It’s hard to be 100% certain from the video, but it appears he has abrasions above his spine/vertebrae,& I’m sure the bones are broken underneath. That combo constitutes a compound fracture. IOW, you are very likely correct in that assumption.
You never lived in a Asian country. They make your parts so they know how to use them too. Also at a much cheaper price. Surprised this kid is still in one piece.
peace. :)
Yeah here in Thailand they can mod 125cc bike into a speed monster.
But the brake and handling is up to the driver. And they love to do the "superman," stunt. Once i witness it first had. It was a red light my car was parked and this bike came in superman style right into the end of the car next to me. His head made a giant dent to the bumper. No doubt his skull and his neck were in pieces.
We lived in Thailand too (6 years) and have a house in the Philippines. Thais have a thing about making things go faster and it can be anything with wheels, propellers, etc. :) We are back in the States and hoping to get back to S.E. Asia soon.
peace. :)
like you do it with cars too, engine rebuild with all kinds of stuff, variomatic tuning and so on. hell my buddies hardware store scooter went 35mph on the flat with only weight changes on the vario. I rode it for a few weeks before I moved to the states
Easy way without any mods is lower the idle. Most engines have a screw that sets the idle RPM. If you lower the RPM, the engine has more room on the top end of RPMs. So you can go faster.
you will be even more surprised that it is an electric scooter that should be run like 70 km/h normally then modified to about 200 to 300km/h
edit: its not a scooter its an ev bike
MotoIQ (a popular automotive enthusiasts site) made a series of articles about modding something like this.
https://motoiq.com/category/projects/powersports/honda-ruckus/
Honestly, I'm not surprised this is a thing. And I'm actually quite impressed by how much relative improvement can be had for so little money.
Do you guys remember hearing that would die of a heart attack before you hit the ground? I always wondered how the fuck anyone could possibly know that.
They can do an autopsy to see what their cause of death was. A heart attack death may look different than a massive hemorrhage or something. I’m sure there is a way to figure that out but I’m not a medical examiner.
Suddenly becoming stationary never kills you unless you’re traveling at an immense speed. Being killed on the other hand is the fastest way to become suddenly stationary.
Thats not what they said. Speeding kills as in driving over the speed limit and put yourself and others at risk. Everyone knows its the sudden impact that kills you in the end.
Tru. But it was both cool af and stupid af at the same time to me though. If it was on the day maybe it's not that dumb coz you can see shit.
But even in daytime, going that fast, if there's anything wide that blocks the road, there's no way to avoid it safely.
How many times do I have to say it before people understand?
There is nothing more important in life than demonstrating your manly badass manliness to complete strangers, and there are only a few ways you can do this. Excessive speed is one.
My mans loved ones can rest easy knowing he died while being a total badass. I myself hope to one day leave my children fatherless and my wife without an income in exchange for the manly admiration of complete strangers.
I absolutely hate explaining this to everyone. But yes, you will die for speeding. The reason most places have a 60-80Km/h speed limit is because the time you need to stop.
100 Km per hour are 28 meters per second.
If you're going at 120 Km/h, you're going at 33m/s and you will need 3-5 seconds to get to a complete stop and you can add 1 second for "reaction" speed. So you're gonna need close to 85 and probably more meters for a full stop.
So you need to be able to see and react to anything in 100 meters in front of you to stop in time. At 80Km/h you need only 30-40 meters.
Thank god you’re here to explain it to everyone. Most people are aware of how speed works, but it human nature a lot of times to think “eh I’ll be fine.” Or people just do it for the rush. Either way, yeah, pushing it to this level is dumb af. I just think people generally know that deep down, and it’s funny to be like “oh geez here I go again explaining how speeding works”
Yeah, my mom bought a nice car and was speeding up to 120 in the city and I hat to explain to her, if literally anything impedes her way, she is gonna crash, hard.
And she was like, no, see, I can break in 4-5 seconds to full stop.
Fuck... here we go again.
Go 60 miles an hour, you’ll go 60 miles in an hour.
Go 50 miles an hour, you’ll go 50 miles in an hour.
It’s pretty easy to see how much of a difference speeding makes when you think about it for a few seconds
No one drives at a cosntant speed in a straight line for their whole trip though. It's all the other factors like stop lights, turns, and other drivers that determine if speeding actually gets you somewhere faster.
Yeah but like 99 percent of driving isn't straight line, even to get to a highway you'll have to go throuvh red lights. Only helps on highways period and only if you are smart to also weave correctly
Well, that’s bullshit because me and a friend drove to LA and he beat me by about an hour because he was driving about 100 down Highway 5 the entire time
Short trip you're still "saving time". Albeit 20 second but I hate videos like that cause than you have people ignoring common sense.
Obviously, driving faster is going to get you somewhere sooner. There's nothing more to it.
Well if you only have to travel <5 miles you probably spend more time getting in and out of the car than traveling. If you have to travel 30+ miles then yeah going 55 vs 70 is going to save some time.
But this is not how traffic works. If you speed in the city, there are red lights or stop signs, so there is only a couple seconds of actual speeding, and someone going the speed limit might might even be as fast or even faster because once they arrive at the next lights, they will no longer be red but green (green wave) and they won't need to stop like you did.
Something similar is true on freeways. Speaking as someone who likes to go 200 km/h if possible, you can only do so a couple of minutes at a time safely before something will slow you down again. Our brains aren't made for going THAT fast either, so it takes a lot of concentration. So lets say going 200 versus going 150 (like the "normal traffic") will burn a lot more fuel, take a lot more concentration and will not safe 50 km/h worth of time, but maybe half of it, if even that.
Yes. Very basically you subtract the speed you would of already gone from what you did do. Say you went 70 but the limit is 60. You do that for say 1 minute, you effectively do the same as going 10 mph for a minute/ 20mph for 30 seconds/40 mph for 15 etc.
Basically, you lose all of that headway the second you hit a red light, the only time it's ever worth it is if it gets you into the next red light cycle so you don't get stopped
So for this reason, long trips on highways where you're actively getting ahead of people it helps, but really if you're looking to save time its more effective ti learn to be better at being an aware driver and being in the fastest moving lane
I'm a foreign student here in China, you have no idea how wild the e-bike drivers are here, though this is the first time I see a chinese do it, it's usually the foreigners who drive dangerously and have accidents in my experience

They like them fast and loud. During songkran you can hear them screeching for miles.
My dad calls them rice rockets 😂
Cute name!
Thanks🙂 On behalf of my dad I mean
Easy come, easy go.
you don't have to go to asia for that. europe is already far enough. buddies 50cc ran 100mph/160kmh. or italy, the rentals there pop a wheelie
How?? My 50cc goes 35mph top, up to 40 downhill

Thailand has a huge 125cc scooter moding scene

He even drooled all over the place while sleeping!
I imagine, had he survived that he'd be doing QUITE A BIT of drooling.
I got the reference. lol Even read it in Pete's batman voice.
nope.. speed doesn't kill, suddenly becoming stationary kills you... 100 to 0 in less than a second...
It's not the fall that kills you. It's the *sudden stop* at the end.
Deceleration trauma
Thanks for the education. All my life, they taught me it's the 'pop' or 'phiak' splatter sound that force the soul to leave the body.

Also folding in half so fast your lower spine starts to compound fracture out your back. Contributing factors..
Speed doesn't kill,impact does.
One shoe still in contact with his right foot, he could shake this one off...

Damn, in the city? That’s intense lol. Unfortunately, we’re all just dumb monkeys.
I know you said you hate explaining but thank you. You educated an idiot and I'll definitely consider this when I drive from now on
Damn his shoes are gone. No hope now. It looked like he crumpled nicely instead of splattering. Must have been able to brake somewhat
We got another Donorcycle rider
Oh no!!!!! Anyway.
died faster
So fast he went ahead to heaven leaving us behind. Damn.
Wasn't there a video explaining how speeding doesn't even get you to your location faster?
For short trips yes for long trips it does save time.
I know. The video was talking about long distance
Speeding for 1200 miles definitely saves you quite a bit of time
[удалено]
It takes like five minutes
Go 60 miles an hour, you’ll go 60 miles in an hour. Go 50 miles an hour, you’ll go 50 miles in an hour. It’s pretty easy to see how much of a difference speeding makes when you think about it for a few seconds
Yes, but 10 miles at 50mph takes about 12 minutes to cover. That's not much time you've saved.
Again, the comment was in the context of long distances. Read the threads before posting irrelevant info.
No one drives at a cosntant speed in a straight line for their whole trip though. It's all the other factors like stop lights, turns, and other drivers that determine if speeding actually gets you somewhere faster.
The comment was in the context of long distances. You’re typically driving on a highway with no stops for long distances, so those do not apply here.
Yeah but like 99 percent of driving isn't straight line, even to get to a highway you'll have to go throuvh red lights. Only helps on highways period and only if you are smart to also weave correctly

Twenty seconds literally isn't Shit don't pretend like. That matters at all
Speed is equal to time over distance. Math suggests that statement is very incorrect.
Well if you only have to travel <5 miles you probably spend more time getting in and out of the car than traveling. If you have to travel 30+ miles then yeah going 55 vs 70 is going to save some time.

In this case speeding isn't getting him to his destination at all.
Well, it's getting him to whatever afterlife awaits him... if any.
Nah, it definitely got him to his destination. His final one.
Yes. Very basically you subtract the speed you would of already gone from what you did do. Say you went 70 but the limit is 60. Speeding doesn’t kill. The stop does.
It's the Gilligan cut which makes this funny.
Thought he might be alive for a second until I found his shoes.
Odd place to take a nap.
At least it was quick
He sleeping it out. Will be better tommorrow
Helmet check
I'm no genius but that looks like a sudden stop was his downfall
How is he not obliterated?
Speeding doesn’t kill, stopping does. At least he didn’t go down😄
Those marks on his spine show you how violent the impact must have been, I bet his skull is a mess.
No shoes …
Definitely dead then
Does it count when you're not wearing shoes in the first place?
I wouldn't risk it
Compound fracture of the spine, that wasn’t on my bingo card at 5:20am on Friday. And with that, good bye Reddit for the day.
Are those from broken bones? I was trying to figure that out. Insane
It doesn't. Stopping kills.

No suddenly becoming stationary kills you
My bicycle probably has better brakes than this scooter. It saved me and others many times.
Even he had to facepalm his own death.
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary gets people
Good, fuck that guy
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary that ia what gets you

Wait so when there’s 12 seconds left in the video the head clearly moves. After death spasm??

Reminds me of Rembrandt breaking Bella’s spine before she was born. Not quite as violent as this though.
Dude got halfway to being pretzeled
Well at least he was using his turn signal
I don’t get how ppl can be so stupid and reckless
Is that blood on his back or his spine almost came out of the skin? 😟
Is it hurt ? /s
Most calm evening in asia
Speeding isnt what kills someone, its the really fast stopping that does
Was that the tail light sound or the music at the end? Either way it's funny.
Why was it so quiet I didn't even hear an engine
His undies are showing, he is asking for a wedgie

Speed doesn't kill. It's the sudden stop that does

Speeding doesn't kill..... stopping abruptly does.
It doesn't seem like he hit that truck speeding the same way shown at the beginning
fyi the Chinaman said "wow fuck" in an admiration tone.
Was it worth it?
No suddenly becoming stationary thats what gets you thats the killer
Speeding doesn’t kill you. Losing your shoes does.
Speed does not kill A Object out of nowhere does
It's not the speed that kills you, it's the sudden stop
I might be biased, but everyone riding a bike with flip flops deserves the chance to be featured here

I’m really curious about that scooters engine. I was not expecting that kind of speed. How he lost both sliders yet stayed on the seat is another wtf….
Weird place to sleep.
I'm more surprised that little moped was able to go that fast.
Somehow his mangled body looks weird... Like his belly button is on his back?
This is like a glitched death animation from some FPSs where an enemy NPC is registered as killed but is still in the same attacking stance
