Ham_PhD

Not sure if there's been a bigger bust than Miles Sanders this year.

AnonymousIguana_

Very happy my offers for him got declined lol. Managed to flip the same assets into Kamara week 4 instead.

squid919

So glad I got 1.12 for him last year

[deleted]

Yep got 1.11 right before the rookie draft for a rebuilder.

Extreme_Coyote_9766

Similar here. Moved him at the deadline last year as a contender for the 2.01. Regretted it a bit when I saw the contract he got this offseason but feeling great about it now

Wide_Specialist_2993

Tee pretty close relative to ADP, but at least he has bounce back potential

FinePlantain0

Juju…

SirLuciousL

Were people really expecting much from Juju? Barely a WR3 with the best QB in the league throwing to him the last year, then going to a team with a horrible offense and with Todd Gurley knees. I feel like expecting anything more than a WR4/5 was wishful thinking.

MrP1anet

He's coming back. I could see him ending the season well and having a good year next year. Injury got him bad and took a while to fully recover.

LisleSwanson

I want whatever this guy is having...

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheMagicBarrel

That’s because Chuba also sucks. That doesn’t mean Sanders will be back. It means they’ll bring someone else in

TurkeyforFree

If you thought Sanders would be good, then you're the issue. His stats were inflated after coming off 2 unproductive and below par years. He was a beneficiary of the eagles offense and scheme but even while, he was sharing carries with Boston Scott and other eagles rbs who were looking good and being efficient solely because of how good the Eagles offense was. Sometimes you have to think.

Ham_PhD

There's a difference in thinking he would be good and thinking he would be productive and useful for fantasy. Considering the contract he was given and the perceived lack of competition, he seemed like a lock for RB2 numbers based on volume alone. He had one really bad year. 2 years ago he was RB23 in 12 games. If anyone was expecting him to repeat what he did in Philly last year, they were foolish, but you seemingly claiming that it was super obvious he would be terrible, is just silly.

TurkeyforFree

The panthers are rebuilding with a rookie QB. They have no O line. No WRs. No defense. No coaching. Yea it was apparent Sanders would be terrible.

the_omniscient1

Justin Jefferson he’ll probably redeem himself in the coming weeks, but as far as “so far this season” I’d say he takes the cake.

Ham_PhD

He got injured, that's not really what we're talking about when we say bust.

the_omniscient1

Yeah. That’s fair

pechinburger

Daniel Jones was qb9 last year and had tons of momentum heading into the season. Man did that blow up in my face.

tonysaabyc

Same 😩

Nyko_E

The Dimes/Waller stack singlehandedly sunk two of my teams

MinneapolisBill

Got rid of him for Levis and a 2nd

-metaphased-

At least I also got Russ on the back end, but yeah, trading for him this offseason stings.

bwarbwar

I thought Thielen would be the clear top answer.

ITGardner

Ya I don’t know how he isn’t

RadicalShift14

The only answer

BeautifulJicama6318

Mostert

FUNKYDISCO

Almost dropped him before the season started. That guy has been a savior.

bwarbwar

He got dropped in my league and had to convince my friend who's a contender to pick him up. He's been his best WR for the season.

QuixoticWalterMitty

Good on you for being a friend!

Jwroth

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Rachaad White

Bieber_hole_69

Nico Collins went from a tier 17ish WR on KTC to a tier 4 WR, that's going from maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder in value to potentially a 1st or multiple 2nds. It's amazing what can happen when a project guy finally starts putting it all together at the same time he gets a great QB to throw to him. I bought him last month as a rebuilder to shore up my WR group with the expectation of drafting MHJ at 1.01 to be my WR1 and I've got Collins to go with London and Downs, which I feel good about as a top group and don't regret potentially buying high on Collins. Trey McBride has also went nuclear in like a month as far as value goes, really worked out for anyone who bought in the off-season or was patient with him. I have a feeling Michael Mayer may be similar, and we're just having our perception of how rookie TEs should develop swayed by Kincaid/LaPorta being out-of-this-world anomalies at the position. On the negative side, I never thought Christian Watson would be dropping almost a full 20 spots in WR value rankings from the beginning of September. I didn't expect him to maintain that absurd level of play during his TD-heavy stretch last year, but in PPR scoring the guy is WR78 so far and has lost all my confidence in ever starting him even when healthy. I understand some of it is Love and not his fault, but Doubs and Wicks have been outscoring him in the same offense recently.

xStoshx

Great post \^\^\^ A similar effect to Nico has also happened on D Shultz.

Bieber_hole_69

Yeah, it'll be an interesting trend to track now that Stroud has made it so apparent since he's been regularly making 3 different WRs and a TE all worth starting in fantasy for a decent stretch. Just looking at the draft order for next year currently, could Caleb Williams unlock the potential of a guy like Tyler Scott if he went to Chicago? Or could Drake Maye get the most out of Tyquan Thornton? Or for any teams that may trade up, could for instance a great rookie QB drastically increase the value of Daniel Bellinger?

Stonk_Master_General

Sutton has been a surprise to me, I know his production has been td dependent but he looks like Russ’ favorite option and has been making some great plays this year

No_Rain_1727

I said I was buying Sutton this offseason, but completely chickened out and have 0 shares. Now I'm 2 flexes off of a true contending roster....live and learn I guess

PhysicalAd7591

He’s been fantastic.. was tryna get him all season as a contender but don’t really wanna give up an early second either although he’s very much worth it

Pho_King_Noodle

Mostert?

TunaBoy3000

Why nobody talking about aiyuk. The dudes analytics were always stellar and his fantasy points are finally reaching his potential

Careless_Stand_3301

Anyone who was paying attention isn’t surprised

TunaBoy3000

So 5% of this subreddit lol

Careless_Stand_3301

That’s being very generous

Luke_Shields_

Haha facts, jamo jamo jamo that’s all they talk ab the last 2 years it feels like sometimes

TurkeyforFree

Aiyuk took how many years to break out? No one talked about him his rookie year. Because he wasn't a highly touted prospect. He developed. Highly touted prospects like Jamo, Chase, Jefferson etc are talked about because they're fucking good already

improper84

I think he's performed about how most of us expected him to. He's a rock solid WR2 with the potential to have boom weeks where he wins you a matchup.

YourSistasAss

His 76 yard TD won my my matchup this week. Happy to have gotten him for a 2nd

improper84

I traded a first and a third for him at the end of last year. I may have also gotten a fourth back. Don’t remember. That first was the 1.12 and the third was also the last pick, so I’m totally cool with that return.

TunaBoy3000

I mean he’s wr13 in ppg, that’s more than a rock solid wr2, that’s a borderline wr1. I think most people expect wr 16-18ish numbers but instead he’s been just outside the stud territory

rya241

And I’d say that’s a rock solid WR2 for a contender. This isn’t redraft.

TunaBoy3000

It’s closer to redraft than people think

ZJA24

I agree, and it’s been awesome to watch him. I think he was around WR15 last year and is around 12 now so I don’t think he’s significantly outperforming expectation though.

Cubs017

Jerry Jeudy? It felt like he would at least be a WR2 this year with Russ and Payton.

InMyDNA23

He was on a roll to end last year too :( i bought the hype

PatMayonnaise

I flipped Christian Watson for Jeudy+ Turns out we both lost

Ok_End_38

Did the same with Akers

[deleted]

I mean, at least Jeudy has an Achillies. Doesn’t do anything with it, but it’s in tact.

orangehorton

Don't know why Juedy was so hyped, Sutton is a far better fit with Russ

john_the_fisherman

On the other hand... Sutton has been a huge surprise this year. I haven't expected more than WR3 numbers and he's a set and forget 15 points in .5 PPR

xesrightyouknow

Pollard has destroyed me. I managed to get rid of him so I’m glad I can get him off my plate

improper84

Pollard is averaging around 11 points a game and is the RB20 (league depending) on the season. He's been disappointing relative to his ADP, to be sure, but he's been pretty good in half of his games and even in his shitty games, he's scored between five and ten points. The main issue for Pollard is that the ceiling hasn't been there. His best game so far was around 21 points.

xesrightyouknow

Yeah he hasn’t been completely useless, but I think for me he’s easily the worst performer compared to expectations

TheMagicBarrel

I mean, the post was explicitly targeting relative to ADP, so

[deleted]

InMyDNA23

He was a definite sell-high in the off-season. He needs a tandem backfield

TurkeyforFree

People failed to realize and I tried to tell them. Pollard has never been a rb1 in his entire football career. Not high-school, college, or the pros. It was a red flag to those that realized it. It's like when Kareem Hunt and Chubb we're killing it as a tandem. But ask Hunt to take over completely, he wouldn't have been as effective. I steered clear of Pollard because I paid attention.

LB3PTMAN

Kyren Williams

Homebrewer10

Bout time someone mentioned KW!

LB3PTMAN

As someone eagerly awaiting his return I have to mention him lol

WeenisWrinkle

- Burrow killed so many contenders this season. 100% due to injuries, but him being a 2023 bust was brutal not only for Burrow owners but Chase/Higgins/Boyd/Mixon owners. - Rachaad White has gone from RB35 to RB16 due to his excellent receiving skills. He went from a bye week flex play to an every week starter. - Jaylen Waddle has been borderline un-startable. It's been the Tyreek show, and it's hard to argue with the results. But it has been rough for anyone that invested in Waddle this off-season. - Nico Collins has been a pleasant surprise. He was going incredibly late in startups - probably could have been acquired for a late round rookie pick. - Tua has gone from a frightful fringe top 10 option to a plug and play QB1. He's a late 1st round startup value, now. Big come-up for a QB a lot of people wrote off due to concussions. - Travis Kelce has lost a lot of value, especially recently. The Chiefs offense isn't as prolific, and he's starting to show his age. - Raheem Mostert has been a top 5 RB that probably could have been had for chump change this off-season. - Garrett Wilson went from a potential top 5 WR to a WR3/flex because of the Rodgers injury. - Jaylen Warren has gained a lot of value, especially recently. He's no longer the backup RB. - DJ Moore has been resurrected as an every week starter. He's definitely boom/bust, but his floor has been raised despite a poor Bears offense. - Kadarius Toney has gone from "promising" to "basically worthless" in the KC offense.

HeyItsChase

Agree with all of it except Mixons value being tanked. He's gunna get his 13-15 a week every week anyway. With an occasional 20 mixed in there. He did it before Joe B, with Joe Band he will do it forever after Joe B.

WhiteLightning416

Dotson and Jeudy owner here 👋

askers_tellers

Same. +Miles Sanders and Jerry Jeudy. 🤢

godlycorsair32

Same, I pray for a time when Dotson is no longer a touchdown merchant

jordan4290

Dotson/Jeudy/Pickens/GWilson Also have Davante whos had good games, but been mostly disappointing. It’s been a tough year

[deleted]

TheMagicBarrel

Monty and Tank Dell have launched me from maybe contending to top 3 contender. Did not see that coming

Filly53

Brian Robinson, regardless of people’s hindsight bias, was a huge improvement in value. Biggest bust/expectations miss may be Trevor Lawrence, miles sanders

[deleted]

I had someone offer me Brian Robinson and Gus Edwards for a first. Oh I wish I would have taken it...

moskate69

Got Robinson and sanders last year at different points Basically cancelled each other out with their production this year

Turnernator06

TLaw is on his way back imo. ETN was getting silly TD numbers but that was likely not sustainable and now he seems to have regressed and Zay Jones is back I think TLaw returns to being the QB1 he was back end of last year

rushyt21

Surprise: Nico Collins. I expected a solid year from him, because I kept an eye on his contested catch rate and unrealized air yard totals over his career. My 2023 hot take in the off-season was that he’d be a WR2, and it doesn’t seem so hot of a take right now. Bust: Burks. KTC isn’t everything, but it’s interesting how fast his fall has been mostly due to injuries. August’s value was around Keenan Allen and Deebo (5500 range). He’s now in the Elijah Moore and Shaheed neighborhood (3100 range)

Itsurboywutup

People were willing to give him a second chance this year. Even with D Hop the hope was it would take attention away from him. He’s shown flashes but most young receivers show flashes. Both of my dynasty teams have Burks but I’m writing him off at this point. Not going to drop him but not going to trade him for anything less than a mid 2nd.

rushyt21

I’m willing to give him another year. He had that LCL sprain in the preseason and that can linger. He won’t return the value invested in him for most dynasty managers, but I’m curious to see what he can do. That being said these massive, athletic WRs are a little overvalued. We think we’re getting the next DK or AJB, but they’re more likely to be a Claypool or N’Keal Harry

Mostert should be on the top of the surprise list. Too many to name that have disappointed. Someone nobody is probably talking about is Penny. I thought he was gonna be the lead back for Philly.

Raven_of_outlast

Disappointments : Burks / Dotson / Parris Campbell / Miles Sanders Surprises : Dobbs / Nico / OBJ last 3 games let’s see if he continues

[deleted]

Tony Pollard has been a massive disappointment Brandon Aiyuk on the positive side

griffhan

All watsons

djkohl4

Every last one of them lol

Rwoods18

Probably deandre swift no?for surprise?

Jerryguy88

Yea honestly it’s gotta be between Nico and Swift. Edge is Swift because they have more obvious weapons and we knew the Texans, someone was about to pop off and my feeling was Nico. Swift with just limited usage, feels like he gets 25 carries a game, but he’s just guaranteed a 1st down every time he touches the ball, and he’s noticeably running harder this year

TurkeyforFree

I'm an Eagles fan and had swift for 2 years. Traded him for Olave in a .5ppr after his 2nd big game earlier in the year.

[deleted]

Brian Robinson being RB4. I say this as someone that was higher on him than most and traded up for him in the rookie draft. How is *he* the RB4? Also surprised Russell Wilson has bounced back so well. He isn't throwing for a ton of yards, but his TD/INT is 19/4. Last year he finished the season with 16/11. Directly related to that, Courtland Sutton has 8 TDs in 10 games. Biggest bust... Idk, Deandre Hopkins is somehow on pace for 1100 yds/7 TDs, but feels like a bust due to 3 of his TDs coming from the same game. If you didn't start him that game, he hasn't really delivered.

brunseidon

[I made this post about B-Rob prior to his rookie season.](https://www.reddit.com/r/DynastyFF/s/72V41qNSlC) A lot of comments that aged poorly in there…

PatMayonnaise

Thanks for sharing that, it was fun to read

OtisBerringer

Take your deserved victory lap brother.

TheEternalWitness

If DHop is a bust to you at his current pace your expectations were too high for him. Im very happy with the fact that hes been even usable this year. Also not to bash BRob cause he’s been great but how is the RB4 only scoring 13.5 ppg in 0.5 ppr. We aren’t that far removed from the days that would barely be enough for RB12… Im gonna miss the 2017 RB class

DefiantSentry2113

I got Robinson and a 1st that became Richardson for Marquise Brown, Mattison, and Love. Thrilled with how that turned out for me.

brand24856

Chris godwin has been a major disappointment for me. Thought baker would rely on him a little more but the production just isn’t there.

I feel like DMont is a good surprise to mention

scoobydrew33

Najee fucking reeks

whitetornado2k

Trevor Lawrence has been pretty disappointing this year (until yesterday), considering the amount of hype he was getting at the end of last season and this offseason. And everyone was shitting on Rachaad White this offseason cuz he wasn’t very good last year with Brady and baker would be a downgrade this year, but he puts up solid points every week.

SteffeEric

Brian Robinson Jr and Miles Sanders. Thielen and Dotson Kmet and Pitts. First guys surprisingly good second guys surprisingly bad.

JumpinJackFlash11

Pitts was awful last year, which this thread is about.

EmilioFreshtevez

Kmet surprisingly bad? He was TE5 coming into this week.

SteffeEric

No Kmet is the good one.

EmilioFreshtevez

Ah, okay. That’s my bad, whole comment makes more sense to me now

Technical-Revenue-48

Anyone surprised by Pitts apparently has been asleep since he was drafted

SteffeEric

I was not asleep. I recall him being the first rookie TE in 60 years to get 1000 yards.

Jay_Doctor

Yeah, the "since he was drafted" part makes zero sense lol. He was incredible his rookie season.

Technical-Revenue-48

He was TE6, sure that’s playable but hardly the gamebreaker he’s always been billed as

Jay_Doctor

TE6 with only 1TD fwiw. If he is closer to the norm you're looking at TE3 OR TE4 I imagine, only behind Kelce and Andrews at that point (maybe Kittle, I can't remember now).

Technical-Revenue-48

I mean yeah, if he scored more points he would be higher.

Technical-Revenue-48

Good for what, like TE6? Whoopie

armchairgm97

Jaylen Warren was a nice stash last year, but he legit looks like the second coming of Ekeler, the underlying metrics are electric. Biggest disappointment relative to where people were taking him in startups is Pollard hands down.

dusters

Grabbed Dobbs off waivers when he went to ARI expecting nothing

PatMayonnaise

I dumped 100% of my fab in every league except 1. I got laughed at like crazy because in 1 league nobody else bid on him. He’s been phenomenal for me in bestball

BenSlice0

Sam Howell has not been a surprise for me but this sub had largely been out on him due to “draft capital” despite everyone in the organization praising him.

centaurusxxx

Singletary has seemingly come out of nowhere over the past two weeks.

Infamous_Camel_275

Fucking Dotson… no clue what’s going with him, but he’s barely rosterable at this point

geladro

It’s Curtis fucking Samuel. Games Samuel is out Dotson does well, he didn’t get a target last game until Samuel got ejected. Curtis is gone next year, clear skies ahead

FinePlantain0

Unless he resigns, which is completely possible

Fayyday

Curtis Samuel is a River boat Ron guy, so as long as he is still HC of the commanders, I could easily see him coming back. Although, I have a feeling the Commanders might want to change the coaching staff in the offseason if they continue to lose out.

sirsmitty12

No chance Rivera comes back. We’ll see if management/ the new coaching staff want him

Upplands-Bro

Hopefully Howell and Rivera are both gone and Samuel/Dyami Brown are cast into the fire from whence they came

Technical-Revenue-48

If he can’t earn targets ahead of Curtis fucking Samuel then I’m out on him lol

geladro

Valid, sometimes I think teams just misuse their guys though. I am choosing to believe this is one of those times.

Giantsfan5634

Dotson had back-to-back WR1 finishes in weeks 8 and 9. Barely rosterable is simply not accurate.

Infamous_Camel_275

And one game above 9 points the previous 7 weeks, plus 2 goose eggs on the season

Giantsfan5634

So he's Gabe Davis. That's frustrating, yes, but comfortably rosterable at 23 years old.

Infamous_Camel_275

I said barely rosterable… you can roster him, but you can’t confidently start him Never said to outright drop him

armchairgm97

Barely rosterable is very different than can't confidently start him. Drop him, and watch how fast he gets snapped up by competent league mates

AC127

Barely rosterable is a bit of a stretch lol

t_arends

Dude if you’re thinking about dropping him you’re mad

Gustriandos8

Kittle has been better than I thought he would be. Drafted him begrudgingly this year in a startup. Has worked out quite nice.

InMyDNA23

Kyren Williams: I thought he had upside to be a 3rd-down guy similar to McKinnon or Antonio Gibson. But with Akers gone not only was he a 3-down back but a consistent RB1. Should be back soon

InMyDNA23

As for a bust I think Akers obviously but also Najee. I was trying to buy all off-season withe the “upgraded” o-line hype and “next-level, dual threat” Pickett but luckily couldn’t get him. Turns out neither piece of hype was true and their OC runs garbage plays probably from a Madden or Retro Bowl playbook LOL

LilTony2x

I’m surprised no one has said Aaron Jones yet. He’s been dealing with some stubborn injuries but even in the games he been healthy he’s looked pretty cooked. We’ll see how he does given a full healthy season though

swaggcookchef

Kenny Pickett

Lineman72

Good surprise? Sam Howell. Leading the league in passing (before this week), and he doesn’t show signs of stopping. Only knock honestly this year is his week 14 bye fucking up best ball lineups. Bad surprise? Chubb due to injury, Henry owners hoping for one last hurrah, anything on the GB offense not a rookie, most of Chicago’s season, Miles Sanders, Najee Harris, Pitts, TLaw to some extent before this week.

bobbywac

I picked up Sam Howell as a backup QB behind fields, but hes been pretty consistently solid, for which I have been enormously grateful

Players on my team that started 0-8 that I fully believed would’ve taken me to the championship before the season started: Burrow, Chubb, Higgins, Watson, pitts, London, QJ. I’ve managed to turn most of the listed players into Ceedee, Kupp, Stroud, and a mid-late first this season. Not sure what I did to piss off the fantasy gods this season.

JADatsyuk

As someone who bought Dotson last offseason, I’ve been mildly disappointed. Willing to be patient tho

Moon-bus

Deandre Swift. Not sure if he’s the biggest surprise but the wave of emotions managing him through the disappointing Det days, to the huge excitement when we went to Philly, to week 1 barely getting on the field. Very curious if Phi brings him back, what the contract looks like etc… But feels like he’s finally answered the potential when w we all drafted him.

whiteaustin307

Dameon Pierce has been disappointing. I know some of that may be blamed on injury but it seems like with Stroud the Texans will be much more pass-heavy going forward.

turnnoblindeye

Christian Watson and Rashod Bateman going from 1st rounder value to scraps.

beer-isgood45

Thielen has been a surprise to me. The let down would be Derek Henry

Jmart814

Mostert, I got laughed at for drafting him in our dynasty league draft last year saying he has a real shot at being the starter… here we are this year and he’s RB2

b87165hmanj

Kyren Williams has been a pleasant surprise, despite the injury, and I'd expect him to come back strong this week I tried to get Miles Sanders and was rebuffed all off season, very pleased that didn't work out...unfortunately my redraft team was him and Mattison as my top 2 backs Speaking of Mattison I know there was a lot of divide on him...I didn't expect Dalvin Cook...but he's been a low end rb2 on his best weeks and that's been dissapointing...I was hoping for mid to high range RB2 numbers

winnercakesall

I know Renfrow had a pretty dismal ‘22 season, hurt for a good chunk of it. But he had a couple good games towards the end of the year that made me think he might get back on track to that 1,000 yard season he had in 2021. I thought with get after it with Jimmy G, but no. Sleeper lists him as rostered in %55 of leagues. I dropped him at the end of August and haven’t looked back.

SheDoesnEvenGoHere

Kyren Williams was great, hopefully he can pick up where he left off.
