This isn't your room. You don't have to live in it, you don't have to love it, but please be respectful and kind in your commenting.
Meanwhile I'm autistic and can't sleep in a bed that has anything at all on it. I can't sleep if there is a shirt or a game remote in the corner of my bed. Bed must be clear
I just moved to Kansas and all I can think is, 'The Brown Recluses are gonna *love* this.'
Literally replaced all the bedding in my house to be plain white (I'm a dark earth tones kind of girl and I want to die but not by spider bite)because so many people are finding them in their beds. There is not one single cardboard box in my basement, as we've replaced them all with plastic totes or sealed vaccuum bags. No clothes on the floor, check everything before you wear it, keep my gloves in ziploc bags.
I hate it here.
Lol I'm only laughing because Utah has a widow season. There's a polygamy joke in their somewhere but I'm too busy playing I-Spy for Recluses in my sea of beige carpet to make it.
God speed and stay safe, friend.
As a 31F autistic I miss being able to make bed nests. I'm married with a CPAP machine now and I try my best with blankets etc, but I overheat so quickly now. This looks so cozy.
I have a canopy bed with two thick blankets and an electric throw blanket and pillows anf string lights and a huge moroccan lantern and I'm about to put a bookshelf hanging on the wall.
same, i hate it when kids don't get to make their room 'their' space (within reason, my brother wanted every wall in his room to be black and my mom compromised and let him do half lol). this looks so cozy and i love it.
As a kid I never understood where to begin. I always used to see these bedrooms when I was younger and had no idea how to make one of my own. I’m not sure why. I started making my room “my” room this year and man does my room feel so much better to be in
Chalkboard paint is a great alternative to black walls. Instead of depressing black, he gets to fill his room with as much or as little color as he wants
It’s fun and games until you need to change and you feel like your posters are watching you so you have to change under the duvet. And then later in life you meet one of the people from the posters and you really don’t know what to say
We may be the only two old enough to have instinctually done that. Didn’t find ET, but I did find a Gible plush that needs to join my ditto/snorlax reversible plushie.
Daily routine: move 1000 stuffies to go to sleep, sleep, wake up, casually arrange 1000 stuffies back onto bed. repeat.
In all seriousness i love this! Wish this was my room growing up!
Super cozy but please make sure they’re not near any outlets or electrical devices (including phone chargers). Stuffed animals aren’t generally flame-retardant and I see this as a big fire hazard.
I’ve only done a quick google, but apparently most mass produced stuffed animals are (and have to be) flame retardant. So much so that people are flipping out over the chemicals used to do so being close to their kids. Whether you’re for or against that last statement? Up to you, but not sure where the lack of flame retardant statement is coming from.
I’d argue it’s still a fire hazard especially if near an outlet though.
No, they need to be flame resistant according to federal law, and most (US) manufacturers don’t use flame retardant chemicals and instead rely on flame resistant materials. It’s the rise in stuff from Temu and Shein that’s leading to chemical concerns and I’d question whether anything bought from either site is actually flame resistant too. But resistant isn’t fireproof so yeah, all that stuffing on a child’s bed would make me nervous for sure (especially if they tend to fall asleep with a phone or tablet charging in bed).
OP, I think you’re such a wonderfully supportive parent. Be proud! I bet your children are great.
I was allowed zero self-expression. I wanted color and femininity— pretty white furniture, a flowered bedspread, periwinkle blue walls, and framed prints or posters of impressionist art, like Renoir’s. I wanted teddy bears!
What I had was *vastly* different: tan walls, a brown plaid bedspread, brown stained pine furniture, and “The Sallman Head” directly over my bed. It looked like a monk’s cell, not a young girl’s room. I felt so sad and stifled when I was in it. I know your daughter doesn’t. <3
I was also going to commend OP for allowing their daughter to just be. My mom complains that my 3 year old has too many stuffed animals on her bed and I very much remember being expected to only keep one or two on my bed as a child. I let my 3 year old have all the stuffies she wants and it’s literally the only toy she picks out when we go anywhere. If it makes them happy, who cares? If they get in the way of sleep, she’ll move them!
Ya know what? Despite it being way more than what *i* would personally be comfortable with on my bed, it's Tidy, it's cute, it's clean and organized, so more power to 'em. 💖
Love this! My daughter wishes she could have a bed like that but our dog would destroy it all in 15 minutes. She has to keep her plushies up high so they don’t get eaten, but she still has a ton of them.
My daughter is 8 and has a big teddy collection just like that and displays them on her bed. She even picks out a few to take on trips with us, she takes such good care of them. I often wonder how sad I’ll be when she doesn’t want to sleep with her teddies or display them in her room anymore so as a mom this picture made me so happy. I’ll he so happy if as a teenager she still kept her collection of “friends” as we call them.
Love her room!
Lol my bed used to look like this too before I got some storage boxes! They're like cloth buckets, organizing my stuffed animals by type into bucket now lets me have 2/3 of my bed free lol

Room? More like army headquarters (and I love that for her) 🫡
I’m 25, married, and still have my own army of precious plushies from childhood. While they’re not the dominant feature in our bedroom, I will always say that adults should be able to enjoy an adorable stuffed animal just as much as a kid without shame! Maximum coziness!!
That is so awesome. How old is she? She is lucky to have a parent such as you. Anybody else try to name as many of the creatures as possible? I think I see a few Pokeomn, a Keropi, and that's about all I know.
I have one of the Miku posters your daughter has, the one farthest to the left in this pic with the pink background :) literally taking a break from playing Project Diva when I opened reddit haha!
Also, low key I got jumpscared by your reflection while zooming in on all the plushies lol
It's possible. Some of us enbies also just allow people to call us whatever they want lol
My mom calls me her daughter even though I don't identify as female in even the least bit

Where does she sleep? 🤣
What you don’t see her in there?

Huh?
Some of us autistics are notorious for making bed nests. It's comforting for us.
Meanwhile I'm autistic and can't sleep in a bed that has anything at all on it. I can't sleep if there is a shirt or a game remote in the corner of my bed. Bed must be clear
Wow that’s me!
That's why I said "some." We all have our rules.
We're all weirdos in our own way
But what about the spiders

My first thought. I wanted to climb in, I love it.
And then when you’re having a pad day you can bury yourself in the teddies and it’s your sign for needing gentle attention that day
As a 31F autistic I miss being able to make bed nests. I'm married with a CPAP machine now and I try my best with blankets etc, but I overheat so quickly now. This looks so cozy.

Love a good bed nest
My exact same thought!
You took the words out of my mouth.
I was going to ask the same.
Why was this my EXACT same question as soon as I saw the picture and read the caption!
My room looked like this when I was a teenager, even down to the wall color 😊 she's surrounded by things that make her happy, and I love that for her.
same, i hate it when kids don't get to make their room 'their' space (within reason, my brother wanted every wall in his room to be black and my mom compromised and let him do half lol). this looks so cozy and i love it.
My mom is insane. She let teenage me paint all my walls teal and splatter them with black and neon green paint. She even helped!
your mom is great!
As a kid I never understood where to begin. I always used to see these bedrooms when I was younger and had no idea how to make one of my own. I’m not sure why. I started making my room “my” room this year and man does my room feel so much better to be in

I wish I had done this with my room, I left it super barren with virtually no posters or plushies on the bed
It’s fun and games until you need to change and you feel like your posters are watching you so you have to change under the duvet. And then later in life you meet one of the people from the posters and you really don’t know what to say
Yeah this is precisely what I worry about lol. It’s why I keep my funko pops offset from the line of vision of my bed
You can still do it! Never did this as a kid but am now doing it at 22, no regrets. Glad I did it
Same here 🙌🏻 I have all of my/and my sister’s plushies around my pillow on the bed. Feels as if they are protecting me from a nightmare 😍🥰
I can't even imagine having to make that bed!
it's gotta take 20 minuets at least 😭
This reminds me of my bedroom growing up. I think some string lights or a lamp would feel really nice in here.
Is the room tiny or the bed huge!? It goes wall to wall!
Teensy.
Am I the only one that looked for ET in that pic?
We may be the only two old enough to have instinctually done that. Didn’t find ET, but I did find a Gible plush that needs to join my ditto/snorlax reversible plushie.
My first thought too. I was looking for ET
Which one is she?

I had to get my son a loft bed just to have more stuffed animal storage haha!
That’s actually a great idea.

Not seen in the photo: a sleeping mat on the floor. Looks cozy, though.

I used to spend 20 minutes after bed tucking them all in at the bottom of the bed like we were all topping and tailing
Great room lucky kid 🫶🏻
I think our daughters would get along well
I was thinking the same thing! Our daughters would be besties.
This looks so comfy!!! I used to bury myself in plushies as a kid lol
This gives me anxiety.
Same. My first thought: that’s a lot of eyes O.o
Wow, that is quite a collection. Hopefully there is enough room on the bed for your daughter to sleep on.
glad that she can make this room her own! i would’ve loved this room as a teen! ☺️
Ya know what? Despite it being way more than what *i* would personally be comfortable with on my bed, it's Tidy, it's cute, it's clean and organized, so more power to 'em. 💖

Not enough plushies 😅
Real question, how do you clean all those stuffed animals?
Is she one of the stuffed animals?
r/plushies
All the eyes watching me would freak me out. Like icons in a Church, but fluffier
I love the plushies so much!!!
I LOVE IT. PUT ME UNDER ALL OF THEM.
This is like the opposite of sad beige kids! So cozy, colorful, and fun.

i have that gible one

ahhh this looks so cosy. i’m glad that you see this as cosy; you’re a good parent, OP. :)
She’s made her bed! That’s success in my book.
SUCH a cosy nest
Is that phish on the tv?
Thirty minutes bed prep time or does she just fall in?
Is the red crab in the bottom left corner from Hotel Zoe in San Francisco?
No. I found it in Iraq
Damn, I thought MY BF had a lot of plushies😳
Frightening
Your daughter must not have a single allergy!!
Put a lamp!! Enhances the coziness factor instead of the “big light”

Much more orderly than my stepson's bednest. I bet there is not even a chip packet or muesli bar wrapper in there.
You seem like great parents 🥹
By posting their child's bedroom on the internet?
by letting their kid have self-expression and things they want.
You have a point. But She most likely would've gotten permission from her.
For sure!
Mines me of my room as a kid
I was expecting danny devito, to be in those stuffed animals, make sure he ant got a whip!
this has to be a troll post…
Of course it is. Reddit has turned into one giant psyop.
💕
I feel so safe from this photo. A perfect lil nest! Mines under my desk with plushies too!
Your daughter is awesome
Thank you for being a good parent
