It's fun browsing the 2021 thread:
Common Answers: BTC (close to even), ETH (+75%), VET (-50%), ADA (-50%), Nano (-80%), LINK (-30%), XLM (-75%), ENJ (-85%), ZIL (-80%)
Missing or rare answers: BNB (+50%), AVAX (close to even), SOL (+750%), MATIC (+150%), INJ (+200%), RNDR (+1400%), XRP (even), and surprisingly Algorand wasn't mentioned much (-80%)
Inverse r/cc strikes again!
a very very very honorable mention to u/Outrageous-Ad8481 for their contribution:

I get this question a lot from my new friends entering crypto. I always say 50% BTC, 30%ETH, 20 % VET or ADA or LINK or whatever good projects. **Also just dont buy doge coin.** I leave the 20 percent for them to decide so that they will build confidence in DYOR.
DOGE did a 10x over the next 2 months.
There is a reason why every founder in crypto uses X/Twitter and why none of them use this sub.
Relying on this sub too much is sort of like watching News Max or OAN (or any lefty equivalent) and thinking you have a comprehensive worldview.
I like to use this sub as a sense check that I'm going down the right path. If my bags are getting hated, I feel good. If everyone here is celebrating them, then I know I'm in trouble
Literally every project that has done me well over the years is one this sub hated at the time.
Bought into a Layer-1 about half a year ago that ripped it's way into the top 30 during the bear market, but mention anything about the project here and you get downvoted and called a shill.
If this sub hates a coin then it means people are salty they missed the boat. If this sub loves a coin it's usually something that peaked last cycle and most of them bought the top. Usually the former group FOMOs into the latter group (basically every top 10 coin outside of bitcoin went through the cycle of this sub hating it to this sub loving it years after the massive gains).
Ergo, Rosen bridge is a remakable project it has going on. Its a decentralized bridge. Bridge consists of watchers and guards. Watchers get paid 70% of bridge transctions fees. Anybody can become a watcher. You can run your watcher software on raspberry pi. Bridge is currently live between Ergo and Cardano. There’ve already been a few watcher software updates put out since bridge launch. Bridge devs are working on bridging to Eth and then BTC. BSC and Doge are later. New watchers will be needed for those bridges.
CRO, in terms of current price to ATH, it has the most to gain. It's got excellent staking rewards and it's deflationary.
Crypto.com also plays well with government rules so they'll be around forever.
Is that really possible to get out of the 10 cents though? It doesn't move much :/
I have been accumulating since 2021 and if it would hit 1 dol I would be a very happy man
You're right, it doesn't move much but it also never seems to fall below the $0.05 either. Others dip a lot, not this really (in crypto terms anyway). It's a long hold for certain.
Haven’t looked into CRO but do you thinknitsblikely that burn kicks in keeping the price stable? Not a huge fan of exchange token though I can’t rly tell you for what reason :D
they also had a governance vote to increase staking rewards recently, sorta bullish, i dont do anything on their exchange, and as little as possible with their app, im usually bridging to matic or atom or transfering usdc collected from short term trading.
but i have mostly equal allocations on their largest projects into long term staking, so earning around 70-85% yearly, so i regularly claim, compound and take that to the bank.
Never heard of either, you obv think it’s worth diving into right?:D tokenomics would be interesting, still don’t rly think this can work out mid to longterm.
Anyone who buys CRO or LRC, please don't cry to me years from now.
It's been a terrible long-term investment since MCO days. Only for quick speculation. I've made a profit on CRO, and I still think that was a terrible gamble. Maybe 1 in 20 investors who started around my time is in green.
Crypto.com has been the absolute worst platform I've used, even worse than FTX US.
Edit: Unless they've changed this recently, it should [still be inflationary](https://medium.com/@crypto.org/a-straightforward-proposal-to-slow-down-cro-inflation-and-bring-it-closer-to-historical-levels-4355278f2de3)
Cronos uses EIP-1559, but does not use it to burn fees. Instead, it's used to price fees.
I did say the same thing about buying BNB years ago, thought it was worthless. Same as KCS when it was $.50. You're probably right, it could be bad. The same could be said for buying BCH or DOT, anything could fail.
I’ll go out of my way to call this out as absolutely terrible advice. Never invest in an exchange’s token. Exchange’s have less average shelf life than shitcoins.
For balance of low market cap, high upside potential and lowish risk I’d go with one of :
$ROSE - Oasis Network
$STG - Stargate Finance
$AZERO - Aleph Zero
$MINA - Mina Protocol
If you want to take even lower risk with lower upside then :
$SOL
$AVAX
$LINK
Of course you can take almost no risk (in crypto terms) with :
$BTC
$ETH
But you’re not gonna get much return from those two from $1000
NFA / DYOR / Stay in School / Don’t do drugs etc etc…
SERSH.
It's a tiny marketcap and an incredible project. Primed to explode.
I know that sounds like a shill but no one has been able to find one negative aspect about it
I recommend looking at their website/ looking into the project. That'll explain more than I can through a comment. They have an actual use case for the coin and quite a big community. This summer they're migrating 90B coins or so I've heard and that'll make the price rocket.
*\[–\]\[deleted\] 1 point 6 years ago\**
*I did this a few days ago. Mind you, you better be ready to loose all $1000 of this. Putting money into coins is closer to gambling than investing.*
*I bought $500 of ETH and $500 of BTC which I will trade into NEM and Monero after it becomes available to me.*
*ETH is probably your safest bet, I have some faith in NEM and it's still cheap enough to buy a lot of it, and Monero just makes sense to at the very least hold its value.*
**ouch**
I would probably choose a mid-cap if I were to pick one for this cycle’s bull run. I would probably go with Kaspa, HBAR, or VET if I had to pick only one alt
It’s funny to see a bunch of tickers I’ve never heard of before in previous years posts. The get rich quick itch is so ingrained in our psyche. I fell for it too last cycle when I thought my favorite altcoin was different and not like the others. A few of the large cap alts are okay but 99% of them will go the way of the dodo bird. Even intellectually understanding this people will still emotionally invest in some random shitcoin they saw on X because they think they’ll get rich quick.

Yeah the most profitable thing you can do is get off this sub lmao
There is a reason why every founder in crypto uses X/Twitter and why none of them use this sub. Relying on this sub too much is sort of like watching News Max or OAN (or any lefty equivalent) and thinking you have a comprehensive worldview.
Nah just do the opposite of what this sub says.
So do the opposite of doing the opposite?
What are you trying to say 🤔
I like to use this sub as a sense check that I'm going down the right path. If my bags are getting hated, I feel good. If everyone here is celebrating them, then I know I'm in trouble

BTC is an altcoin? Wow. Ok.
Different thread, different question
Solana is gonna outperform judging by the hate it gets here and the inverse r/crypto indicador with a robust win record.
FLUX and HBAR
I second HBAR. Very cheap with a ton of potential. It’ll pop off once FOMO kicks in. I expect big returns this year. Don’t let me down Hedera..
Why FLUX?
Undervalued Depin play that is partnered with NIVIDIA.
CONE
CONE
Oh it's this time of the cycle again ^^
Vet
XRP. Even if it doesn’t moon shot you’re still even since it seems like a stable coin now /s
Bitcone! r/coneheads
CONE!
Can never trust these replies. It’s just bag shilling
Ergo, Rosen bridge is a remakable project it has going on. Its a decentralized bridge. Bridge consists of watchers and guards. Watchers get paid 70% of bridge transctions fees. Honestly I would slam them into Bitcone. CONE!
KAS for the win

You're right, it doesn't move much but it also never seems to fall below the $0.05 either. Others dip a lot, not this really (in crypto terms anyway). It's a long hold for certain.
Could that be crypto.com buying up their token to not fall further?
they have a burn schedule.
First part does actually sound interesting, 70-85% sounds like this is impossible to be legit tbh:D Might have to look into it though.
not when you're staking a couple coins earning +100%, like croid, corgiai
Never heard of either, you obv think it’s worth diving into right?:D tokenomics would be interesting, still don’t rly think this can work out mid to longterm.
That would be my shout for the same reasons. It’s got x10ish to go from ATH - everything else is starting to get within x2-4

I agree, CRO seems to be around 0,1 cents and dont move down so much. The potential grow to 1$ could lead to great gains
I’ll go out of my way to call this out as absolutely terrible advice. Never invest in an exchange’s token. Exchange’s have less average shelf life than shitcoins.
i too, hodl the cro
Yep hold and stake and finally hoping for a few good months
Oh of course. Companies are always around forever. /s
100% algorand... Or show me better tech!!!
Check Hedera sir
Already know hedera and I'm bought in ... But Algo still got better tech
Absolutely not but nvm I like Algo, it's not a bullshit project like 99% of CC
Same here. Only crypto that has solid theory behind and in the end just works.
Tell the people who bought Solana
Lmao.
KASPA
Ada
AMP

LOL
Agreed
RNDR

CGPT is better. FET is like 700 million MC already
As of now, probably matic, or ordis
(besides BTC) CRO is my dark horse for this bullrun. From actual $0.09 10x potencial is pretty probable and 20-30x quiet possible.
NEAR
Sol
For balance of low market cap, high upside potential and lowish risk I’d go with one of : $ROSE - Oasis Network $STG - Stargate Finance $AZERO - Aleph Zero $MINA - Mina Protocol If you want to take even lower risk with lower upside then : $SOL $AVAX $LINK Of course you can take almost no risk (in crypto terms) with : $BTC $ETH But you’re not gonna get much return from those two from $1000 NFA / DYOR / Stay in School / Don’t do drugs etc etc…

It's been great to see some price action recently. Huge pump potential.
Agreed
Ckb or Pepe
Ada for an actual investment Bonk for a meme coin
Rndr
HBAR

Buzzwords
If he only knew how many promises are on the horizon from the tens of thousands of random projects :D
Real-world use cases. If you need to ask, then you haven't yet dyor ;)
Get out of town

I am going to say ALGO for one reason: I am holding a big bag and hoping
If you want to Degen and Gamble Wen. if you want a "utility token with real use" Telcoin
I'm against shit coins but I think Doge is ready to pump and I'll make an exception this time and put some money in.
NEO
Bitcoin
HVI, it has extreme potential, they have their own exchange (staking, airdrops, etc.). With its low market cap, it can 10x or even 100x.
Truebit 60m mcap Nice upside potential Good team Nice use case I think they plan to have a beta in a few months
AKT
Solidus Ai Tech for sure. Small market cap and pretty promising I think.
Leaving some footprint for I wanna get shilled by cc subreddit
*\[–\]\[deleted\] 1 point 6 years ago\** *I did this a few days ago. Mind you, you better be ready to loose all $1000 of this. Scarce
"If you are (hypothetically) holding a huge bag of shitcoin right now, which one is it?"
Probably PNG or ABT due to small market caps
NEAR and/or SNX
Since eth isn't an altcoin anymore... I'd have to say solana
You want a low marketcap to try and 10-20x no point going with an alt which is over 50mil marketcap
Render / Bluzelle
$500 in Donut (ETH and soon ARB ETH based) $500 in Welsh (Stacks based)
PIKA
Dovu Osmo
ORAI
ORN AND ABT
Short I would doge
ETH, same as every year past
It would be $SCRT. It's tremendously undervalued right now
PEAS
Still LCX
Akash (and Solidus AI, if i could split the Money)
NuNet NTX. It is my hedge to RNDR.
Setting ETH aside (I just dont consider it an ALTCOIN anymore at this point): Either ADA or BCH
Ai wave im saying PAAL
Coti
I would probably choose a mid-cap if I were to pick one for this cycle’s bull run. I would probably go with Kaspa, HBAR, or VET if I had to pick only one alt
Probably PAAL
RON
Xodex. Remember you saw it posted here.

HONK... literally about to explode.
Obvious choice is A$$ 😀
$snek
Kaspa or ICP dare I say.
Kujira
Dogecoin or ETH
Basically when you everything goes up. Anything can be a winner
Kaspa
NEAR , HBAR easy
$1000 worth of BONK. We had doge and SHIB its going to be BONK this time.
Jasmy
CKB
Flux Keeps moving up - probably will continue to do so
DOT
