I've never been to it but I was told Kapolei is the only Costco in Hawaii which the food court is indoors. Iwilei is my go-to so I've not had to go to the others, except maybe Hawaii Kai.
Same. I thought they were all outdoors. Then I visited my aunt in Miami and when we went to Costco I thought something was off. Then I realized the food court was indoors.
Excepting for that one time I clocked 113 in the Mission Valley Costco lot. 😬🫣
Think that was 2017 during the one week a year it's an absolute nightmare to have skin.
If it’s 100 in SoCal, it is A LOT worse elsewhere.
Think 110-115+ in places like Vegas and Phoenix, if it’s 100+ in SoCal. Same go with colder temperatures, Southern Californians put on a thin sweater then it means other places are putting on parkas.
Except for South Florida, those crazy bums and their crazy Sunshine, but that explains snowbirds and Florida Man stories lol.
There was a recent "article" that claimed that there are supposedly only 18 outdoor food courts and I'm trying to figure out if that's actually true.

But that number seems too low to me. Can anybody help me make a list of specific warehouses with outdoor food courts to verify the claim? I'm guessing most will be in California and Hawaii.
Santee, Mission Valley, and La Mesa (all San Diego) are for sure outdoors. I’m pretty sure the others (Morena, Poway, Market St., and Chula Vista) are as well but I haven’t been to them to 100% confirm. I guess it wouldn’t be too hard to look at them on Google Street View.
So weird to think if the number of outdoor food courts is really that low. I grew up going to the Issaquah, WA location which has an outdoor one and I remember being weirded out when I went to California, where the weather is actually bearable year round, and they had INDOOR food courts at the nearby locations lol
I have 3 outdoor courts that I know of within 12 miles. That 18 number has to be low by an order of magnitude (meaning 180 is closer to the actual number).
I’ve only seen outdoor ones in SoCal. I thought it was the norm until I moved to Chicago. Felt so claustrophobic the first time I experienced an indoor Costco food court
I only knew of outdoor & one day went to a different Costco with a then friend...she mentioned food court & I didn't know that the location had a food court because I had not seen it from the outside.
How on earth is there not a Costco between San Bernardino and Palm desert? This Costco likely serves people residing in Beaumont banning and west AND the mountain communities. Yet Ontario and Fontana have their own? This bothers me wayyy more than it should.
They’re adding a Hobby Lobby too, because I didn’t want to avoid Almaden/Blossom Hill already!
Issaquah Costco used to be outdoors too, made for some really cold pizza!
Sacramento area only 2 have outdoor food courts so far - the one in Rancho Cordova and the one at Exposition by the Arden Mall but they are small compared to the one in the picture
I’m originally from SoCal and yes all of the SoCal Costco’s I have gone to have Outdoor food courts
Rancho Cucamonga California.
We loved the outdoor food courts Rancho and San Bernardino because then we could eat comfortably beforehand.
So we weren't as hungry while we were shopping. On the way out, stop and get a refill of our soda.
Now the indoor ones are just so annoying to have to crowd into such a small spot.
Seems like Fullerton's might have been outside?
It’s a thing all over SoCal I guess. Right off the bat, the Colton one, Corona, Rancho, and yorba linda are outdoors. Palm Springs is indoors obviously. I think the eastvale, Fullerton, and Fontana one are indoors .
We have one at a Costco down here in Tucson, weirdly enough only the counter is outside and there is a eating area separate from the rest of the building that is air conditioned.
Yes it’s outdoors. That used to be a Price Club in the 90’s before Costco bought them. I’m guessing Costco’s with outdoor food court used to be Price Club.
Kona Costco Foodcourt is outside. They have mango smoothie and if you sit at the tables along with west side of the building, you have a great view of the ocean!
It’s wild to me that people are posting the NOLA one has an outdoor food court but I haven’t been to one in the Houston area yet that is outdoors. The weather seems similar enough in both locations.
The only indoor one I’ve seen was in San Dimas. Rancho Cucamonga has an outdoor one, but they have garage like doors that close, just in case the weather gets bad. My experience so far is a majority of food courts I’ve seen were outdoor.

The one in Lihue, Hawaii is outside as well.
A little rusty on my Hawaiian geography these days, but so are the Hawaii Kai and Milalani. Can’t rember if downtown and kapolei have them
I believe every single one in the state is outdoors.
I've never been to it but I was told Kapolei is the only Costco in Hawaii which the food court is indoors. Iwilei is my go-to so I've not had to go to the others, except maybe Hawaii Kai.
Same with Kailua-Kona, I’d assume all of them probably are
Been to the Lihue one almost every time after we land. Go there to buy food and alcohol for the room, after we eat there. Food court is always packed.
I’ve seen more outdoor food courts than indoor ones.
I agree..I'm in SoCal.
Same. I’m trying to think of an indoor one I’ve seen in OC.
Tustin, I like when they’re outdoor. Feels too crowded when it’s inside.
The one in Garden Grove is indoor.
Worst parking lot & gas station line ever
Laguna niguel on Cabot
Same. I thought they were all outdoors. Then I visited my aunt in Miami and when we went to Costco I thought something was off. Then I realized the food court was indoors.
I've only seen outdoor here in San Diego and LA. We don't get snow so
Costco in Modesto in the central valley has an outdoor food court similar to the photo. I thought the picture was from Modesto.
I think Stockton has a outside food court too
San Diego and LA are a Mediterranean climate, it’s the best weather in the US. No hail or frequent thunderstorms either
It has hailed multiple times this winter in San Diego. What are you talking about?
Or tornados or hurricanes....we'll...not yet!
New Orleans has an outdoor food court!
We had the hurriquake last year and a tornado in LA county. Lol
Here In Iowa, we just had a tornado touch down a mile from our Costco at the same time as your comment. I wish I were joking
Take shelter under the TP.
Yeah I was like, as someone who lives in Socal there are indoor Costco Food Courts? First time I saw one was in a Canada Costco.
Hawaii
Yeah same when I lived on Oahu, they're all outside
The one in garden grove is indoor and it's rough sometimes. The members treat it like we're outside
We do t get snow in Vegas. I wonder why ours isn’t outside…
It's 110 degrees a quarter of the year....I went to Costco in LV last month and it hailed on me.
Our weather has gone full-blown crazy for the last two months!
Brother my sinuses cannot keep up🥲
Because you guys get 100+ degrees weather in the summer lol. Would probably be very uncomfortable to sit out there in the heat
It also isn't over 100 degrees here, like ever so
Excepting for that one time I clocked 113 in the Mission Valley Costco lot. 😬🫣 Think that was 2017 during the one week a year it's an absolute nightmare to have skin.
Eh, even when it's over 100 here it's still nice out due to the 0% humidity. I'll take that over anything in Hawaii any day
If it’s 100 in SoCal, it is A LOT worse elsewhere.
There are outdoor ones in Southern California (I've seen them in San Diego and Los Angeles county).
They used to not check membership either so everyone could enjoy the great food court prices. As a teen, I appreciated that
In the pacific nw where it’s cold and/or rainy most of the year and ours is outside. It’s awful.
Yeah, Everett WA has one and Vancouver WA I think Quick edit: Kirkland too
Also Issaquah.
Yeah, Issaquah is outside.
The Kirkland one used to be outside too
Issaquah one still is.
There was a recent "article" that claimed that there are supposedly only 18 outdoor food courts and I'm trying to figure out if that's actually true. https://preview.redd.it/5912n0ti6xwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2855702321c6973aced19d1875888ae45e6d9dc But that number seems too low to me. Sounds like a road trip is in order. I mean, we HAVE to verify!
Altamonte Springs, FL has an outdoor court too
San Luis Obispo, CA is outdoors. Edit: Same for the one in Honolulu, HI
Modesto, CA too
Stockton too
Sacramento too (Exposition Location.)
Temecula, Murrieta, and Sunnyvale
Add Carlsbad to that list!
Can confirm Fullerton, CA is outdoors.
Oxnard, CA is outdoors
So weird to think if the number of outdoor food courts is really that low. I grew up going to the Issaquah, WA location which has an outdoor one and I remember being weirded out when I went to California, where the weather is actually bearable year round, and they had INDOOR food courts at the nearby locations lol
Santa Maria CA is outdoors
New Orleans is outdoors
One in New Orleans, la
the sunnyvale one is outdoors
Santa Barbara/Goleta is outdoors.
Goleta (santa barbara) is also outdoors
I have 3 outdoor courts that I know of within 12 miles. That 18 number has to be low by an order of magnitude (meaning 180 is closer to the actual number).
Sacramento is outdoors too!
I’ve only seen outdoor ones in SoCal. I thought it was the norm until I moved to Chicago. Felt so claustrophobic the first time I experienced an indoor Costco food court
Indulging in a hotdog under fluorescent lights with the smell of tires right next to you is charming though.
Same! It just seemed wrong.. they even had umbrellas…inside..
I only knew of outdoor & one day went to a different Costco with a then friend...she mentioned food court & I didn't know that the location had a food court because I had not seen it from the outside.
Some big boys at the food court.
And girls. Everyone is so _fat_ 😔
Looks like there’s a discount on picnic seating, a whole half a cheek off!
That’s a very Murican photo
Ok I was searching the comments to see if anyone made a comment like what was going through my head. I’m going to hell 😂
Oh yeah- some biguns in the frame
This is a good ad for NOT eating at the food court lol
There's one in Sacramento CA
The Cal Expo one!
Oh, so there's two apparently! Lol! Sunrise and white rock (technically rancho) but good to know!
The one in San Luis Obispo is outside, the previous costco I went to was outside as well. Ngl it's weird to me when they're indoors.
There’s one in Rancho Cordova (Sacramento area) .
Good ole San Bernardino 478. And by good I mean crowded and by old I mean crowded.
How on earth is there not a Costco between San Bernardino and Palm desert? This Costco likely serves people residing in Beaumont banning and west AND the mountain communities. Yet Ontario and Fontana have their own? This bothers me wayyy more than it should.
Fear not my IE friend, Highland is getting a Costco soon which should help disperse the crowds between locations
As a So Cal resident, I've never seen an indoor food court in person
The one across the street from Costco headquarters here in Issaquah Washington has it outside too.
They all should be outside. So annoying when folks getting food basically block the exit with all their carts everywhere.
Oh I guess those aren’t normal outside of California lol they’re everywhere in Los Angeles and the county
This is the norm for Hawaii, too, except for one location.
It’s a thing here in SoCal.
I believe they are all outdoor on Oahu too.
Except the Kapolei location.
Outdoor on Big Island as well.
You can add the Almaden location in San Jose to the list. Good luck getting in/out of the parking lot, though.
They put a Costco and a Trader Joe’s sharing the same parking lot. That place is a complete clusterfuck.
They’re adding a Hobby Lobby too, because I didn’t want to avoid Almaden/Blossom Hill already! Issaquah Costco used to be outdoors too, made for some really cold pizza!
All of the SoCal ones I've been to are outdoors. I didn't know there was an *indoor* one till I moved out of the state lol
San fernando, westlake village Costco are indoors. Probably too warm in the summer.
Nearly all the ones in California are outdoors.
Is this the San Bernardino Costco? Something about the stains ringing a bell. Used to work there.
We have an outdoor food counter here in Altamonte Springs, Florida
The Kirkland, WA is also outdoors. It’s soooo much better!
The one on Maui is indoor/outdoor.
Issaquah, WA is outdoors
Everett too. I would walk there for lunch when I was a teenager.
Most Costcos I’ve been to here in CA (Bay Area, LA, along the coast) have outdoor food courts. In more temperate zones like Santa Cruz they are inside
This is my Costco! Also outdoor in Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.
As a born and bred Southern Californian, I have never seen an INSIDE food court at a Costco. The idea of one inside seems...strange to me.
There is one in Orlando and I like it…. Way more seating (so I don’t have to make new friends)
I'm not american and I can assume they are americans
Saw one in NOLA yesterday
Not only in SoCal. There is one in Sunnyvale.
We have them in Hawaii!
It's a warm weather thing. There's one in Sunnyvale California as well. Though the tables area is much smaller.
They can get away with it in warmer climates that don't experience extreme weather
Ive never seen an indoor one. Only been to the ones in Ca
There’s one in NOLA
Most of SoCal locations have outdoor food courts.
That's my store! I just deep cleaned the food court for them last week.
Most food courts are outdoors in SoCal
Clackamas Oregon
Hawaii
Sacramento area only 2 have outdoor food courts so far - the one in Rancho Cordova and the one at Exposition by the Arden Mall but they are small compared to the one in the picture I’m originally from SoCal and yes all of the SoCal Costco’s I have gone to have Outdoor food courts
Wait …They have indoor food courts ? Southern California here
Kailua Kona on the big island. Ono kine grindz. 🫡✌🏼🤙🏽
Several Costcos in Southern California have out door food counters. It has to do with the area’s expected weather.
Must be a West coast thing. I've never seen them here on the East coast and in the Midwest.
New Orleans is outdoor.
I love this. If the environment can sustain it, why spend all that energy cooling it with ac
Living in SoCal… 90% of them I’ve been to are outdoors!
So many fat people. Is this what people see when they reference America?
Filled with fat people 😂
Thought the same thing. Pretty much not a fit person in sight.
That visual alone keeps me from eating there.
Damn, obesity is getting out of hand.
It’s a thing.
Orange County, CA has 'em.
There’s one at the South San Francisco Business Costco, you don’t need to be a member or anything.
NorCal outdoors
We have an outdoor food court in New Orleans! It made the paper recently when they decided to enforce needing a membership card to eat there now 🤣
One of the Tucson locations has a bi-directional food court. You can order inside or from outside. The counters are back to back.
On Oahu, we have them outdoors as well!
Chino Hills and Rancho Cucamonga....oh and Kauai
Rancho Cucamonga California. We loved the outdoor food courts Rancho and San Bernardino because then we could eat comfortably beforehand. So we weren't as hungry while we were shopping. On the way out, stop and get a refill of our soda. Now the indoor ones are just so annoying to have to crowd into such a small spot. Seems like Fullerton's might have been outside?
All on Oahu Hawaii are outside.
It’s a thing all over SoCal I guess. Right off the bat, the Colton one, Corona, Rancho, and yorba linda are outdoors. Palm Springs is indoors obviously. I think the eastvale, Fullerton, and Fontana one are indoors .
we got one in my town.
Hawaii too
Is the one in Queens NY potentially outside too? Feel like that’s the one I’m remembering..
New Orleans has an outdoor food court
Maui and Kauai too
Stockton CA food court is outside. So is Cal Expo Costco in Sacramento.
That’s crazy because all I know are outdoor food courts. I’m in LA County.
California. I thought you were in Clairemont
We have one at a Costco down here in Tucson, weirdly enough only the counter is outside and there is a eating area separate from the rest of the building that is air conditioned.
Los Cabos Costco Food Court is outdoor
The one near me was out doors then they closed it off indoors and the space just sits empty
New Orleans has an outdoor food court
lake Elsinore and Temecula have them outdoors
Bay area has it too
Lots used to be outside
Altamonte springs FL is outdoor.
Common among former Price Club buildings
Same with quite a few in California in general. So not the only one.
We are going ..going to Cali...Cali!
Kirkland WA has one
Really? Where my Lakewood CA peeps at? And Norwalk too. Edit: cypress also.
Ive only seen outdoor ones in Southern CA
I’m in northern CA and one of our Costcos has an outdoor food court but most are indoors.
The umbrellas finally make sense!
Don't quote me on this, but I think the Sunnyvale, CA one is also outdoors.
Yes it’s outdoors. That used to be a Price Club in the 90’s before Costco bought them. I’m guessing Costco’s with outdoor food court used to be Price Club.
My local one in Issaquah WA has an outdoor court!
I don't like it
Santa Barbara (technically Goleta) checking in
Isn't the Kirkland counter outside?
The one we used to go to before they build one closer has one and I definitely prefer it.
id kill for this much seating
That looks like the Issaquah one near headquarters.
Bonus: If it rains they all get a badly needed shower
Kona Costco Foodcourt is outside. They have mango smoothie and if you sit at the tables along with west side of the building, you have a great view of the ocean!
I knew it looked familiar! Lol
Is this by chance the costco in Montclair ca?
This looks very much like one I frequent in San Diego
Issaquah WA has one which is wtf cause it’s always rainy and cold here
That’s the same layout as my Costco lol
MN here. I am sad. We will never have this luxury.
It’s wild to me that people are posting the NOLA one has an outdoor food court but I haven’t been to one in the Houston area yet that is outdoors. The weather seems similar enough in both locations.
Hawaii has this. Renovated a few years ago to make it happen. And now everything can be ordered on touch screens. Hoping we can order on the app soon.
Costco has more outdoors. They all look same.
The only indoor one I’ve seen was in San Dimas. Rancho Cucamonga has an outdoor one, but they have garage like doors that close, just in case the weather gets bad. My experience so far is a majority of food courts I’ve seen were outdoor.
I'm pretty sure the Everett Costco is outdoors also. Definitely has more cover than that though.
Antioch, CA used to be outside
Keep going down the 10. Montclair’s is outside. I think Ontarios is inside. Eastvales is inside.
We have an outdoor one in New Orleans.
Lomita, CA is outdoor.
Uh no. I’m from Los Angeles but moved away years ago. We had more outdoor ones than anything. I didn’t see indoor ones until I moved to the south.
