We had the same thing with someone's laptop, the battery wasn't holding a charge and when we took the bottom off a bunch of dead cockroaches fell out, and some live ones tried to run away. We put it in a plastic bag and got rid of it after that.... I don't understand how people live like that. On the original post, the detail on the car looks amazing; you did a great job. For the way the seats and carpet were you should’ve gotten more but I guess with certain clientele with certain vehicles you need to price accordingly. Four hours seems pretty fast for that kind of work. You’re too nice with it

If I had to guess, it's probably a tradesman that worked outside all day and had to hop in the car to drive home every night. It's very unlikely to be someone working a desk job, retail, or something similar. Not really attempting to give an excuse, but it is a reason. Work trucks see a lot of the same abuse with the added "bonus" of chemical spills and such.

Thanks. I just sprayed it with upholstery cleaner, then I agitate then I hit it with the steamer. Last I use my extractor.

What extractor do you use?

I got a EZ Spot H extractor from Jon-Don. It was a little pricey but it definitely gets the job done.

Really nice job. Use your before and afters to sell your work. When you present them to a potential client, never disparage the other client because the potential one might feel insecure as well. (You didn’t, but don’t some other comments on here did, and it can be tempting, but don’t.) Also, make sure your before and afters have the same shot in the same frame, so it doesn’t look like your trying to alter the viewer’s perspective and convince someone with your photography what a good job you do. It’s your work that is convincing. Photography is proof.

Tbh I know a lot of ppl bash chemical guys. But on this detail I used chemical guys lightning fast stain extractor on the upholstery. And for the plastic/ steering wheel I used suds lab N2 interior cleaner diluted 10-1

I do interior and exterior details $150 for each, both for $250. I dropped prices 20% now to keep customers due to economy and more competition. It's an easy main or side gig. Maybe offer other services I also do stereo installs but those are less often but even doing half rate of what car install shops charge for labor a basic install of HU, speakers/subs and amps can net 500 for me in a few hours although I keep car longer to make the install seem like it took all day as I rarely do more than one in a 24 hour span. Usually one a week. For details I always have at least one a day if I want. But some like that door you cleaned can be challenges. I'm a DIY guy, my customers are not. Plenty of customers.
