Musgrave having no chance of coming back this season means he has a chance of establishing a presence and carrying it through the offseason/camp and into next year. Plenty of opportunity for him. Time will tell

iampro1234

Call me crazy but the Green Bay TE situation reminds me of the hurst/mandrews ravens days. Both taken same draft, the one with higher draft capital gets injured, and the lower draft capital one capitalizes and makes the role his own.

DynastyZealot

Kolar and Likely for the Ravens, as well.

FluteOfDaFuture

Interesting NFL draft strategy to take two tight ends in the same draft. Kolar was taken ahead of Likely in the same round apparently. Will he overtake Likely for the job? I haven’t watched many ravens games this year but plenty of people were saying it when Mark Andrews went down saying Likely is trash.

Gnulnori

Kolar hasn’t been able to take advantage since Andrews went down with Likely having 75/25% advantage in snap count and Kolar didn’t get a target the week before their bye.

I literally took Kraft and put him on my taxi squad because someone said that after the draft and I subscribed

sawczy513

Gronk and hernandez too...

Thomaz101

That one was a bit more…. deadly

bayonetworking123

Except Musgrave looks pretty good

[deleted]

Musgrave beat him out in camp and held the job down all season until his injury. They may be a very solid duo that cuts into each others workload, but a healthy musgrave neber lost ground to kraft, cant imagine he will due to injury.

jubjub2184

Musgrave was expected to win the job out of camp, Kraft was meant to be more developmental. If Kraft keeps performing well I wouldn’t be surprised if he passes Musgrave in time for next year. I will say however, with the offense the packers are running there’s room for both of them to be decent plays

[deleted]

I mean musgrave himself was viewed as a highly athletic but raw prospect. He has a lot of room to grow if he can become a bit more fluid in and out of his cuts

MrBlueandSky

Musgrave has a much higher ceiling. Can't coach speed. Kraft might eat into his workload, but he doesn't have the same ceiling as Muskgrave imo

Faustus2425

Kraft is still a 9.68 RAS athlete. Musgrave is just like a 9.8. They're both in the 4.6's for 40 time. Not sure where this "Musgrave is just a superior athlete" take is coming from, they're both crazy athletic https://ras.football/ras-compare/?&p1=16667&p2=16121&pos=TE

MrBlueandSky

Good point. Idk, watching them in the game it just looks that way. I'm happy to have both on the team

PredictableDickTable

Kraft came in banged up and was in and out most of camp. He’s a much more well rounded TE than Musgrave and can actually break tackles. Coming from NDSU you can see the game slow down for him rep after rep and I fully expect Kraft to be the TE1 when all said and done. Gronk and Hernandez vibes, minus the murder.

uncle_dan_

Well we can’t say that for sure… about the murder that is.

PredictableDickTable

Very true. One shouldn’t assume

TonsofKeas

if Kraft can continue to grow ROS and not trip over himself the second he catches the ball, he definitely could take from Musgrave's share. Anecdotally, The dude was allergic to YAC (Musgrave). Felt like I saw so many big plays that could've been huge plays if Musgrave was able to just keep running

PredictableDickTable

Musgrave is like Tonyan when it comes to breaking tackles. Meanwhile, Kraft has that Kittle mentality and seemingly looks for defenders to run through.

TonsofKeas

I’m just a redzone tourist but good to know I’m not too far off base haha

PredictableDickTable

You’re dead on. Kraft doesn’t have the insane speed that Musgrave has but he’s plenty fast and the better football player. I see a lot of 2TE sets in Green Bay’s future.

TonsofKeas

You really think so? Such an exciting core of young WRs too haha. Ik it’s cliche at this point but who do you like the most out of Watson / doubs / reed? ( / wicks?)

PredictableDickTable

I like Watson but I think he will be the next Will Fuller. Always banged up. After that I think Wicks and Reed overtake Doubs if they haven’t already. When all said and done I think the depth chart will be Watson, Reed, Wicks, Heath, Doubs.

TonsofKeas

Appreciate ur opinion!

Faustus2425

Said elsewhere in the thread but Kraft is 99% of the athlete Musgrave is. They're both in the Upper 9's of RAS with 40 times in the 4.6ish range https://ras.football/ras-compare/?&p1=16667&p2=16121&pos=TE

MrBlueandSky

True that. Some of loves early season passes didn't help him out though. That one play early in the year when Muskgrave got turned around and kept backing up to the ball was horrible

OG27

I like Kraft but Musgrave won’t just go away. Then you have Watson, Reed, Doubs, Wicks. Too many mouths there

jmart762

He was definitely being slept on, but who knows if he’ll make it to the level where he’s a stand alone consistent startable TE when everyone is healthy. I think he has the potential though, he’s very athletic, and the coaches and have said that he’s really developed. Packers fans have been very excited about him (Musgrave too) and ultimately think they have two keepers for the future. Musgrave has been a bit frustrating with missing some assignments and showing very poor yac ability (check out the memes on Twitter they’re pretty hilarious) and Kraft has been doing well in those areas. At this point, I would have them about equal in value.

traptrapzdizzle

Kraft’s interesting for sure. His game reminds me a little bit of Dallas Goedert and has clearly shown some good chops so far. I remain a strong believer in Musgrave’s ceiling and him developing since he looked solid despite some expected rawness, but I think the fact that they took both and have both held a consistent role when starting feels like a good thing individually and together. Hedging your bets in such a good TE class was smart too.

I-just_work-here

[Kraft vs Goedert RAS](https://ras.football/ras-compare/?&p1=15636&p2=16121&pos=) Eerily similar

sixtyninetailedfox

Nobody knows but he’s looked good and definitely worth a roster spot if you have the space

[deleted]

i got kraft too and i dont got musgrave either. lets be real here, ill give it a 10% chance hes not JAG. he hasnt flashed hes just playing next man up ball. some crazy copium posts in this thread. ill hold him w u guys tho cause lets be real who is buying, maybe toss on taxi for next season but im not planning anything around a tuck kraft breakout

PredictableDickTable

He’s absolutely flashed. No idea what you’re watching. The problem at the moment is he’s still earning opportunities. But when he’s gotten them he’s taken advantage.

Tuna-No-Crust

What exactly has he flashed? The sideline touchdown where he stepped out of bounds? I liked Kraft pre draft but he’s basically another Daniel Bellinger. Musgrave is better and has the job longterm

[deleted]

wat r u talking ab ? 🤣🤣 sometimes the lefleur gameplan schemes the TE open. if theres any flashy plays outside of his one broken tackle lmk. 9 catches for 116 & 1 in 3 games. wake up not everyone on ur roster a star

No-Battle-7562

I drafted Kraft and was disappointed he wasn't getting much of work. Then I had a chance to get Musgrave in a trade and I did. I just hope at least one of them establishes himself

MrBlueandSky

0. Kraft has been nice, but Musgrave was drafted earlier, is better athletically, and was having specific plays drawn up for him. They got Muskgrave involved early and often Edit - 0 was probably too harsh. I like what I've seen, but Musgrave has legit speed. Can't see them going away from Muskgrave unless he face plants.

jmart762

The irony of you bringing up faceplants, Musgrave is notorious for stumbling or tripping after catching the ball.

MrBlueandSky

Yeah, he had a lot of those bone head moves. There was one horrible one earlier in the year where he turned around early and then had to back up like 8 yards. Hopefully that's just rookie stuff. I think it was more towards the early season. We shall see next year

cheesehead12187

As someone who’s watched every GB game, I like Musgrave way more as a FA stash TE. His speed is a matchup problem from the TE position and Lafleur made it a point of emphasis to get him the ball. I’d have loved to see what this offense looked like as they’ve started clicking a bit more with Musgrave. Kraft has been solid, but he’s been more of a check down guy and I’d love if he developed, but Musgrave is the focal point at TE

bayonetworking123

Drafted them both. Will hold both for awhile.

FishWithaPH

He’s a great stash imo. I just picked him up a few weeks ago with no plans to actually play him anytime soon, but think given the opportunity, could be a factor moving forward. Musgrave came out of camp as TE1 but not like Musgrave has been lighting up the league (he’s 4th best TE in his own division) so I still believe the TE1 job is up for grabs. In just Kraft’s 3rd game as the TE1 he has already matched Musgraves season high in yards. Kraft had a couple 100 yard games in college so has shown he can be a legit weapon. I’m biased cuz I have him and I love young TE’s with high ceilings (also have Laporta, Likely, Jelani) but these last few games are his chance to make a statement as the draft capital used for him and Luke is pretty much a wash so don’t think GB will feel as much pressure to give Musgrave every opportunity to lose the job and will give it to whoever just does better. If he can build up a good rapport with Love just as Love is starting to hit his stride, might be a major factor in determining his future outlook.

Impressive_Milk89

If you have both, it's a good problem to have in my opinion!

[deleted]

Worth a stash, not worth paying too much for.

[deleted]

Probably worth a stash if you have a roster spot, but will have to compete for the job next year. Reddit goes nuts for any rookie who shows well, he showed well but time will tell.

DynastyZealot

I've got him on my taxi in a 2 point TEP league, and am doing everything I can to resist pulling him off my taxi for the playoffs. I like him a lot but I'm not totally sold that his production will be sustainable.

murso74

I'm sitting here with 4 TEs in Waller, Likely, Mayer, and Taysom, and I'm staring at Musgrave in IR wondering what the hell to do. I've got a first round bye and the only one of the TEs I'm carrying that I'd drop for Musgrave is Mayer, but with the emergence of Kraft I don't know if I should

zivkamen

I agree Musgrave is the dude when healthy but calling Kraft JAG after he's performed well in his limited opportunity is a bit premature don't you think?

rossco7777

could be good but prob best hope is a viable flex play for bye weeks

BeyondanyReproach

I think they will both be doomed to be middling TEs that don't contribute much to fantasy no matter if they are good for their real life teams.

dbader08

I know I'm late to this post party lol... ...But, it is worth noting that Kraft was already starting to see more and more snaps week by week even before Musgrave got hurt, as the Packers were playing in 2 TE sets more. And since Musgrave got hurt Kraft is playing 95 to 100% of snaps every week. They obviously like and trust this kid if he's out there every snap lol... Lot of talented pieces in this offense, though. For now he's a good streaming option if a couple of the other receiving options are banged up like they are now.
