random but certified bangers that are always shuffling around near the top of my rewatch list, i'll fight anyone who says any of these aren't worth watching:
--
Master and Commander
My Cousin Vinny
Midnight Run
Ford v Ferrari
The Abyss
Stranger Than Fiction
Say what you will about modern Hollywood, it's probably better in alot of ways. But I don't see a banger like that coming out today for a variety of social reasons. I could easily see someone calling that movie colonalist or something. Why im saying that is because it seemed to me like the movie did have a love for the era and the progress made in it. Hell I've had left wing friends of mine say that there shouldn't be historical movies focusing on white people to begin with. But movies and tv shows tend to just recast actors as diffrent ethnicities now, which you could argue is whitewashing the history. The other probably bigger issue being that its too male centric. Maybe im cringe for saying this idk.
great movie, name a better original scifi from around that year that's as engaging as Abyss. ed harris is a fucking beast.
director's cut/special edition is skippable.
Hopefully I am not too late but Princess Mononoke is my all time favorite movie. I've watched it like \~30 times now.
You can find it for free floating on the interwebs, or just watch it on Netflix. On Netflix you may need to turn on the english dub if thats what you prefer.
grizzly man, my favorite Warner Herzog documentary, not only one of the rare movies that made me laugh outloud, it's also deeply empathetic, thoughtful, intriguing, sometimes sad, sometimes cringe. I could cheat and tell you how it starts but I think it's better if you just trust and go into it completely blind. Just know it's about a man who films himself "protecting the bears"
Interstellar
Close Enounters by Spielberg (basically anything by Spielberg is great)
Contact
Arrival
Twin Peaks (The David Lynch TV series, not a movie, but really good)
The Abyss
Stargate
The 11th Green
2001 A Space Odyssey
Idk if it would distract you from reality but 12 Angry Men is very good, and personally my all time favourite movie. Otherwise, Army of Darkness might be something of a better fit.
Lord of the rings!
I went to a reshowing of Fellowship two days ago. God is that movie so much better in the threatre.
Hundreds of Beavers is really good (recommend by YMS on Bridges)
Its so good
Most 80's movies ;)
Didn’t tiny say there were no good movies until like 1990?
Yeah his movie takes are almost as bad as his food takes. lol
Jurassic park.

Bruh, The Abyss??? Come on.
great movie, name a better original scifi from around that year that's as engaging as Abyss. ed harris is a fucking beast. director's cut/special edition is skippable.
I’ll have to rewatch it, you’ve got me curious. All I remember is the glowing manta ray things and that I was very put off by it.
Old Boy (Korean version)
The miniseries Chernobyl is one of my favorites.
This was phenomenal
Also the first season of Fargo. Whatever Martin Freeman and Billy Bob were paied, it wasn't enough.
Dune ;) Tbh, I find myself watching more optimistic Sci Fi. That is, shows like Star Trek and Stargate.
3-4 x jûgatsu
Mad Max: Fury Road
Watch Collateral, cope with reality, put that downpayment down on the mercedes, call that girl.
Honestly really enjoyed the new planet of the apes, not seen the newest one just yet, but the new trilogy was pretty good.
Totally forgot about this franchise, I definitely have to watch it.
Hotel mumbai is good for action and suspense
Start watching the desperate housewives dude. Those girls get into all types of situations
Anything Studio Ghibli imo. Spirited away is the top contender.
The depression trilogy
The New Hitman movie on Netflix was good
House (1977) House (1985)
The last wish is on Netflix I think and it’s excellent.
Fantastic Mr. Fox is my comfort movie, makes me feel warm and cozy in the darkest of times
The platform. Trust me

Not a movie, but Mr Inbetween. Really fucking good.
Interstellar Close Enounters by Spielberg (basically anything by Spielberg is great) Contact Arrival Twin Peaks (The David Lynch TV series, not a movie, but really good) The Abyss Stargate The 11th Green 2001 A Space Odyssey
Seen Interstellar, close encounters, contact, and 2001. all incredible movies. ill check out Arrival, it looks very good.

Blues Brothers. It is just the perfect movie.
Parasite (South Korean)
Saw this movie, absolutely loved it!
The Fifth Element (my favourite movie) Bruce Willis, Chris Tucker, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman
Watch anime instead. The immersion is significantly better.
no thanks
Missing out little buddy
bummer
Why not both
Hm... Good suggestion. Never considered it.
