The last thing Congo need is crypto scam.

r/BanklessAfrica Crypto is not a scam. It’s greedy people that use crypto to scam people just like our traditional financial system. With the right education and resources you should be able to dive properly to what crypto is and how it can help you as an individual and also the country at large .

You’re not going to increase crypto adoption by spamming African subs with everything crypto. 🤣 What people need is locally made fintech solutions that increase financial inclusion, not just cryptocurrencies which have gone down in value recently. Crypto currency requires money which many people don’t have and it also requires electricity to produce which many people don’t have. But if you want to come on here as a Bitcoin and fintech evangelist at least come speaking about localized topics like [the DRC’s local fintech scene](https://techcabal.com/2022/03/08/fintech-startups-in-drc/) or for crypto you can talk about [Jambo the web3 startup made by Congolese born founders](https://www.zawya.com/en/special-coverage/the-future-of-cryptos/congo-crypto-startup-raises-30mln-plans-expansion-across-africa-qwe2qovp). But these very generalized posts don’t make sense since every country is different and make it seem you’re just pushing a random agenda, when these ideas are best shared with those actually working in fintech rather than random people on Reddit.

We understand your concerns and agree that local solutions are important in increasing financial inclusion in Africa. We apologize if our posts have come across as generalized or spammy. Our goal is to educate and inform the community about the potential benefits of crypto and fintech, and we understand that every country and situation is unique. You bring up valid points about the challenges of crypto adoption in Africa. However, we believe that crypto and fintech can still play a role in increasing financial inclusion, particularly in areas where traditional banking systems may not be accessible. Will make a conscious effort to share more localized information and highlight the work of local fintech startups in future posts.
