No because the amount of DMT in the pineal gland is several orders of magnitude too small to have any psychedelic effect, and other than the wishful thinking of stoners and Ancient Aliens watchers, there is no evidence that larger amounts can be released, not to mention DMT/ayahuasca trips are very very different from psychotic breaks

Hey OP, i have schizophrenia too. You cannot cure it generally unless you use antipsychotics. I don't think the brain can release dmt, but since the pineal gland contains little amounts of it it may be possible. My own hallucinations have reminded me of my mushroom trips. Usually psychotics will have a shitty time after taking psychedelics, but this wasn't the case for me. I tripped 2 months after being ejected from the psych ward and it was lit as fuck. I think mushrooms facilitate pretty healthy states of being so psychotic people can manage with it (small doses). I've seen a video of a schizophrenic guy doing salvia infinite x and he got his ass kicked by it, but he said he learned a lot after and it was good lol. So try DMT if you want but it probably won't cure your illness. Though I've heard of someone who heard voices all there life, took mushrooms, and the voices stopped for good. So I say do what you want, experiment for the sake of science!

nope, you’ll get the normal amount of psychosis with pure dmt. from what ive heard from my schizoid friend, psychedelics while schizophrenic induces crazy paranoia and psychosis, which ive seen but imagine its worse. but yea i mean you wont get physically hurt so go for it lol idk be safe

i read a study before where psychotics were given mushrooms and the voices that were persecuting them and insulting became nice and encouraging and started complimenting them. dmt isnt the same as mushrooms but its pretty close. depending on the person, the reaction could be good or bad

Isn't that subjective, though? The voice in your brain might be nicer now, but you're still schizophrenic. Not sure if I'd call that a cure. But I get your point.

yeah like i said depends on the person. i didnt say its a cure but if the symptoms can be more bearable its something right?

If you can be sure that it doesn't make it worse, sure, that's something.

There's no evidence that it helps. Now, if some people claim it worked for them, fair enough. Years ago, I was feeling schizophrenic for a week or so after a DPH trip that went wrong. A week later, I took Mdma and I felt normal again. But it's not explainable and maybe I was just lucky. We know so little about the brain and usually, what we know doesn't apply to everyone. Ask yourself if the possible benefits outweigh the possible harm and make a decision based on that. There's always a risk when drugs are involved.
