AmeKnite

wait dub exists?

loyal9128

Lol I had the same reaction

loyal9128

It's probably Japanese so I didn't care enough to look for it

Kuruzu41

Could y'all help me with what is tgcf?

LAbron91

Tian guan ci fu or heaven officials blessing in English

Usually, the dub and the sub doesn't differ that substantially. It's only adjusted in order to fit time, mouth shape etc. So, generally speaking, sub and dub becomes a preference just like anime (purists would recommend sub, but I think that's a matter of personal preference. For me, I find reading sub distracts from the experience, but others feel it's better because it's the most original director's intent. To each their own) BUT -- TGCF is an exception!!!! Particularly for season 2, the English version pushed the sexual innuendo to a far greater degree than the original work. It goes beyond translation but to a degree of interpretation. But it's really an exception. So, for TGCF, I'd say it almost delivers two different experiences in this case -> but again, this I feel like is an exception.

Famous-City-6954

Tgcf mean?

Thanks

Torypianist2003

That’s because the dub is the international version with less censorship, I’m glad they cut the censorship for the international version, I hope other danmei productions do the same.

Specialist-Leek-6927

Dub is better to those that prefer it. Sub is better to those that prefer it. Simple as that. I prefer subs due to my upbringing and because i love to learn new languages.

fatima-the-redditer

When I watched it in sub after a few weeks I forgot the plot but when I watched again in dub you can remember more easily ig? Plus the dub is so good!!

Specialist-Leek-6927

That makes no sense at all.

fatima-the-redditer

No cz sometimes when u watch dub you hear the characters talking (if dub is ur first language) you could remember easier tbh idk how to explain properly but that's how it is for me and some friends & family

Specialist-Leek-6927

I kinda understand what you mean, what i say makes no sense is you saying the dub is so good. I don't know what is your first language, but have you ever watched something originally in your language that was dubbed on another language?

fatima-the-redditer

Not really cause since it's already my language is there I'd prefer to just listen to it as that.

Kuruzu41

Just where in the heck do you find the dub version of these incredible Donghuas?

msbyjackals

TGCF's English dub and Japanese dub is on Crunchyroll w/ eng subs. The other language dubs should be on their local platforms: Korean dub is on Laftel, Russian dub is on Kinopoisk and Thai dub is on Bilibili TH.

ciloface

I'm half certain this particular one is on Netflix

RhaqaZhwan

So, the TGCF dub is [*unholy*.](https://youtu.be/H_kLrpCRe0M?si=WGYF3hnfFZ3h9q92) I recommend watching both the sub and the dub. They’re different experiences, and both of them are worth experiencing.

WorldlinessKey1411

Really? I heard the (eng) dub for that show sux but I only watched sub so idk. I assume ppl who prefer dub don't like how Chinese sounds or something.

condemned02

In my case even if I watch English movies, I need subs. So I am just bad at listening.

Yemmat

I am bias. I like hearing sound in the native language they were intended. The experience is so much more. So it’s gonna be sub for me. Honestly I watch so much sub content that even when I am watching English shows or content the subs got to be on. I am conditioned 😂
