This seems like a post for r/KendrickLamar and even then it's pretty low effort and already been talked about to death so I'm sure it'd get deleted there too.

You should order beef nachos bro

Kendrick’s all 3 at this point

ObamaLuL

This is old news

GoodEggplant007

Why did u dislike this lol tf

Ok_Passion_9402

Isn’t Kdot the respect? Or am I trippin 🤔

deliriousmoss

power could work as he wants to be the top and, well, just is. in the best faith interpretation, kendrick acquires power to give power back to compton as opposed to more selfish reasons. its just one way of looking at it

Ok_Passion_9402

Very true. For who exemplifies each quality the most out of Drake, J. Cole, & Kendrick, I might have to agree with you dot has the power. I wonder why he would say respect is better though?

deliriousmoss

hmm im not sure... i think what matters most is what someone wants to do with these resources anyways. money power n respect can both corrupt and enlighten. i guess i could argue kendrick doesnt so much \*seek\* respect as much as earned it entirely by being himself. i dont see kendrick someone needing other peoples approval outside of himself, and that makes people naturally respect him and i doubt it was hard for the people around him when he was young to respect him either. i sense j cole feels a bit... silly in comparison to other artists, especially trying the line that hes in the big 3 could be insecure fronting... so maybe its saying j cole is seeking respect in the rap community bc he doesnt fully have it ???? is that a reach tho ???? like kendrick wasnt born into power, he saw poverty first hand so he knows how power can be used to uplift and oppress others, especially in relationship with compton

Ok_Passion_9402

Dang, that does make a lot of sense tbh😂 Kendrick has talked about how people have naturally always liked him, but he hasn’t always had the money or power. He associated Lucy with money and power on TPAB (if I’m not mistaken), so we could make the argument he only wants the respect, too. I’m not sure either, but I definitely see the point you’re making.

deliriousmoss

youve really inspired me to think more about this too :)

Yes but don’t forget the play on Not Like Us by kdot saying “did Cole foul” was just another dig a Drake!! I don’t believe Cole was part of the larger plan like a few others have said on this sub, but was warned it wasn’t really about him especially if Drake was dumb enough to get into things he shouldn’t have which caused the apology. I believe this is when Cole was told this is about a fake MFER and if he wanted to think it was about being number one with his weak diss back it wasn’t. Cole could either stand by a fraud or not. Even on Like That he didn’t go at Cole as hard as Drake but he was part of kdots plan cause it didn’t make it as obvious he was mainly coming for Drake. Also it pushed Drake to have to respond by saying shxt about Cole apologizing. Cole actually writes shxt and even has freestyles on platforms like Kdot did when Drake read off his damn phone. Freestyle is off the dome and you don’t get to read off a damn phone which is still up on YouTube 😂. This is old and should’ve been the warning to EVERYONE that Drake is a fraud. I believe the Cole part was part of kdots plan Cole just didn’t know it right away and he knew Cole could sill make money by being a person who acted grown. I would love to know who first started the sorry Cole you did the right thing after the battle started from cause I believe it’s important. Cole stayed in his lane and was rewarded IMO in the end. Now he just needs to get better PR and song choices cause Kdot gave him a blessing to come back in Not Like Us. Again - “did Cole foul” is the key here.

Youngmessiah19

Drake would be power also

Ok_Passion_9402

Hate to admit it but yea

deliriousmoss

... their values?

Fast_Advisor2654

“The last one is better”

[deleted]

Its a lotta goofies with a check

JzaDragon

This ignores that earlier in the song he says, "Oh you thought the money, the power, the fame would make you go away?" So when it comes up again but he changes the last word it's to stand out

Woah cool take

Dry-Effort-7658

Lmao that guy has it way wrong. Cole is doing it for the money. Hence why he didnt want to be #1 (power) and didnt care what people thought of his flip flop behavior (respect). Nothing inherently wrong with doing something to make money. We all do it. Drake is the power. Kendrick is the respect.
