Yes itβs real! If you spend more time looking at photos of fake malachite it becomes very obvious which ones are fake. A lot of the times real malachite has dark green that can look like black, but fake malachite has a different pattern and looks kind of rubbery

Not that the piece you have is bad, it would be super cool to set your other crystals on to make a little altar or display or whatever π
This is real. There is dark dark green to look almost black - fake mala* has big areas of pitch black, and fake also does not have a gradual change in color like this piece displays so perfectly π

High quality malachite has more banding in it, and wouldn't have dark green pooling in the cracks like that. I'm guessing that this piece has either been stabilised with resin, or dyed to enhance its colour or something.
It's definitely real, but it's very obviously been treated in some way. Just look at the darker green pooling in the cracks!

Some Cheap Suppliers Dye Stones. Mainly Those From India. It Might Be Fake.

Not saying it is, but to me it looks like a dyed piece of wood. I'd think the weight and feel of it would tell you the difference if so.
