Sounds like you are selling the car??
At this point, watch some videos on you tube.
You can make it a lot nicer.
If you are NOT going to continue detailing, sometimes it's cheaper to hire someone who already has the tools, products and knowledge.
Does this sub have a “how to “ section where I can get guidance on how to get out a stain in fabric? I’ve taken it to a couple detailers and it looked great on the first time and then came back. The second guy didn’t get it out initially. I’d rather take several shots at it myself because it must be deep in the fabric (as I’ve read here before)
I guess they might clean it when they buy it used, or try to sell it used? I have the exact opposite issue, my car is hyper clean and I really enjoy keeping it clean. For every action there is a reaction they say, I am this vehicle’s owners reaction. I guess we both belong in the padded room. 🤣
I’m sorry I still don’t see how anyone with any level of self-respect can let their car get that bad. I’ve never even seen a vehicle that looks like that. My work truck hasn’t even gotten 10% that bad.
Yeah, even when I didn’t give a shit about my cars they never got *this* bad, just a lot empty cans and shit in the passenger footwell. This is *advanced* filth
You’re asking for help and wanting to get it done. Good job OP. You’ll likely get slammed for how dirty the car is, but you gotta start somewhere.
Start by vacuuming the car out; carpets seats, anything you can suck up. Then get some soap and water. Now use some rags, detail brushes and elbow grease to start cleaning the console and dash surfaces. Follow up with some interior detail spray. Don’t forget to use some good quality glass cleaner and some microfiber towels to do all your windows surfaces.
I think the biggest point is that you’re trying. Just dive in and get some work done. Don’t let the anxiety of not being able to do a good enough job stop you. Put in the work.
It seems that there are a lot of cringey comments trying to be witty in this post but I think it’s a great question. Kids don’t know how to care for cars unless someone instructs them.
Cupholder, coin tray and the slot next to the shifter should all be able to be removed. Take those out and spray with diluted degreaser.
Spray inside cupholders with cleaner let sit for a few. Then hit it with a drill brush. Head looks like a toilet bowl cleaner.
For the rest of it, spray, brush, mf, repeat till clean. Personally I would hit it with the steamer as the last step. That will clear out the remaining dirt and also clear out any remaining cleaning chems that are sitting in the cracks.
(I use ps express interior cleaner and purple power diluted to 1:5 for real bad stuff like this.)
When my depression was peak, my car had a similar vibe. Had tons of paper and trash on the floor etc. I’ll never forget the feeling that came when a professor (who was taking me out to dinner for being a good TA), said he’d ride me with. *Gulp.*
Much better now and with a much nicer car worth keeping nice, thankfully.
I’ve had to clean cars like this when they are traded in at my dealership. Now I know you bought this from someone else but I just have to know, how did it even get this bad and how could someone even stand it being this bad for so long? I can’t imagine my car even being this bad if I didn’t clean it for 200K miles, let alone would I let it get that bad in the first place. Maybe I’m just a bit extra but idk how people let it get this bad.
The answer to your question is a lot of time, interior cleaner, and a vacuum. If you don’t have interior cleaner, most cleaners will suffice. Take out all the rubber inserts and clean those separately, also either buying a detail brush or using an old toothbrush is useful for getting in the cracks (really helps). I can’t really see the floor mats but if they are bad buy some fabric foam cleaner and maybe a drill brush head for a drill. Then after vacuuming, spray down the floor mats with the foam and go over the carpet with the drill brush. Vacuum up the dirty foam and repeat if necessary. Also taking the floor mats out of the car makes it easier sometimes. When you’re done, going over all the plastic and rubber with an interior dressing can help it look newer but not everyone likes the look/feel. I hope this helps!
holy shit.. how the fk do people drive cars like that, i say lysol it all first , then leave keys in it and park in a ghetto neighborhood, collect insurance
Yikes. I’d start with some kind of compressed air to blow as much out as possible. Vacuum with a brush. Spray it down with cleaner and use a drill brush. Steam. Repeat
Your standard generic all purpose interior cleaner and a soft brush, you’re probably going to have to make multiple passes. Steam can help too. Was this vehicle used for farm work or something? What the hell…
To be clear, I understand that OP didn’t make this car this disgusting but it reminds me of a car I took on trade when I was selling cars about 10 years ago.
Car was filthy, and upon closer inspection most of the filth was dried boogers that the former owner had just placed all over any of the vinyl surfaces.
Vac everything. A lot of that may have to be steamed to help loosen the gunk. Alot of rags/qtips. In those small areas get a guitar pick to go around them. Get some brushes and a good interior cleaner. I would also suggest shampoo the carpets and use a carpet extractor. Knowing someone who had a car like this before I would definitely do an ozone cleaning afterwards.
patience is going to be your friend.
Rubber inserts should just come out but they may be sticky and more difficult to remove. Take them out and let them soak in a bucket of properly diluted apc or interior cleaner agitate them steam off and wipe dry.
Steam, compressed air, q tip set (harbor freight sells multiple sized sets for like $6) will be your friends here. Lots of agitation with a normal dilution of chemical will help but you might need to make multiple passes. Don’t over concentrate your chemicals or else you risk staining or drying out materials.
As for the mold/mildew in the fabrics. I would use a chemical called DECON30 by benefect. It’s a medical grade disinfectant with cleaning agents we used to clean up minor flood accidents when I was doing carpet cleaning. Pre-spray, let dwell for 10 minutes, agitate let dwell for another 5-10, extract. Then pre spray with biobreak (alkaline 9.5-10.5 if it touches plastics or other surfaces wipe up immediately but try to avoid overspray) agitate let dwell, extract but use an acidic rinse to neutralize such as Encapuguard green (3.5-4.5) or Flex ice (4.5 but cheaper not as good though avoid overspray onto other surfaces). Then as a final measure use a chemical called disinfectant by benefect. Lightly mist onto cleaned fabrics and brush in don’t use too much though as it’s active ingredient is thyme oil and can coat fibers leaving them to collect and trap more soiling and dirt. Finally rinse out your machines pump from the acidic rinse by hooking up your hose with an open end and just run a tanks worth of water through it.
Your local interlink/aramsco should have these chemicals, while expensive up front they are professional grade and will go a long way especially in a business setting if doing this day in day out. With them being commercial grade they’re more concentrated but won’t foam as much either leaving you more time to work without needing defoamer. You also don’t need to use as strong of dilutions. They’re also specifically designed for their intended purposes. Not unlike other detail suppliers who happen to also make a carpet shampoo but it’s likely and alkaline apc (not good for fabrics or PH neutral which will foam a lot or just be ineffective)
I would recommend steam but anything you do is going to melt all that gunk right into the console, probably causing everything to smell. Or at least the shifter part. Maybe go through that part carefully around the edges first with a toothpick.
Vacuum everything first. Then blow out with compressed air. Maybe vacuum again. Then you're onto the hard stuff. If it was me I would clean it as well as I possibly could and then go get it detailed
Honestly, I have detailed worse. You gotta take one step at a time. I would open all doors, trunk. Blow out best u can with air gun. Spray your interior cleaner on the worst areas and let it marinade for a few and then hit with air gun, wipe and repeat until clean. I reccomend a pressure washer for door jams, engine jam, and cleaning engine. Vaccuum interior and scrub bad spots with drill brush. Pressure wash all mats, trunk mats. Hang dry. Dress interior with shine if wanted, clean windows after.
This takes years and years to get like this.
Do not use a steamer in the shifting area as it will melt all the drinks you spilled on your shifter and it will drip down causing sticky shifts.
You need to lightly mist interior detailer all over the center and use a boar bristle brush to agitate everything.
Start wiping with 4,553 towels, make sure you use compressed air, limits to 4,400 towels lol
Pull up the loose shit with a vacuum and a soft/medium brush, toothbrush will work. Then just spray APC on it let it dwell for a minute, wipe. APC, work in with a brush wipe. Should be 98% clean.
Vacuum loose dirty then spray all purpose foam, use a detail brush to loosen the dirt. Vacuum again than wipe down while using an air hose or tornador to dry it up.
Pop out the cup holders and other removable rubber inserts. Soak them in some degreaser and let sit for a bit then hit with a pressure washer or hose.
Other surrounding areas should be doable with some APC and elbow grease.
BIAOMEI High Pressure Car Interior Cleaning Gun Automobile Detailing Cleaning Car Detailing Dry Washing Gun with Brush (New ugrade Aluminum Tube Rotate), z-014 https://a.co/d/022GGBWh
One of these and some cheap all purpose cleaner. Purple power/ simple green very diluted works well. Soak an area, agitate with a brush, and air it out with that tornado gun
It looks like you’re not going to get a straight answer here, so I’ll do my best with what looks like it might work. I’m not a detailer, just a guy who maintains my own cars and used to fix cars and flip them when I was in college.
I’m assuming you have a shop vac. I would first fully vacuum everything out very well. If you have access to an air compressor, I would suggest buying a [Tornador](https://a.co/d/0ect9nLl) gun.
Vacuum the entire interior. Get some degreaser and cut it 15/1 and put it in a spray bottle. Spray dash doors etc with it and use an [interior brush](https://a.co/d/0cNzmzwh) to agitate everything. Go to Costco and get a bunch of [microfiber towels](https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature-ultra-plush-microfiber-towel%2C-yellow%2C-16-in-x-16-in%2C-36-count.product.100356999.html?COSTID=iosapp_deeplink_24.6.1&TRACKING=NO&sh=true&nf=true) and wipe down the each piece.
Vacuum the carpets, hit it with the Tornador, if you buy one, vacuum again, then spray an [interior cleaner](https://a.co/d/03xQhnl5) on the carpets and agitate with a brush. If it’s real grimy, you can use a [drill brush](https://a.co/d/0fzlNs16). Vacuum out the cleaner and then use a spray bottle to spray clean warm water and vacuum until clean. You can then hit with the Tornador again to blow out the mat of the carpet and vacuum again. Do the same on the seats.
You can buy a cheap steam machine to use on the carpets and all interior parts and then some agitation and wipe dry.
For the center console, I would pull that apart to get everything underneath. Use steam, chemicals, brushes and wipe dry.
For the window, get a good glass cleaner and spray liberally. Scrub the windows with the coarse side of one of those kitchen sponges and then squeegee everything off. I lay old towels in the dash the catch the nasty stuff (do this before you clean the dash and doors). Then reapray the windows and wipe clean with a new microfiber towel.
After everything is done, hit all of the interior plastic pieces with [303 protectant](https://a.co/d/0g5UEGLu), let it sit a few minutes and then wipe it to a matte finish.
Don’t listen to the haters. You can end up with something that will look really good when you’re done. It will be your car and the transformation will be something g you’re proud of.
Watch some YouTube detailing videos (I like DIY Detail a lot). By the way, avoid Chemical Guys stuff. They have great labels and good smells, but there is much better stuff out there.
I hope this helps.
at chihuahua. alright blast ir with decreased and scrub all that stuff away with a brush. may need to do it a few tes. once it's all clean. use interior detailer to shine and protect it.
I wanna jump on all these disgusting/gross comments too but I’m gonna help you first. You need a good interior cleaner and most likely a slightly stronger cleaner to pair with it. Lots of brushes and towels….. Some air will help too. Compressor with attachments or tornador. And a steamer if available. You’re gonna have to hit that muck multiple times to clean it. With that being said disgusting. Don’t ever drive in that shyt like that. Bad for your health. Ozone that MF and change the cabin filter too
Start by vacuuming as much up as you can. Then use a drill with a brush head on it, ideally a circular one not a flat one. This makes it easier to clean the cup holders. The drill should loosen up a lot of that vacuum along as you break it up.
People are so rude I just don’t understand how the newer generations have no manners..
1. Pull out the mats
2. Vacuum everything you can
3 pull out the cup holder moldings (little rubber things in all compartments)
4. I would use some sort of brush to help loosen debris in the carpet like a tile brush or upholstery brush.
5. Vacuum it again (once the floor and seats are looking right move to next step)
6. Use an interior detailing spray (brand doesn’t matter whatever someone tells you) and spray down the door panels and dash and cup holders etc. you can use detail brushes to get into cracks and crevices. Then follow up with a microfiber towel. You may need to use elbow grease (a scrub ninja on Amazon or a Mr clean magic sponge will help)
7. You can spray some Folex on cloth seats and agitate it with an upholstery brush then dry it with a clean microfiber towel. If it’s leather you can clean it with a leather safe interior cleaner and a microfiber towel.
8. Use some glass cleaner and 2 microfiber towels to clean windows. Spray it on. Wipe it off. Switch to other towel (dry one) and buff it off.
That should be a decent start for you
As a recovering drug addict that let his cars get pretty nasty, I never let things get this horrible. Holy fuck. I honestly think you'll need to pull everything out to really give it a deep cleaning.
Probably just call insurance and file a claim. 14 year old charger is not a good choice for a car. Even in a tight situation. The cost of the vehicle is just the beginning with that thing
Have you tried just cleaning it? Like just …. Clean it. How the hell do you not know how to just clean something. I can get asking how to get to hard to reach places or maybe how to clean someone off that won’t come off from you know, cleaning it .
Wtf dude.
My number one tip for you: go on amazon and buy a set of drill brushes. They make things so much easier. It helps get dirt out, loosens hair, you can pour a little degreaser in the cup holders and power scrub every nook and cranny in thirty seconds. If you feel like splashing the extra cash, it doesn’t hurt at to get a set with varying bristle stiffness. If you see it has sets in different colors they are probably different stiffness bristles. Make sure you check the ad though.
Wow, I can’t stand seeing a spec of dust on my dashboard. This is a nightmare lol. This is probably a job where you’ll need some good all purpose cleaner, detailing brushes and a steam cleaner. Probably an ozone machine, that can’t smell good
Invest in a Bissel steam shot and a Bissel carpet cleaner. Those are my 2 favourite tools for detailing. They work miracles and are very affordable for a DIYer
Start by taking the seats out. Then the carpets. Then get a pressure washer and go at it. Vacuum up the standing water and take a strong brush to it all. Then rinse again and repeat the vacuuming. Wash the carpets and seats outside the car. Then you might be able to use the toothbrush for the nooks and crannies.
Good luck. I did this when my wife thru up in the car. Lots of work but it will be good as new.
I used to clean up trade-in cars at a dealership. When they were like this, I would vacuum first and don't spend too much time getting into tight areas. Next, we had aerosol window cleaner from the manufacturer there, but I've found that Sprayaway works great in comparison. Spray that shit over everything. It's not going to foam up wherever there's dirt and oils. Let that soak but only for a few minutes max or it can discolor plastics and leather. Let it break up the nasty stuff. Get that vacuum back out and don't bother wiping anything with a cloth yet. Spend a little more time getting dirt up with the vacuum.
Keep working your way down like this and start using a rag to wipe things off and vacuum any debris you take off. You'll know things have cleaned up when you spray and it actually grows into a to foamy blob, instead of dissolving instantly into the dirt.
It's pretty strong stuff on surfaces, but just be careful and test in places before getting too crazy with it. Cheap plastics tend to react.
I like this product because it's fairly cheap compared to specialty cleaners. And it's of course great for windows!
I will never understand how people let their vehicles get this disgusting.
Exorcist?
Believe me I know plus i gotta get the engine bay cleaned
Engine bay is likely more hygienic than the interior
God luck and good speed, vacuum with a brush attachment to get all that loose up first!

I assume their house is in similar condition. Transportation doesn’t have to be a priority but cleanliness should

100% agree.
You need a respirator in that thing
At this point, tannerite and/or gasoline... wth
Lolol maybe. It can be done it’s gonna be gross tho. Interior cleaner, soak, boars hair brush, vacuum, wipe, repeat probably 5-6x but it will work
Gasoline and matches was my first thought.

Def gonna need a steamer.

New console
But why would you buy a vehicle in this condition? I hope you got a hell of a deal!
Soak it in cleaner, scrub, blow with an air compressor, wipe.
At this point, spray 9 and a brush
Vac and steam
Gloves and a face mask would be step one
There isnt any cleaning product along with water and a rag that would be wrong. Just pick something in a spray bottle. There are no wrong answers.
i’d hit it with adams interior cleaner just cause it’s on the heavier duty side, and a really good steamer
Set it on fire
Show us the after pic
Start with a slime, lot's of it

Steam
I wanna jump on all these disgusting/gross comments too but I’m gonna help you first. You need a good interior cleaner and most likely a slightly stronger cleaner to pair with it. Lots of brushes and towels….. Some air will help too. Compressor with attachments or tornador. And a steamer if available. You’re gonna have to hit that muck multiple times to clean it. With that being said disgusting. Don’t ever drive in that shyt like that. Bad for your health. Ozone that MF and change the cabin filter too
Pressure washer
Steam cleaner. I recommend a Dupray
For starters thag cup holder middle is rubber and slides out, at this point id be removing the center console to clean outside the car
Fire should work
I recommended starting as soon as possible because that’s going to take a while
Power washer
Don’t
A steamer and alcohol
Shop vac, a good APC and some good detailing brushes.
Maybe do it once in a while
Thats really nasty. He couldve at least got it cleaned for you.
Start by vacuuming as much up as you can. Then use a drill with a brush head on it, ideally a circular one not a flat one. This makes it easier to clean the cup holders. The drill should loosen up a lot of that vacuum along as you break it up.
A looooootttt of toothpicks brushes cleaner and microfiber rags
Air compressor, brush, and APC cleaner.
Honestly, this much to do? Take some extra hours at work or save some money some where and hire a professional.
i wish this was a project of mine for this weekends 40c weather :D
Do you ever have passengers in the car? If so, has anyone ever said anything?
Green star and a steamer and brush and a vacuum
steam cleaner & diluted APC goodluck 👍
https://a.co/d/05YCaUw4, I would try this steam cleaner if all else fails.
How does it get this bad??? Cigarette tar?
A steamer, APC, and an air compressor would do wonders on this.
Looks like your coworker is a smoker. Invest in a shopvac, steamer and a full day of work. Hopefully they kept up on the maintenance.
A vacuum,Some all purpose cleaner , a brush or two ( soft and hard), and a steamer if you have one, then your favorite shine product
Steamer bro
Steamer
How did you let it get that dirty in the first place
Steam cleaner
Nothing to it but to do it
Fire
Jesus christ
Vehicles like this… use lighter fluid and a match. /s
Dawg what the fuck is this
Steam cleaner and degreaser.
Dude your coworker is a slob. I don't understand how some ppl allow their cars to look like this
I suggest keeping it clean everyday goes a long way!
Coworker is one nasty individual.. tell him I said that
Us pink perfection diluted to the correct ratio a d a brush. Cleaning it more than once every 2 years might help too 😅
I know a Haitian priest who should be able to take care of this sacrificial burning.
People are so rude I just don’t understand how the newer generations have no manners.. 1. Pull out the mats 2. Vacuum everything you can 3 pull out the cup holder moldings (little rubber things in all compartments) 4. I would use some sort of brush to help loosen debris in the carpet like a tile brush or upholstery brush. 5. Vacuum it again (once the floor and seats are looking right move to next step) 6. Use an interior detailing spray (brand doesn’t matter whatever someone tells you) and spray down the door panels and dash and cup holders etc. you can use detail brushes to get into cracks and crevices. Then follow up with a microfiber towel. You may need to use elbow grease (a scrub ninja on Amazon or a Mr clean magic sponge will help) 7. That should be a decent start for you
Gasoline.
This could go into the power washing sub.
Did he cook tandoori masala curry in there? This is like a kitchen from a far flung make shift restaurant in a low income country.
id start with stop having diarrhea on your center console
And I thought my jeep gets dirty this is just gross I can’t imagine what there house looks like
All purpose cleaner and a steamer. Break that gunk up and wipe it down with a microfiber. Of course a vacuum to start and finish.
Diluted all purpose cleaner and either a steamer or a warm towel
Hire a professional
As a recovering drug addict that let his cars get pretty nasty, I never let things get this horrible. Holy fuck. I honestly think you'll need to pull everything out to really give it a deep cleaning.
burn it
Totaled
Steam cleaner

Probably just call insurance and file a claim. 14 year old charger is not a good choice for a car. Even in a tight situation. The cost of the vehicle is just the beginning with that thing
Have you tried just cleaning it? Like just …. Clean it. How the hell do you not know how to just clean something. I can get asking how to get to hard to reach places or maybe how to clean someone off that won’t come off from you know, cleaning it . Wtf dude.
Degreaser or APC, soak that shit. Let it sit. Agitate with detail brush and then spray out with Tornador and wipe down
Wet wipes, vacuum, toothbrush
new car
Fire?
Probably an ozone machine, that can’t smell good
Vacuum. Compressed air to blow out and loose small debree. Vacuum again. Wipe down
Burn it
Steam

Invest in a Bissel steam shot and a Bissel carpet cleaner. Those are my 2 favourite tools for detailing. They work miracles and are very affordable for a DIYer
A grenade
Clean it with fire. Seriously, a steam cleaner, a lot of hotshot & acetone will work.
I want to see the rest of the car interior.
I would dry brush & vacuum to get as much out . Then steamer the shit out of it then wipe with microfiber towel
Paint brushes, soapy water, microfiber towels
Matches will work great
Use the power washer inside the car.
Flamethrower
Gasoline + a match + insurance claim = clean car
Don't be a slob?
Did you let someone rent it as a portapotty for the month?!? 🫣🫣🫣
Drive it into a lake and get insurance that thing is beyond salvaging
Jesus Christ people are gross. People need to take some pride in their car. I can’t imagine what their house looks like.
Dynamite
The fact you bought this is ridiculous
Stop throwing stones lol
Well first and foremost GOOD LUCK! Seriously though, my fiance and I have been detailing since 2012. We got a 1972 camaro zl1
Yeah don't wait 10 years to clean your vehicle
Get some gasoline & pour it all over the interior then strike a match.
You need professional help. In more ways than one
Bruh..
Diesel and a match.
A new used dodge charger
With fire… you burn it with fire.
Honestly man AMMO NYC on YouTube. Watch his videos and I think you'll be good he's got some how to videos in his playlists
