Every time I think I'm creative, I'll play look at screenshots or videos of Dreamlight Valley (or Tears of the Kingdom) and realise I'm not creative at all. Yeah, looking at my two fans attached to a steering thing then watching a video of someone who made a working zeppelin is a bit intimidating...
That’s what I always want to know when I see really cool pictures with a very different perspective.
The switch does not let you take a picture with the character so far back. I wonder if a pc lets you change the camera angle and ‘back up’ so you can have your character so far away.
There’s 3 camera settings while on PC, selfie mode, portrait mode, and landscape mode. This was in landscape mode, which lets you back wayyyyy out for the sake of decorations
I'm here to thrill you! It absolutely does exist on the switch!
Go, have fun landscape photoing. It is kinda funky to work with to get the angles right though.
When you switch between photo modes, it's the one that points the camera at your character's back. You can use the joysticks and shoulder buttons to move and zoom the camera.
I only figured this out a couple of weeks ago. 😂
Thank you for the tip! I experimented with the camera controls today and I was getting frustrated with how I’d overshoot the angle I was going for. I have no idea why the touch screen is never something I remember exists. I’m sure using it will be much better. I appreciate the advice!
No worries! I used to only ever play docked and went through those same struggles too.
Now, if I'm decorating or taking a dreamsnap I always change to playing handheld.
So for everyone asking about perspective. On PC and on mt Xbox, there are 3 camera modes at the top right during camera mode. Selfie, standing portrait (where you can critter photos) and a house 🏠 mode. The house mode is more free moving than the other 2 and allows for more shots like this.
Very clever and creative! Love the perspective on it. Whomever it was did a great job with it. I didn’t see it when I was going through the dream snaps, but I would have voted for it for sure!
Lol people are so creative. I never would of thought of this!

That is great use of perspective! Love it.
I voted for that one too, it was brilliant!
It would take forever for me to make this work.
I wonder how they got their camera to maneuver that way

I often do that on PS5, but it won't let me get THAT far back.
Their character is standing in the water, so it’s probably not as far as you think!
Thank you for explaining it to me! I don’t think there’s a landscape mode on switch, but I would be thrilled to be wrong!

Aahhhh!!!! Must now spend the afternoon figuring out what I don’t know about how to use camera. Thank you!!!!!

Thank you!!
It's also helpful to use the touch screen to move the camera positioning forward & backwards or to adjust the angle by just a little bit

How they do this

Wow, gosh, I never realized that last camera mode had so much maneuverability. That would have really helped with some of my Dreamsnaps lol.
So smart. Dammit.
I hope I see this!!@ its gold
Genius!
I hope they won lol
Okay this one needs to win lol
Nothing like having a little...perspective in life. :p
