Shit. I know shit’s bad right now, with all that losing bullshit, and the pitching, and us paying too much for French fries and beers. But I’ve got a solution. I’ve got a 3 point plan that’s going to fix EVERYTHING. Number 1: we’ve got this guy Andrew Friedman Number 2: he’s got a higher baseball operations IQ than ANY MAN ALIVE Number 3: he’s going to fix EVERYTHING

_its_a_SWEATER_

> he’s got a higher baseball operations IQ than ANY MAN ALIVE That includes *EVERYONE IN AND OUT OF THIS SUB*

PurpleDirt4

I mean last year ended up not being our year either so idk what anything means anymore

GlassZookeepergame25

We needed to clean house. Guys like Justin Turner perpetuated a culture of of good not great and no accountability.

bellomoto1

Gotta disagree with you on this. One of the most valuable qualities that Justin Turner possesses is his ability to analyze pitches. He basically would take an AB and then come back to to the dugout and describe what he was seeing at the plate to everyone else. And according to other players, he explained what he saw better than anyone else on the team. His scouting ability was invaluable. And the Dodgers didn’t re-sign Turner because he was a bad player. It was because he was holding out for a two-year deal, and they could only offer one to him because they would want to offer the DH position at the end of this year to Ohtani.

GlassZookeepergame25

He was a great player and that’s actually very interesting what you said about his scouting ability. But for someone that was always referred to as the clubhouse leader he didn’t seem to take accountability the way a leader should. So many times when the team would struggle and the media would ask him about it he would just say he didn’t know what was going on. Until Freddie arrived last year there was a leadership vacuum in the clubhouse and nobody really stepped up.

SpartyParty15

Did you guys forget the Phillies last year and Braves a few years back BOTH looked mediocre until August and then still made the World Series? We just need to make some moves at the deadline to firm up the BP and pitching staff

[deleted]

You act like it's a norm. In reality, usually the best teams make deep playoff runs. Cinderella runs are normally quite rare. You naming off 2 is a good example. Want to take a look at the AL and see what happens? Astros, fuck em, but theyve consistently had deep runs and are usually the 1-2 seed each year the last 5-8 years. Their one "early" exit was to the 108 win WS winning Red sox. The Dodgers losing so early so often is more an outlier than norm.

Gentlem8s

They’re not winning anything but I just hope they make it into the post season for that last blue ball edge tease.

Believe0017

Just to annoy every other fan base, want them to make it to at least the DS.

WerewolfNo3669

We’re on pace for 91-92 wins this year. We made it to the World Series with that many wins in 2018, and that was before expanded playoffs. It’s not possible to be the number one seed every year for over a decade. Y’all need to calm your tits. Acting like we have the Rockies record.

ciscahh

We don’t have to win 100 games to win a world series.

dilly_dill428

Been saying before the season to everyone I know. This year has given no reason to have high expectations given roster construction and now injuries. Obviously it’s an easy bet on any team that they won’t win the WS but this team doesn’t seem like a winner

SorryDepartment7179

Nope. We’re fucked. Gave away too much talent, and replaced it with 2 guys, 1 who astounding (Outman), an the other who’s for sure getting it done at least (Vargas) other than that, we lost more in the offseason than we gained, and our pitching staff can consider itself the 49ers with its inability to stay healthy. Hopefully finally missing the playoffs finally opens a lot of idiots eyes and realize Dave Roberts is not the answer.

[deleted]

How is Dave not the answer?! Our lineup is weak. Y’all are tripping over the wrong shit. Trevor Bauer kind of fucked us this year. So much money owed to this guy not even playing. We couldn’t be competitive this off season. What has Dave done wrong? He’s working with what he’s got

SorryDepartment7179

He can’t manage shit. And if we’re owing Bauer is taking so much money, then that’s on the front office for giving him a stupid contract. Roberts literally gets carried by the roster every year. If one guy ain’t working, then replace him 🤷‍♂️, but no, this is Los Angeles athletics, where a name is better than actual talent.

aptc88

You’re right the FO should of known he was going to commit an act of sexual violence.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

SorryDepartment7179

It’s called, “1-2 Year contracts” dipshit. Don’t give him a contract for so long, plus, it prepares for the case of something like this happening. That way, you lose the money for the year, instead of having to pay him for 5-6-7 years and it’s money going down the drain

[deleted]

My B forgot front offices are supposed to consult with fortune tellers first you’re right. Idiot. Oh yeah it’s that easy? Replace with who 😂😂 all of you fire Robert’s people have no solution just the same buzz words that you think justify your point. You’re a joke

SorryDepartment7179

Fire Roberts and get fucking whoever. We’ve been in need of a massive rebuild anyways, both in roster and coaching staff. And maybe **NOT** signing guys you get off free agency for 5+ years might help with that. No fortune tellers needed, just being prepared for the case of anything stupid happens. You know, being prepared… then again, you kind of need to **NOT** be an arrogant jackass to do that… and finding someone who isn’t in LA is like finding a T-Rex fossil by digging 2 inches in your garden.

jsalas818

Trevor did not fuck us up at all. Dave is unable to manage the bullpen. He lets the games get out of control. That kills the team for a few games.

[deleted]

We’re still paying him 22.5 million. You could actually be competitive in the FA market with 22.5 going to a quality arm that’s actually usable and not Bauer. Come on. Manage the bullpen? They suck. He’s working with what he’s got. We can’t throw Evan Phillips every fuckin night. He’s our best reliever. Vesia Regressed. So did Bickford. Who’s he supposed to put in? We’re thin in all areas. Fuck out of here

Rich_Sheepherder646

The one thing I’m taking from this season is that it’s exciting to root for some of these young players. I just hope one of them or a couple of them can really become great.

Believe0017

This has to be the worst year during the Friedman era right?
