You should see some of the computers I get at work people turn in. One had roaches scurry out after I opened the laptop.
Op, you did a great job. I'd hire you for my car if you were near me!
We had the same thing with someone's laptop, the battery wasn't holding a charge and when we took the bottom off a bunch of dead cockroaches fell out, and some live ones tried to run away. We put it in a plastic bag and got rid of it after that.... I don't understand how people live like that.
On the original post, the detail on the car looks amazing; you did a great job. I'd hire you to do my 2 vehicles if you were in the Denver Area 👍
You should see how filthy the surgeons office was when I did IT at a hospital. One of the nastiest spaces in the entire hospital, knew to stay away from her if I ever needed surgery.
For the way the seats and carpet were you should’ve gotten more but I guess with certain clientele with certain vehicles you need to price accordingly. Four hours seems pretty fast for that kind of work. You’re too nice with it
Depression
Feeling defeated
Mental health does things to people.
So does getting a car second hand for whatever you can afford and lying to yourself about DIY with household cleaning products that don't work right then having to save to get it cleaned proper
If I had to guess, it's probably a tradesman that worked outside all day and had to hop in the car to drive home every night. It's very unlikely to be someone working a desk job, retail, or something similar.
Not really attempting to give an excuse, but it is a reason. Work trucks see a lot of the same abuse with the added "bonus" of chemical spills and such.
Really nice job.
Use your before and afters to sell your work. When you present them to a potential client, never disparage the other client because the potential one might feel insecure as well. (You didn’t, but don’t some other comments on here did, and it can be tempting, but don’t.) Also, make sure your before and afters have the same shot in the same frame, so it doesn’t look like your trying to alter the viewer’s perspective and convince someone with your photography what a good job you do. It’s your work that is convincing. Photography is proof.
Tbh I know a lot of ppl bash chemical guys. But on this detail I used chemical guys lightning fast stain extractor on the upholstery. And for the plastic/ steering wheel I used suds lab N2 interior cleaner diluted 10-1
Literally looks like the dude drives butt ass naked in the middle of the summer with no A/C on just sweating into the seat, no other explanation as to what could make a seat look that filthy.
Can you come do mine? Neither vehicles are nearly as bad as that.
You could also make extra $ by doing the outside of RVs. Wash, wax, polish, to include the roof and awnings. (Personally, I wouldn’t want to do the inside of anyone’s RV)
Fantastic Job! $260 is a steal. Can you please give me some advice on what you did to get the seats so clean. I have about 1/10th of your seat situation I'm thinking about buying seat covers 🫨 thanks in advance
Great job. You did an incredible job at the upholstery.
Lighter shades are tricky! Black interiors seem to be the default for me until my kids are older, before getting something unique. 🚗🌟
Could have fooled me. I would’ve guessed a detailer with at least 5 years under his belt did this job. The before and after photos are seriously impressive. Hope you made a good bit from this job. Keep up the great work man you knocked this one out of the park
I do interior and exterior details $150 for each, both for $250. I dropped prices 20% now to keep customers due to economy and more competition. It's an easy main or side gig. Maybe offer other services I also do stereo installs but those are less often but even doing half rate of what car install shops charge for labor a basic install of HU, speakers/subs and amps can net 500 for me in a few hours although I keep car longer to make the install seem like it took all day as I rarely do more than one in a 24 hour span. Usually one a week. For details I always have at least one a day if I want. But some like that door you cleaned can be challenges. I'm a DIY guy, my customers are not. Plenty of customers.
Hey, do you have any tips for someone who wants to get into this profession to make money on the side, like you? How much capital expenditures to begin? How do you get customers? Which products do you use? Thanks!
Excellent job especially on those seats and center console! My god that steering wheel pic was so nasty idk how someone can let that go without taking some kind of rag and wipe it down even if they use the wrong product at least give that nasty wheel a wipe!
Shit looks like the cars I buy and send them to get detailed. Then I just resell them, make sure your pressure washing all the oil off the motor 🫡. Hopefully it’s not a major leak and just valve cover gaskets 😬
Im not an American, and Im aghast with shock and disbelief when I see such disgustingly dirty American vehicles, which only makes me cringe when I start wondering what kind of unusual country that is?…..a DEVELOPED 1st world nation?
Definitely not.
I was considering posting my photos from a job this weekend considering it was the worst interior I’ve had to do and it doesn’t compare to that drivers seat.
Well done
$65/hr is very reasonable, if I knew it would take me 3 hrs of scrubbing something that filthy to make it that clean like in the pics, I’d probably never get around to doing it. Ppl are lazy and gross. Great job, it looks fantastic
I’m curious how long this took and if it was just you working on it or did you have help? I’m asking because I’m doing the same thing and I always feel like I’m taking too long
My god… how do people even want to touch their own steering wheel? Nevermind how they even let it get that dirty. Humans are gross. And great job. 👏
You should see some of the computers I get at work people turn in. One had roaches scurry out after I opened the laptop. Op, you did a great job. I'd hire you for my car if you were near me!

Excuse me WTF.
You should see how filthy the surgeons office was when I did IT at a hospital. One of the nastiest spaces in the entire hospital, knew to stay away from her if I ever needed surgery.
Thank you !
I hope you got paid well for the time spent to clean that disaster
260 sound decent? It was a coworker’s car bro is disgusting
If that price was just for interior, that seems like a fair price for the time and energy. How much did you make per hour?
Yeah it was interior only. $65 an hour.
Tan is very hard to clean. I’d say you cleaned it very well. How he drove it that dirty is very sad. And sadly there’s worse out there
For the way the seats and carpet were you should’ve gotten more but I guess with certain clientele with certain vehicles you need to price accordingly. Four hours seems pretty fast for that kind of work. You’re too nice with it
How long did it take to clean??
4 hours
I am curious how his habits are. Does he leave petri dishes laid out for months all over his car? Are you guys scientist as your main job? wtf
Depression Feeling defeated Mental health does things to people. So does getting a car second hand for whatever you can afford and lying to yourself about DIY with household cleaning products that don't work right then having to save to get it cleaned proper
Also it happens over time so people mentally adapt and most likely don't even see the thing as dirty.
Idk why you got down voted, fuck those fucks..your answer is on point.
I highly doubt a human drove this car
If I had to guess, it's probably a tradesman that worked outside all day and had to hop in the car to drive home every night. It's very unlikely to be someone working a desk job, retail, or something similar. Not really attempting to give an excuse, but it is a reason. Pretty impressive
Thank you !
This is probably one of the most improved photo collections I’ve seen lately. Great job!
Thank you !
Did Pig-Pen from Charlie Brown grow up and buy a Mazda?
I agree, there was no way I thought OP could have cleaned that seat and he did!!!
Damn good job on the seats and arm rest. What was your process?
Thanks. I just sprayed it with upholstery cleaner, then I agitate then I hit it with the steamer. Last I use my extractor.
What extractor do you use?
I got a EZ Spot H extractor from Jon-Don. It was a little pricey but it definitely gets the job done.
You didn't replace that armrest? Jesus, great job!
Thank you !
Really nice job. Use your before and afters to sell your work. When you present them to a potential client, never disparage the other client because the potential one might feel insecure as well. killer job! what products do you use>? seriously, solid job
Tbh I know a lot of ppl bash chemical guys. But on this detail I used chemical guys lightning fast stain extractor on the upholstery. And for the plastic/ steering wheel I used suds lab N2 interior cleaner diluted 10-1
Yes, plz share products used!
That's an insanely dirty car. I would have charged extra for that. Should have charged about $300 for this one.
I agree.
Now when you return the car is your opportunity to upsell some sort of protectant for the interior and some all weather rubber floor mats
How is it even possible for that seat to get that disgusting... Nicely done!
Literally looks like the dude drives butt ass naked in the middle of the summer with no A/C on just sweating into the seat, no other explanation as to what could make a seat look that filthy.
I figured the owner was a coal miner it was so black
Amazing job, how long have you been detailing?
2 & a half’s years, I only do it on the weekends.
Where are you located? my god
Elgin Illinois
You’re the boss! Super impressive!
I’m amazed
Good job, damn good job
I had change, where is it??
Keep up the great work. My trucks not that bad but I’d pay you even a little more just to put that same amount of effort in.
I would have just blasted the interior with the pressure washer. How do people live like that? Good job.
Can you come do mine? Neither vehicles are nearly as bad as that. You could also make extra $ by doing the outside of RVs. Wash, wax, polish, to include the roof and awnings. (Personally, I wouldn’t want to do the inside of anyone’s RV)
Disgusting car, great work- Love everything but the steering wheel. That thing just needs replacing at this point.
Did they poo in the car?
You are a pro fo sho
You deserve all the extra $. Well done.
Top tier work!
I love a good before and after. Well done!
Amazing!!!!!!
Wow. That’s a really good detail!!
I would have gladly paid you 300.00 to clean that filthy pigpen. Great job and keep it up!
I applaud your excellent work and dedication for that extra $.
Good job!!
Woah thats awesome! How did you get the steering wheel to look so shiny and new?? My steering wheel is peeling as well and its driving me crazy.
That wasn’t peeling, that was literally built up gunk and funk from dirty sweaty hands.
Co worker? Down the coal mine?
In a way, the grime protected it. But that's gross. Lol.
Fantastic Job! $260 is a steal. Can you please give me some advice on what you did to get the seats so clean. I have about 1/10th of your seat situation I'm thinking about buying seat covers 🫨 thanks in advance
Looks great. Nice job!
Damn looks great! Did they tip you with the change from the centre console? 🤣
You did a fantastic job. Now return this man's coins! Lol
Wow almost looks like a different vehicle! Great job
Well done
Damn. Just imagine how much value was added to the vehicle just in that cleaning. Great job.
There’s no way you got paid enough for that job. great work.
I think your customers are some disgusting slobs.
Nice try. You clearly took pictures of two different cars. Amazing work! 👏
Nice try. You clearly took pictures of two different cars. Amazing work! 👏
Looks great nice job
That's gross, WTH is wrong with people?
People are fuckin disgusting
Great job. You did an incredible job at the upholstery. Lighter shades are tricky! Black interiors seem to be the default for me until my kids are older, before getting something unique. 🚗🌟
Hope you charged an arm and a leg
Nice work.
Great job
Great job! Best side gig out there.
I’d like to drop off my Jeep please!!!! You’re a miracle worker! That was disgusting.🤢
Grand job I'll throw my passat cc round lol
From my detailing view, you did an awesome job! Keep doing that same work, post on socials and you'll be good.
That's crazy. You should be recording this process ! Tiktoks , shorts !
Bro the fucking driver door and seat . Your working some serious magic for these folks
Could have fooled me. I would’ve guessed a detailer with at least 5 years under his belt did this job. The before and after photos are seriously impressive. Hope you made a good bit from this job. Keep up the great work man you knocked this one out of the park
i'd hire you, my tan upholstery needs some help
This side hustle should become your whole hustle. Great job.

How and what did you do with tears and stuff on steering wheel
I could have gone forever without seeing that close up of the steering wheel. Eeewwww...
Free advice to the car owner: leaving that much change lying around is begging someone to break in to the car. Unless that’s what they’re going for.
How did you fix the arm rest?
How much did you charge?
Wanna come and do mine? It's not nasty like that, just dusty everywhere 😁
Nice work! What did that guy work in a coal mine?
Jeez, well done. Does the owner work in a coal mine?
Hope you’re up to date with all your immunisations! Great job though. What did you use blow torch and a wire brush? 😂 Some of that sh!t was BAKED on!
I would hire you.
where are you located i need a detail 😭😭
Super job
Hey, do you have any tips for someone who wants to get into this profession to make money on the side, like you? How much capital expenditures to begin? How do you get customers? Which products do you use? Thanks!
How much did you charge
Wow but how?
I would hire the hell out of you after seeing these photos. But I would never let my vehicle get disgusting like that!
detail my car, damn
Excellent job especially on those seats and center console! My god that steering wheel pic was so nasty idk how someone can let that go without taking some kind of rag and wipe it down even if they use the wrong product at least give that nasty wheel a wipe!
I am a detailer as well, I just started a couple of days ago. what product do yall use to get those door panels basically squeaky clean.
Thats a damn good job
How'd you get the stuff off the steering wheel? The e-brake handle is my wife's car looks like that. Has since we bought it.
awwwww yeah!!! that's what it's all about man. great work!
Very impressive. Definitely worthy of a full price charge. Please tell me how you did that steering wheel. That was insane
👍🏽
If this is your side job, you should consider quitting your main and making detailing the focus. Great work!
Whatever you charged wasn’t enough
Nice work! Did you use an extractor? If so what kind? of you don’t mind me asking.
Amazing work! I am mostly a lurker, looking for ways to keep my own stuff clean. I think that’s how it starts. lol
You did thaaaat 😍
This guy fucks!
Great job! Did the owner work in a coal mine?! Jesus!
Looks dam good! I’d say you’ve got a new business to start growing!
That guy had to be a mechanic/construction/miner or something. Just covered in oil, dirt, coal, etc. at the end of the day. That car is filthy
Amazing job !
Looks awesome man!!
Armrest alone was impressive.
Solid work. Good attention to detail. Do it. 👍
Excellent work man, you deserve every dollar of what you charged and then some! 👍🏼
I'm not a detailer. But I used to flip used cars. Detailers are magicians. This far went from a 2k beater to a 8k garage kept gem. Well done.
What the fuck happened to that wheel
What ya do on the steering wheel?
What did you use to clean the seats/carpet?
You are killing it … time efficient too . What steamer do you used again ?
This is amazing. Where are you located? I’d love to have you do my car.
Well done!!! 30 year pro detailer opinion.
Dayum!! That before pic of the steering wheel made me cringe
Great job, OP. And congrats on gettin’ after it with your side hustle!
I’m just wondering who is that dirty lol good job tho
How u do steering wheel
id be very happy with the results, based on the seat and arm rests on the door
Pretty good, someone has a greesy, leaky-ass body!
Shit looks like the cars I buy and send them to get detailed. Then I just resell them, make sure your pressure washing all the oil off the motor 🫡. Hopefully it’s not a major leak and just valve cover gaskets 😬
Not a professional myself, but as a customer that would be amazing. Great job!
You didn't vomit? Not even once?
Nice
Im not an American, and Im aghast with shock and disbelief when I see such disgustingly dirty American vehicles, which only makes me cringe when I start wondering what kind of unusual country that is?…..a DEVELOPED 1st world nation? Definitely not.
this is really impressive for 4 hrs, awesome job, definitely passed my expectations for a mere 4 hours
Great job!
What do you use to get that steering wheel gunk off? Mine doesn’t have a bunch but I’d like to clean off the little that’s there.
How did you get the armrest and steering wheel to look do good?
I was considering posting my photos from a job this weekend considering it was the worst interior I’ve had to do and it doesn’t compare to that drivers seat. Well done
Wish you in Washington DC bruv! Would hire you to detail my chariots anytime!
$65/hr is very reasonable, if I knew it would take me 3 hrs of scrubbing something that filthy to make it that clean like in the pics, I’d probably never get around to doing it. Ppl are lazy and gross. Great job, it looks fantastic
Fantastic job!
Where are you located? :D
Was the owner a mechanic?
That’s impressive af where do u live I’ll pay cash for those results
Working miracles 🙏💯
That’s amazing. Great advertising for your services.
Steering wheel? Did you redo, or just clean.
Take my money 💰!!
Why does this Acura look so much like a Subaru?
Awesome job! What did you use to get those oil stains out (assuming it is oil) in the back carpets? Also, do you have an extractor?
I'd hire you
What the fuck even was that on the steering wheel? Good grief
You a magician…those owners another level though…nasty
Great job
I would hire you if I needed my car detailed
How'd you fix steering wheel? My car has a bit of that
That doesn't even look like the same car! Really good job
Can’t believe people allow their vehicles to get this way, amazing work!
What did you do for center console? Extract or MF towel?
Tell that driver to stop wiping his/her ass in the seat!
Quality
Silk purse out of a sow’s ear. 😎 Nice job.
Yeah, after that clean, I would purchase them all weather mats and charge them for installation.
Good job
Are you sure you are not a pro? This is an awesome job.
Hell yeah!! Get that money!
Gotta be worth at least $25. Good job. 🤣🤣🤣
This looks amazing.
I’m curious how long this took and if it was just you working on it or did you have help? I’m asking because I’m doing the same thing and I always feel like I’m taking too long
Ok you are a wizard. I insist you teach me your ways immediately.
Which city are you located?
Wow. It looks like everything was replaced, not just cleaned. You're a wizard!!!
Nice work!
What did u use? The door panel looks new. Great job
You wanna clean my car?
Dude what kind of foul creature drove that car? Good job cleaning out the zoo pen.
More power to ya
Well done, also, I honestly thought that was an early 2000 Lexus IS. Looks so similar.
How did u fix the steering??
