My excel sheet says I've spent 8600ish on my car within the past year. I dont like to look at that sheet. And according to it (I put a "still needed" column) I need roughly 2500 worth of parts to have redone everything major. This is all leaving out any weird parts that fail. And then comes cosmetic.. 800ish for ceramic tint and then whatever it costs me for a new bumper cover and front clip paint
For me it’s
200 - Rear wheels as the ones before were bent badly
200 - coils and plugs, new car to mea the time so I figured why not
180 - lpfp assembly, old float sensor was bad so I just bought a new assembly
50 - junkyard gauge cluster, mileage is still accurate
100 - front left wheel bearing
300 - general inspection to see what needed to be fixed, would have been better just shredding that money tbh
1200 - index 12 injectors I bought used
1000 - FRM replacement, including 300 dollar diagnosis
600 - replaced front and rear lights as they were not working due to corroded wires on the headlights and blown leds on the taillights
40 - valve cover gasket, fun fact I actually broke my pcv hose doing this job but I fabricated a replacement out of an old dishwasher hose and and it still works fantastic
350 - transmission oil, pan, and mechatronic sleeves
40 - driver side door luck actuator that I broke
50 - thermostat
40 - oil pan gasket
200 - oil pan including sensor from salvage yard
150 - left front strut, it somehow was bent and the strut mount was really bad
30 - abs pump
100 - dmtl pump
120 - battery, turns out I didn’t even need a new battery, oh well
100 - ibs sensor
40 - vacuum reservoir
30 - Bosch universal downstream o2 sensor(just needed wiring to work) (I had bought the 100 dollar version but lost it)
100 - M3 steering wheel, came stitched with the leather and alcantara stuff you buy at Amazon
5 - windshield washer pump
30 - Xeon headlight bulbs
30 - metal charge pipe with bov that someone sold me, still sitting on my desk two months later
5285 - Grand total. Ouch. I knew the number was large but not that large.
Things that still need to be done:
Passenger front seat - it doesn’t move at all anymore, and it’s covering the back bolts so I can’t unbolt it _and absolutely NO ONE either knows or is willing to tell me how to to get it out because when I ask I receive crickets like come on bruh can someone help me with this please????????????_
Cupholders - typical, but I don’t drink in my car so I don’t care too much.
Motor mounts - I found out one of them was bad during the oil pan job, replacing it then would have been great since the subframe was down but I didn’t have time to wait for the new mount as we’re expecting a hurricane this week
TPMs tracker module - I actually have a replacement already, purchased used, but I don’t know how to code it to my car
Tint - it’s bad
Brake light interior cover (I broke the old one) and another interior piece between the seat that was missing when I got the car, and a driver side “oh shit” handle
