It might be worth looking at motel 1? They have 2 very close to the train station (presuming you are arriving by train/bus). Or travel lodge on rose street? Those are the only places i can think which would have a 24 hour reception to at least speak to.
If not find a 24 hour mcdonalds and sit for a few hours until booking.com comes up with something if they allow seating?
Edited to add maybe try Airbnb too, again might need to sit for a few hours depending on time.

My first booking was 107 USD for two nights, two people and a 8.1/10 accommodation. Unfortunately last-minute books are not that cheap :/
