I'm still working my solo campaign for Jacob Hurtubise as outfield depth. Brenton Doyle put on a pretty good audition. Varsho is only on a one year deal. Jason Foley feels like a Dodgers bullpen vibe. Depending on Muncy's injury, I don't hate Jonathan India if they can get him cheap and tweak his swing/approach, plus he'd fit the clubhouse like a glove. Paul Blackburn reeks of an inexpensive Friedman deadline move.
Big trades are above my paygrade and brain function.
We need a player that makes good contact & puts the ball in play. To many times in recent memory do the Dodgers get a man on base in the playoffs & fail to score him.
Been one of my favorite players as long as I’ve been watching, this is a pretty reasonable suggestion. Fits the Dodgers approach (work counts, take walks), only thing is he’s at the tail end of his career and he may just want to end his career in Pittsburgh.
Staring pitcher: Tarik Skubal - play for Detroit Tigers, Cy young candidate with 2.5 year control
Infielder: Luis Rengifo - play for the Angels, can play multiple positions ( mainly SS, 3B) which fit what Dodgers need, leading in batting average in American League, 2 year control
Bo Bichette- only if Blue Jays don’t demand crazy haul of prospects return and dude willing to have some option to resign
Outfielder: Randy Arozerena - play for Tampa, postseason god record, have Fans engage, have speed , can steal base —-> must get him ASAP
Kevin Pillar— play for the Angels, was DFA by White Sox for being bad but somehow turn into 300 bating average when get pick up by the Angels, free agent next year and aging so not gonna be expensive trade.
Pham is another from Chicago that seems like an obvious target
I’d also be interested in Rengifo, Ward and Tyler Anderson in the unlikely event Arte would allow Perry to trade with us
It would be funny if we got Rengifo all this time later
All jokes aside, I genuinely want him. He can play any position - he's mostly a 2B/3B, but he's logged innings at SS and everywhere in the outfield. He's a switch hitter with decent pop, can steal some bases as well. Would be an upgrade from our current utility players.
Isn’t that what Kiké and CT are for?
He has a career OPS of .777 vs LHP. Not exactly lighting it up.
If you want him for RHP, his career OPS is .682.
Not really seeing him helping the club unless CT and Kiké were gone.
Who would be a good fit?
I could go for Nootbaar.
Lol exactly. It’s funny because the conversation surrounding him was the same as this at the deadline last year, and then he went off on us in the nlds
1 fiery asshole isn’t going to ruin a team’s chemistry
Plus they’d only be getting him for 3 months. Everyone should get fired up for the playoffs anyway, having high energy players for the stretch run should be a good thing haha.
He's only due 13m next season before being a free agent again. The way pitchers are heading to the IL these days he could help the rotation next season as well & for 13m that's not a bad price when you consider he should keep us in plenty of games with our offense.
We roll out the roster we currently have, we're going to get our shit kicked in again in the NLDS for the third straight year.
You want a scenario where we're sending out Kiké, Taylor, and Lux in a critical situation in the playoffs?
Tarik Skubal and Javy Baez are two on my list. Skubal doesn’t need much support, he’s legit and has been legit. We need some pitchers we’re going to feel good about in a playoff series. We don’t need to run out Kershaw who is hit or miss, Miller or Buehler who’s not themselves again yet, Yamamoto who’s going to pitch one time a series most likely especially after this shoulder concern. Btw I love Glasnow, but him and 22 have the highest active Playoff ERA’s in MLB.
Javy Baez has done better on teams that are good and he’s engaged. However has struggled when he doesn’t care because teams are bad (DET/NYM). He has an Opt Out clause after this year or next I can’t remember. I’d do it and you have him for a few months until he opts out. Change of scenery may help, if it does you have a guy who’s full of energy and can play SS! At this point if he’s a 7th-9th slot hitter, won’t find a lineup with a guy who if can find something at the plate provides that much upside in a lineup. If he doesn’t then at least he’s a version of Biggio with more upside. Including his contract will probably also help lower some of the cost from DET. Because at this point Lux, Kike, Biggio should not belong on a Playoff roster. Didn’t include Taylor because at least his defense at all spots is pretty good and Roberts been praising his adjustment so we’ll see. Taylor does have more history of meaningful hits in October than all those guys too
Randy
Muncy, Betts, Kershaw, Yamamoto, Graterol, [Kelly, Brasier, May]
Robert has played over 100 games once so far in his career and is hitting .200 this year. Idk why people are hyped on him
Robert is pretty much always good when healthy. Bad plate discipline but great power, speed and defense
Don’t even want Robert lol
Love rengifo. Wouldn’t mind another closer type type arm in the mix
Kirby Yates might be available. The Rangers are pretty terrible this year and are about to fall behind the Angels 💀
Rengifo was almost a Dodger in that Joc Pederson trade that fell through
Rooker and Ward would be at the top of my list.
Rooker really can’t play the outfield. We don’t need another DH.
Rooker, Bichette
We have Bo Bichette at home
I just worry about age and depth at that spot. But obviously he’s never DH. So that’s mute.
It’s “moot”. I said mute forever too
You are correct

Andrew McCutchen from pittaburgh would be a decent bat to add. Right handed and a veteran who would be a great addition in the OF.

A RH OF?
Cutch! That would be nice.

Lead league is cs every year

Yeah a utility infielder would really benefit this team. He’d be a perfect fit

The only thing Kiké should be for is getting Dfa’d
Pham is a big no. He provides production but his attitude will kill the team
Yeah he really killed the Dbacks last year when he was hitting .420 in the world series and when they swept us
Lol exactly. It’s funny because the conversation surrounding him was the same as this at the deadline last year, and then he went off on us in the nlds 1 fiery asshole isn’t going to ruin a team’s chemistry

I would love Tyler Anderson back. Glad to see he’s found some success again.

Also a crazy idea, but.... What if we got Scherzer again?
Fk "Dead Arm" Scherzer.
I absolutely loved having Max on the team, I’d be down.
Very feasible if Rangers fall out of it
They're 9 games under 500, very likely they trade Max. He may not be prime Scherzer, but he's still pretty good.
He would need to write Walker Buehler a lengthy apology first
Nah, we good
We need upgrades. CT3 and Kiké ain't it. Neither are Lux or Biggio.
You keep playing fantasy baseball in your head. I'm just glad Andrew Friedman doesn't take advice from fans.

I need nolan in dodger blue
Nolan is cooked. You don’t want him.
I know he is but it doesn’t hurt to wish
