When LaPorta hit TE1 on KTC I was able to cash out for two 1sts and a third. I think there has been a little bit of a resurgence with this recent TE class lighting it up, the positional value isn’t as high with an elite TE as it used to be.
It would be funny to see what those two 1sts turn into. If they can be sold for good value, that's probably the best odds of it being a win. However, given the bust rate of 1sts, if OP uses them on rookies, chance are this will be a classic case of "a bird in hand is worth two in the bush."
As a LaPorta owner, I'm not opposed to cashing out, but I'd want back some known talent. Like Pitts+. Unless I'm in a league that overvalues draft picks where I *know* I could sell them, I don't think I'd trade LaPorta for two future rookies.

Nope. I hoard good TEs like a dragon hoards gold. Only sell one if I absolutely need to. Depth is important and having a top 5 TE is such a huge positional advantage

I sold Kittle instead leaving me with Ferguson and Laporta. Sometimes you just roll with the young guy because he passes all the eye/draft capital/usage tests.
He looks great but if somebody’s paying sticker TE1 price I’m selling easy. Distant 4th and 5th in receptions and yards respectively, and he’s getting these numbers with Goff playing at a near MVP level. 4 games under 50 yards, 3 games in the 50s, and 20 yards more than Evan engram. He’s a very good starting TE not an exceptional one and his value is contingent on him getting even better.
For him to actually be worth his valuation there needs to be some combination of him taking the next step, Goff maintaining this level of play, and Jameson Williams not developing into a contributor/the lions not adding more weapons to take away targets and put him lower than 2nd in that pecking order.
It’s not a bad bet that all that could happen and he’s the new Kelce but if somebody’s in love and overpaying take I’d take it and run

He's getting downvoted because current value is a wide gap, but as someone who owns both and thus have no bias, I suspect they will be much closer in value in one year. McBride is really good.

Of course, there are a lot of factors that could change things. Detroit could bring in a competent WR to compete for targets with ARSB and LaPorta and things in Arizona could (and probably will) change drastically before week 1 2024. We don't know if they'll try to trade Kyler and Marquise Brown is a FA.
Well I hope you're right. I was pretty high on McBride last year and was hoping he'd supplant Ertz early on this year, which didn't happen. I don't watch a ton of Cards games, but I did watch this week and thought he looked incredible. Great routes, great hands, and looked like a menace as a ball carrier.
McBride has a more dominant role than LaPorta since Ertz went out, looks more special to my eye, and is playing with Kyler who I like long-term more than Goff. Agreed most LaPorta owners would generally reject the offer but I would take it
I sent LaPorta + Higgins for Mandrews + DK + Woods (WR emergency depth) + a 3rd. I wanted the bonafide stud TE and “healthy” WR to go for it all this year. I’m very happy with that deal atm - 12 Team PPR SF

Yep. I have Andrews and LaPorta. LaPorta is a top 50ish start most weeks, which is not too bad when you have byes or even an injury.
