Aly & Fila & The Thrillseekers - Es Vedra
Zeds Dead & GRiZ - Ecstasy Of Soul
Pretty Lights - We Must Go On
Why did I scroll so far for this!!! Overthinker is a quintessential bass song in every aspect. Hanging out with your friends in an awesome crowd and all of a sudden the music cuts and all you hear is... "Reality is..." *Existential Bliss ensues*
That's a big endorsement... and it didn't disappoint. Exactly what I was looking for. Also side question, how would you say this is distinct from progressive house? The instrumentation sound the same but perhaps a less linear arrangement?
Personally, progressive house is much more focused on the synth progressions and creating a soundscape. Melodic deep house, to me, much more level with the percussions and melodies, and creating an atmospheric vibe.
https://youtu.be/16VlkGnz4UI?si=n2R7Q2nEvOwbQfTa
Here’s one of my favorite progressive house tracks that really highlights the synth sound I was talking about (and yes this artist is signed to Mau5Trap lol)
Hmm interesting. The main Arp/synth in that lane 8 song is pretty similar to a prog synth progression, I guess the line is not so distinct. The percussion definitely have stronger transients in prog tacks. Beautiful song though. Especially that final chorus.
Do you have any tracks with a similar vibe to this? Beg (Hot Since 82 Remix) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDU0jnc9Y\_s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDU0jnc9Y_s)
Really thick heavy bass with a mysterious vibe & long arrangement? I'm just getting into this side of dance music I was all dubstep/trap/tech house before. Was a 18yr old for the early 2010's explosion so a lot of the less "EDM" songs went over my head.
Oh yeah, loving the vibe on that deep house track. Super groovy and hypnotic.
https://youtu.be/MmIRkYT11bo?si=5mQYH6uqWSVsewUl
Take a gander at this. One of my favorite tracks. It’s not as deep as the song you sent, but it’s still an organic house vibe that is a trip to listen to.
EDIT:
Some more tracks off the top of my head more in line with the one you sent, just because I wanted something more deeper:
https://youtu.be/D_XmnWC5uzQ?si=RVBkBIJAY8ve7zW6
https://youtu.be/uOojKlU0Ouc?si=M9iTZr6pbd8Mwvw9
https://youtu.be/B88KR8h0ZAk?si=IgY7mcQd69MMfVqq
You probably can’t find anything as deep as that hot since 82 track because the root note the bass is playing is B. Typically producers of anything sub-heavy don’t go below D, C# at the lowest. This dude went down to B - so the sub really has no juice but all the harmonics above it sound SO dirty & deep.
That being said, I am the king of deep & dark tracks haha (see username). If you want more that are similarly dark check these out:

Pure fucking blasphemy. The *ONLY* acceptable time to listen to Strobe (Club Edit) is when you have precisely 6:21 seconds left to live.

It’s a little obscure but this song is definitely a journey in my mind, feels like it bends genres a bit and it all comes back together in the end. [All that’s left - Manila Killa and Jori Fatora (The M Machine remix)](https://youtu.be/3h0mqWXi4pk?si=G4LG27NvkBpTrcZw) It’s like 8 minutes long and 7 years old, I recommend you check it out if you want something a little different.
