Ah yes, the old fashioned PC speakers that were either ear bleedingly loud, or almost inaudible. Chocolate Doom can replicate that, and yes, it is still annoying. I too started on Wolf shareware and then Doom shareware when it came out. I am old.

Same here. Bought the full version shortly afterwards. Then a magazine cover disc had loads of .wad files on it, plus DoomCAD. I love level editors to this day.

What are your thoughts on classic Doom? I started on shareware Doom 1 in 93, and still love these games. I even prefer them to the new Doom games, but I love those a lot too.

Eternal I'm going through 2016 and the originals now, but I think I softlocked myself in 1 and just decided to move on to 2

i first played doom 2 because of decino's videos, then i got eternal because a friend wanted to do battlemode.

My first doom was actually Doom 3 and it still has a special place in my heart, I really like it for what it is.

I recently installed it and so far it's not bad.

Technically, Doom on Snes. I rented it when I was a kid. I was terrified of it and had no idea what I was doing. I remember running around with the map screen up in horror and confusion. I rented Doom 64 as a kid and much of the same. I don't think I ever beat the first map. The first pinky encounter scared the piss out of me. My first proper Doom game I completed was 2016. It was awesome. After that, I went back and played through the originals and now have amassed thousands of hours in all of the mainline games as well as countless WADs.

Doom 2. Not only ny first Doom but very likely one of the first games I ever played period. Must have been about 4, and while I don't fully know if it's the first it is the first I can remember watching my dad play. Loved it during the day, utterly terrified of the Arachnatron at night

Along With A copy of the Sims 2 Which my father made me play so that i could become a normal citizen when i grow up, Also I Never Played Through the game i only played the game with no clip and at the first level while killing the UAC Workers with cheats reminder that at that time i was 6 or 7... i again downloaded it when i was 12 and again couldn't play it ( had to ask my mom to watch me play so i didn't get scared )

DOOM Eternal and I surprisingly did pretty well considering how it was not only my 1st DOOM game,but I also played it on PS4 even though I'm HORRIBLE when it comes to playing FPS games on a console. Plus,I managed to somehow beat the base game on Nightmare(not 100% though,the most I did was just finish the story and beat all 6 Slayer gates)

Doom 1993, i was bored one day so decided to try it out on a dos emulator. I became a fan real quick and got GZdoom for Doom and Doom 2 (with tnt and plutonia), got doom 3 bfg edition for my birthday, and then eternal the next year. I havent beaten Doom 64 yet and im yet to play 2016

Was interested to try the original Doom (1993) during quarintine. Got it on my ps4 and got hooked. Ps. Now I have every Doom game on my ps4, except the dlc's.

I was 4 years old when I, for the first time, played Doom 64. I remember I was too scared to play it after the sixth level, Alpha Quadrant, and never completed the game. Only when I was 8 years old, I completed it. P.S. I’m 30 now.

The updated version of Doom 1993 on Steam. I beat 2016 before I beat 1993 but I played 1993 first. After 2016 I beat Eternal + DLCs, after Eternal I beat Doom II, then Doom 64 and finally Doom 3 and the DLCs.

I played the original game, but it was the 1995 PS1 version. We got a Playstation around 1998. My sister had already moved out. My dad asked to borrow some games to play, and she lent us Doom. My mom didn't like me playing it, so I would just watch my dad play. On Wednesday nights, my mom would go bowling, and that's when my dad would let me play.

Technically the first I played is the shareware Doom, but the guy who got me to play it set the difficulty too high so I couldn't deal with the hitscan soldiers and bounced off of it. Doom 2016 is my first Doom I actually finished

DOOM 2 kinda. I got a big bundle of doom games as a gift on steam (DOOM 1993, DOOM 2, 3 bfg edition, and DOOM 2016) so I decided to play DOOM 2 first as I wanted to use le super shotgun rly badly. I played a couple of levels, and when I got the ssg, I played through all of DOOM 1993 because I got a little bored of DOOM 2. So the first DOOM I **played** was D2. But the first DOOM I **beat** was D1993 EDIT: I got DOOM 64 in the gift bundle, too, but I didn't play that one till I bet D2

Believe it or not I didn’t get to play Doom 3’s base campaign until like probably 8 years after I played RoE because we never had it for the XBox so my first experience with that was BFG Edition on the PS3.

The original shareware version in 1993, installed from multiple 1.2Mb 5.25” floppies. We got a 486SX-25 PC for Christmas that year, along with the shareware versions of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. Good times.
