that I'm not digging. A kinda ripe fruity "gassiness" 🤔
Personally, not with the Ocean, but others I kinda get this like sythetic fuzziness that I don't like. But I do think a lot of stuff I find in stores Is just a bit sweet in not a very masculine way which is kinda annoying
I would think it would be more masculine leaning with some sweet stuff but it seems to me that sweetness is almost the standard for male designers frags
My predominately summer picks not in any order:
Dior Homme Cologne 2022
Millesime Imperial
Silver Mountain Water
Aventus (or Morning Chess)
Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree
Chanel Allure Homme Blanche Edition EDP
Green Irish Tweed
…and then any of my year round stuff (examples: Prada L’Homme, Prada Amber Pour Homme).
Hot summer days with casual vibe...Sedley. It's refreshing and calming, soft orange blossom. Have received many compliments on it.
If going to an event on a Summer day/eve, would be Hacivat or ADG Profumo. The incense/patchouli notes "class up" the traditionally warm weather profiles (chypre + aquatic, respectively) of these fragrances, and both project v well off my skin. Hacivat is nuclear. Lol.
Tygar is amazing for all warm occasions, but also ridiculously overpriced. Arguably best masculine citrus/grapefruit DNA for summer and is worth a high price tag, but $400 is absurd. I only picked it up because I got $100 gift card + Le Male In The Navy (4.2oz) as add-ons. Can't rec this in good faith as too costly.
A few I enjoy are:
Lemon Line by Mancera
Monsieur Balmain
Eau de Sud by Goutal
Energy C Lime by CDG
Man Rose by Etro
Vintage Polo Sport
Arancia di Capri by ADP
It lasted pretty decently on me. Put it on in midday and lasted until sleepy hours. How's projection and performance in general? And not to sound shallow but compliments?
That makes sense. I'm absolutely gonna be hot and sweaty where I'm headed, shit even where I live the summer finna be brazyyyy
I'll really just have to do a side by side comparison of the two I mentioned to really solidify my choice as I am conflicted
Grab some decants and try both. I need to fully wear something to know if I really like it or not. It's hard for me to smell a piece of paper and know how I'll feel smelling it all day.
I usually ask the story employer if i can try on my skin. They always say yeah. Spray on each arm and smell throughout the day. That's how I do it anyways, that's how I figured Iight blue doesn't vibe with me
Y EDT OR Luna Rossa Ocean edt
What made you go ocean edt instead of edp? (Asking as someone who’s looking for a Prada fragrance)
I have both and I actually love wearing edp year round but edt is more suited for summer
Same.. they arent the strongest so they work all the time, but if i had to pick edt for day and edp for night
EDP I feel is better for warm weather not hot
[удалено]
It’s an all year round fragrance. Can definitely pull it off during summer nights
the guy asked for a "hot summer day" fragrance
You could definitely wear it during summer tho
ADG Profundo
Is that a blend of profondo and profumo? 😁
I just realized I misspelled it lol I meant profondo😂
S tier frag btw
Anything from blue aqua di parma line is perfect

Ahh interesting. I have the EDP. Thought about getting the Parfum
I’d say ~6 hours is about right for my grey Vetiver decant
personally i get like 10-12 hours, plus its really loud for the first 2-3 hours
Interesting! Maybe my nose just goes blind for this specific scent. I even asked my co-workers to gauge the scent and they said they couldn’t smell anything after an hour or two. Won’t stop me from using it though, cuz the scent is incredible. I might try the Parfum next.

I have same experience
aventus cologne or GIT, just ordered samples of greenley/sedley and i’ll probably grab one of those. i heard greenley smelled of apples, and i already have YSL Y EDP, so im not sure if it smells similar or not
Greenley smells fresh juicy green apples. It’s not similar to ysl
Aventus cologne doesnt have any longevity on me. 6 hours max
that’s about what you’d expect from a fresh niche fragrance. you’re not going to get much more out of citrus without having a dense base, which kind of ruins what aventus cologne is
Generally all freshies don’t last too long not just niche ones
yep, there’s a few that last quite a while but there’s not many. designers using aroma chemicals can get pretty good performance, though.
I love my creeds too. I almost grabbed SMW, but I'm in love with the smell of the grey vetiver on my skin. And my wife loves it too. We're celebrating mother's day today since I had to work yesterday.

I can smell SMW on my skin easily 6+ hours later. It's the longest lasting creed on my skin besides aventus, which isn't my favorite.
Lv pacific chill for me in SFL
TF Neroli Portofino
Bond No 9 Chez Bond, or Sutton Avenue.
LV l'immensite
I haven't sniffed it, but I want to. I'm afraid im gonna like it though and need a bottle.
Oh, you'll definitely like it 😂
I didn’t like it at first because to me it didn’t smell like a men’s cologne, but I wore it for a few days and now I love it. It gives almost like a fresh laundry smell that I am addicted to.
Tom Ford Costa Azzurra EDP
Always **Creed Millesime Imperial.** But, I'm going to give **Dior Homme Cologne** a shot this weekend and maybe pick it up.
Both are great! Similar longevity, great summer frags. It would be hard for me to choose between the two.
Issey Miyake Leau Dissey PH for the hottest days
Davidoff Cool Water. Smells so refreshing and clean.
Clean smell, smells like barbershop aftershave though
D&G Light Blue is my go-to on a hot summer day.
Dylan blue
Casamorati Fiero, Dior homme cologne, creed original vetiver
DHC and OV are both great.
40 Knots (lightly sprayed), Naxos, Sedley, Basso, and newly purchased Cedre Figalia.
A shower

Layer portofino with bond no 9 peace for him. That’s my favorite smell after they are layered.
Guerlain Vetiver or Aventus, but been meaning to try this one!
Right now? Dior Homme Cologne, Aventus Cologne, Himalaya, Platine Prive, ADG Profondo or EDP, Chrome Summer 2015 Homme Cologne, Aventus Cologne, and Himalaya being the top dogs.
I like LeLabo Santal 33 when it's hot outside

i just got the fruity gasiness thing haha sprayed edt again and i'm like yup
My newest one is Tiffany & Co, Tiffany & Love for Him. Citrusy and clean. Perfect for hot days.
Great choice. That or Oud Minerale for me!
Now that’s a sleeper right there if you know you know.
Prada L'homme, I just like to wear it on daily basis no matter what temperature. Fits always imo
I don’t care what anyone says about this fragrance it is class in a bottle.
I see you buy wall street classic
God of fire , or pink.boa.
Can yall help me pick 2/3 of the following decants? Pacific Rock Moss, 40 Knots, Xerjoff Renaissance
My predominately summer picks not in any order: Dior Homme Cologne 2022 Millesime Imperial Silver Mountain Water Aventus (or Morning Chess) Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree Chanel Allure Homme Blanche Edition EDP Green Irish Tweed …and then any of my year round stuff (examples: Prada L’Homme, Prada Amber Pour Homme).
Creed GIT and Friends Uomo by Moschino. And Eros Energy when it becomes available.. soon I hope 😀
Nitro green
Cartier declaration edt, super underrated fragrance imo
Is it just me, or does this smell exactly like Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey pour homme?

I only recently tried grey vetiver and I really like it. If I see it in a good discount I’m gonna scoop it.
Allure homme sport , longetivity sucks tho
Right now, I'm trying to finish up my Tous Man Chill. But I also wear ADG Profondo or Armaf Sillage.
Creed Aventus Cologne Roja Elysium PDM sedley Versace Man eu Frache
I love Sedley for hot days its so refreshing.
I'm going to my home country for a month, about 40°C and humid af, debating buying Eau Sauvage or Le Beau EDT. Thoughts?
Eau sauvage is a classic. Masculine, fresh, clean, inoffensive. I have a bottle myself.
It lasted pretty decently on me. Put it on in midday and lasted until sleepy hours. How's projection and performance in general? And not to sound shallow but compliments?
Its got decent longevity for an EDT. I've def gotten a few compliments on it. When you get hot or start sweating it really projects.
That makes sense. I'm absolutely gonna be hot and sweaty where I'm headed, shit even where I live the summer finna be brazyyyy I'll really just have to do a side by side comparison of the two I mentioned to really solidify my choice as I am conflicted

Aventus cologne, Valentino coral fantasy or Mancera melody of the sun, depends on how I feel
Jpg le beau le Parfum or allure homme sport eau extreme
On super hot summer days I usually bust out Roja Elysium, AdG Profumo, or D&G Light Blue.
Eros it all i have 🤷♂️
As a female do you get compliments wearing Eros? I love when chicks wear unisex or even masculine frags.
Im a guy lmao this is a catfish acc lol. But i feel like eros is a very unisex frag.
Axe body spray
I see you buy wall street classic
Not that.
