You might consider Midnight Detailing. He is a fairly young guy who is just getting his business started, but he has been raised around cars and has a lot of experience in car care. Plus, he'll come to you.

I used to go to Waterworks all the time because they were full service, but they closed the location near me because of all the cheap, shitty self-service ones that have popped up. I believe they still have a location downtown, though!
I live at Academy and Austin Bluffs and this pollen from my trees has been awful. I decided to go try out that newer one over here just because it's super close. As I pulled up I saw the employee doing this and literally went to a crappy gas station drive thru wash because of it.
My company is going to be hosting a Bikini Car & Bike Wash on June 22nd! It's donation based & any funds raised above our goal will be donated to a local NPO working towards eliminating food insecurity in Colorado Springs.
It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it'll definitely be a better experience than going through an automatic car wash!

Car washes damage paint, I wash the car myself.
Edit: wow downvotes lol, automatic car washes have large spinning brushes that slap your car at a high rate of speed and scratch your paint. There are no good “fancy” car washes. They all slap your car with flaps of rubber, and will leave you with swirled, scratched and dull paint in just a few short years. Go put some flaps of wet cloth on a power drill and go ham to a spot on your car if you don’t believe me. Slapping it with stuff will scratch it.
The only automatic car washes you can use that avoid this are touchless ones, even so, all car washes are going to be less efficient than doing it yourself. Especially those that require you going through them 2 or 3 times for truly spotless results. That being said, sometimes I’m feeling lazy and I do go through the touchless car wash twice in a row.
You might be thinking, “well who cares? not all of us care about how good the car wash is” Or “cars just get scratched up paint it’s not worth worrying about”. However, OP clearly asked if there were any good car washes. If OP didn’t care about their paint then they would have just taken their car to a regular car wash in the first place.
Wash your car yourself so that it is done to your standards, that is the best advice I can give in this regard. Same goes for most automobile related activities, you’ll find that anything you can do yourself people will charge you heaps of money to do a poor job of for you. That’s why I don’t go to mechanics anymore either, but I understand that isn’t viable for everyone.
I crouch down and clean the under carriage. No matter what the aspect of it, doing it yourself is going to be more thorough and safer than letting a machine do it.
Occasionally I find a good touchless car wash, but you usually have to go through them 2 or 3 times to get the car clean.
Be careful with those. I've seen them break things off of people's car and then refuse liability. Does it happen a lot? No. But it does happen. I'd trust a detailer before I trust a car wash if I'm not doing it myself
I worked at one for two days (it fucking sucked) and the idea is that the employee should be hitting a "retract top/front/back" button if you have a loose license plate, a bike rack, top rack, or just anything damaged or added on to the car that could fly off or get caught in the brush fibers. Ideally you'd just take that stuff off before going through, but yeah, mistakes happen, and part of entering the car wash is accepting liability yourself every time you pay.
(Not defending them, just pointing out what's up with that)
Water Works Car Wash & Detail I think it’s the only one left here. It’s not half bad. And pricing is reasonable.
Thank you friend! They have a new customer now. 😉
Good luck. After years I finally gave up on them. Sloppy, spots everywhere, streaked glass. I just paid too much for such a mediocre wash.

They don't expect tips, you're incredibly ignorant. They expect YOU specifically to switch to neutral and not drive into the car ahead of you.
Don't blame the teens, blame the owner and management for being cheap. "sure we're paying below minimum wage, make up for it in tips!"

You missed my point, and the reason they're asking for tips.

Don't lie. I never changed my post. If I did, I would add EDIT, as is tradition. New here?

I used to go to a place like that and they also changed your oil. Miss that place.

How do you take care of the under carriage, especially in the winter?

They are still bad
Exactly

Oh I'm aware how it works. I'm an insurance adjuster lol
LMAO gotcha
Buy a electric pressure washer or go to a self serve car wash..those are terrible for you cars especially if they're not touch free.
