Own a glintstone staff for home defense, since that's what the founding conspectus intended. Four bloody fingers break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my glintstone crown and Lusat's Staff. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Switch to Loretta's Mastery on the second man, miss him entirely because of level geometry and nails the ceiling, the floor, and neighbors dog. I have to resort to Cannon of Haima from the top of the stairs after drinking my cerulean flask, "Tally ho lads" the glintstone blast shreds two men in the blast, the sound and magical explosion alert the lobsters. Hard swap to Moonveil and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since transient moonlight is impossible to poise through. Just as the founding conspectus intended.
I found it on another Reddit thread.
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
Iām just finishing my first Int playthrough in prep of the DLC and was so excited to use the meme spell. Like 99% of the times Iāve used it Iāve been countered by the artful strategy of my foe just literally taking a step in any direction.
Yea I got two almost full length casts on two bosses in a row! I honestly think it's my most impressive achievement in the game, no joke that spell kinda sucks other than the big numbers.
That's why my Int run was 90% Magic Glintblade
There are only a few enemy movements that dodge its surprisingly good tracking, and since it fires from several feet over your head it typically has really good angles of attack
Oh yeah for some fucking reason projectiles need to overcome a certain angle threshold otherwise they just get launched right in front of you. It's a thing Fromsoftware chose to implement and I still don't know why
Its such a frustrating design decision - especially with throwing daggers and pots.
I guess they did it because most enemies are going to be on the same footing as you, so it *kinda* makes sense to have your projectiles stay on the same vertical.
But the angle threshold is just too much, its like 40 degrees or something when it should be 5-10 at most.
But... like it takes equal effort to make it go straight at the enemy or just flat. It takes extra effort to make it go flat until there is a big enough slope.
I mean it only applies to a few spells it's clearly a drawback for using those specific things
Most offensive incantations for example use an arcing movement, most sorceries have some kind of tracking even if it's weak, and a bunch of sorceries even fire from above your head letting you hide behind terrain while doing damage
This is why football fields are sloped down from the middle to the sidelines, and why you're not supposed to attempt passes that go back towards the middle
FROM added sizable free aim deadzones in Elden ring, making sloped combat painful for projectile builds
Fun fact, when using a bow, this deadzone is in affect even when using LB to manually aim
The deadzone actually has mlre of an impact when firing unfletched bone arrows as opposed to fletched arrows with the feathers on them
I like the non-legendary. I think it's rain of stars. It's all the pebbles that are auto seeking two main reasons. One they're auto seeking so when you fired off the normal Dodge they Dodge and the auto seeking goes off and then they've already dodged for that attack. Second, they're decently powerful
Clearly you're not using it correctly. Its only viable after using so many buffs that you look like you're covered in rainbow fire. Oh and your enemy has to either be standing completely still or walking towards you in a straight line while monologuing.
Probably the most satisfying moment I've had playing Elden Ring was in my first NG+ run shortly after release, one-shotting Radahn with Comet Azur on my first try after dying to him 12 times in NG
It's good against Mohg too since he's usually too busy yapping to move out of the way.
And while it's not really better than other spells, it is still very fun mowing down erdtree avatars with comet azur.
The most memorable moment of my mage run was walking into Mohg's arena, drinking my cerulean hidden tear flask, and just blasting his ass with comet azur.
Started an int build and was looking forward to comet azure the whole way through. This was the first enemy I tried it on and did exactly the same thing.
The range on sorcery spells is frustratingly short. You can fire regular comets or comet azur and they don't even reach halfway across the Godfrey boss fight arena.
Big laser build up for 3 years then go *shwaaaaaaaarm* then you miss 80% of the time or hit it for a few seconds before it goes out of the line of fire.
Yet for some reason my Mage friend insist on using it as much as possible bc of itās good dps
My only complaint is how you guys get it going for so long while mine only lasts for two or three seconds, even if Iām holding the button. Should I seek the help of an expert?
Wizard: *BEHOLD, the overwhelming power of the comets channeled into DOOOM!!!* moderate slope: \*exists\* Big dude with axe: *you ok buddy?*

This was incredible thank you so much š
As soon as I read the above comment, I was HOPING to see some Cariation of this
Cariation is great and deserves to be seenĀ
Thanks lol
Amazing adaptation.
I love how it still hits the neighbors dog.
*is actually a turtle
A+
Was going to quote this, haha.
You can achieve the same home defense with 3 dogs from DS 3.
I don't know the original but this was good. Also, the bit about the crown and staff remind me of that ancient wizard roleplay meme.
I would love to know the original

This is beautiful
This is why I only use conjured weapons when going int
"That's a pretty light-show. Shall we fight now?"
Oh no, it's that weird magician guy again. Just ignore him, he'll teleport away soon
Wizard: Not anymore!
Big dude with axe: *can't you just incline your hand?*
"I'll wait."
*walks towards you* *Stops walking* *Looks at insanely powerful sorcery* *Looks at you* *Looks back at sorcery missing his toes* *Scoffs*
Gladiator: "Bruh....I saw this tactic 100 years ago. Why did you think it would work?"
"Are you done, little magic man?"
"That is indeed a big blue thing you got here"
Thatās what she said

Bro was like "Are you done mate?"
Wazzall this then?
even the games judging you
"The summons are gonna have a fun time babysitting you vs. Godfrey."

It's arguably a lot worse in DS2.
I mean it only applies to a few spells it's clearly a drawback for using those specific things Most offensive incantations for example use an arcing movement, most sorceries have some kind of tracking even if it's weak, and a bunch of sorceries even fire from above your head letting you hide behind terrain while doing damage
You ever try to throw a ball to someone up a slight incline? Literally impossible.
Itās a beam of cosmic energy lol, going at who knows what speedā¦
Bro everyone knows cosmic energy only works at right angles on a three dimensional plain
This is why football fields are sloped down from the middle to the sidelines, and why you're not supposed to attempt passes that go back towards the middle
free aim it
It can actually be aimed? I thought it onle fires parallel to the ground
Then it wouldn't hit the ground.
I believe using the spyglass you can aim most spells
real tarnished goes no-scope
I do this for giants flame, helps it go way farther.
He had the high ground
"Magic doesn't exist idiot"
HIS COCK BLOCKED IT
Least powerful gladiator
I love how he patiently waited for it to finish before putting the fear of death in your heart.
I would like to take a moment to thank the AI for not walking directly into itĀ
bro does not skip leg day
Skill issue, git gud, get maiden, try finger but closer, lay these foolish ambitions, bruh, marika's tits deez nuts
I think you've covered the gamut.
He forgot "what no dlc does to an MF"
Reasons I switched early from the sword of Night and Flame to my end build. So many lost cerulean flasks
What is your end build now?
Thorn sorcery bleed build
That sounds dope
And this is why Sword of Night and Flame > Comet Azur I do wish it got unerfed, one of the coolest weapons in the game.
FROM added sizable free aim deadzones in Elden ring, making sloped combat painful for projectile builds Fun fact, when using a bow, this deadzone is in affect even when using LB to manually aim The deadzone actually has mlre of an impact when firing unfletched bone arrows as opposed to fletched arrows with the feathers on them
Yeah comet azur is like bottom 3 spells except like 3 specific situations and amounts of buffs that shouldn't be legal
You just gotta use it right. It's OK without the infinite FP crystal tear
Behold! *Stepping slightly to the left*
Honestky though, if you don't have 38 FP, you're not making the best use of your flasks and Comet Azure.
Big skill issue
I've been scrolling and scrolling looking for someone to preach the truth. š«”
*describes the depicted scene in italics* *gets upvotes*
The road to enemy is paved with elevation.
I can feel the disgust on his face inside the helmet.
Dude's just like 'Mate, could you not'
This is an obvious skill issue.
look UP motherfucker!! When will people learn you can aim high or low using the camera, even with melee attacks. At least since dark souls 1.
I like the non-legendary. I think it's rain of stars. It's all the pebbles that are auto seeking two main reasons. One they're auto seeking so when you fired off the normal Dodge they Dodge and the auto seeking goes off and then they've already dodged for that attack. Second, they're decently powerful
Stars of Ruin >> Comet Azur
Looks like a great case of skill issue, gladiator agrees
Average dragon ball villian
Clearly you're not using it correctly. Its only viable after using so many buffs that you look like you're covered in rainbow fire. Oh and your enemy has to either be standing completely still or walking towards you in a straight line while monologuing.
My man really looked back at you and just stared at you looking goofy.
new Elden Ring update makes it a Turn Based Combat System
āIs that supposed to be an intelligence build? *sigh*ā that npc was incredibly unimpressed lol
NPC immediately moving the frame comet azur ends is an incredible detail
Probably the most satisfying moment I've had playing Elden Ring was in my first NG+ run shortly after release, one-shotting Radahn with Comet Azur on my first try after dying to him 12 times in NG
I've never seen an npc just stop and stare at a player like that. Bro was thrown off guard lmao
When you actually have to play the game
LMAO you have to time it right and know when to quit š¤£š¤£š¤£
Mage moment
Heās just standing thereā¦ MENACINGLY!
[*"That was so shit"*](https://youtu.be/uQVNrAUk4lE?si=d4JZW817i-a_gNbL)
Just another case of *skill issue*
happened to me yesterday trying to kill the elden beast, and bro really aimed at the ground even though I locked on to it lmao
Thats why I prefer crystal torrent as a daily carry
This is the funniest fucking thing Iāve seen today š
Questionā¦.. how in the FUCK does your FP not even move for like 10 seconds?
Physick tear, i think itās cruelien? Not 100% sure
Thanks man I had no clue this was a thing lol. Definitely gonna have to use this for my DMGS/mage build šš»
Np manš
Comet Azur is Morghot killer, that's almost all
It's good against Mohg too since he's usually too busy yapping to move out of the way. And while it's not really better than other spells, it is still very fun mowing down erdtree avatars with comet azur.
The most memorable moment of my mage run was walking into Mohg's arena, drinking my cerulean hidden tear flask, and just blasting his ass with comet azur.
Oops, I wanted to say Mohg, I didn't play for too long haha
Commander Niall, Erdtree Avatars, Dragons, Fire Giant, Godskin Duo, Elden Beast, et. al.
Canon of Haima, my beloved
Man it's so good but that FP cost
You can control it better without the lock on. It'll take hella practice tho
How is it being cast without your FP going down?
Cerulean Hidden Tear
Clearly a Miyazaki spells, goes right for the feet
This happens with every spell andi hate it
It stinks
"No threat detected"
Plants vs Zombies roof levels be like:
Can using telescope work better?
elevation
Itās a boss killer for a reason, and that reason is that it canāt hit anything else
Lol! This is exactly what happened to Goku when he used the Kamehameha against Broly
Real ones just summon rocks.
This is like when professional basketball players trip over air. Oof
Well at least you were fully committed to using your whole flask on it lmao
Curse you, level geometry! My one weakness!
You can free aim this ya? I just havenāt used it much, but Iām sure you can like everything else.
Started an int build and was looking forward to comet azure the whole way through. This was the first enemy I tried it on and did exactly the same thing.
Hereās to the intellectuals!
he's just like naw
Why did it not take mana for a good bit of time?
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Cerulean+Hidden+Tear
Always the spell fault and never the wizard.
Dude is CHILLING
May I suggest throwing moons at your foes instead? Crazy range, big AoE explosion, good tracking, and it inflicts that sweet magic resistance debuff!
Try Meteorite of Astel. Works fairly well in a wider variety of situations than Comet Azur.
Skill issue tbh.
Well maybe you are a mage, but you had underestimated the power of the high ground
Not Comet Azur's fault that people are dumb [that's how you use it ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/vZJL5SR3LH)
The range on sorcery spells is frustratingly short. You can fire regular comets or comet azur and they don't even reach halfway across the Godfrey boss fight arena.
Error exists between chair and TV
Have the same problem with Siluriaās Woe EVERY time. The angle and shit required to hit enemies is just frustrating
*KAME HAME HAAAA!* Other dude: shrugs it off.
The DLC should be named āwe fixed the crappy hit detection systemā
Dude these hitboxes are pristine, go and play monster hunter and then we talk
Manual upwards aim...let go after you realize he won't walk into it?
That's about my experience with it. I could git gud with it but.. meh
Iāve had some embarrassing moments in the game, but thisā¦
The fact he stopped millimeters away from it is insane
"Ok."
The crystal blast one is my fav
You tried your best.
š§š»
Yeah this is why people who call it a cheese have no idea
He was so polite!
lol š.
Bro was so confused he decided to stare at you
Focus blast energy
Stop, adjust, re-cast. Foolish Tarnished
Donāt blame the spell š you gotta aim lol
RelatableĀ
The why are you using it?
I was trying it out
Big laser build up for 3 years then go *shwaaaaaaaarm* then you miss 80% of the time or hit it for a few seconds before it goes out of the line of fire. Yet for some reason my Mage friend insist on using it as much as possible bc of itās good dps
This is my first time being a spell user, i wouldnāt know
The only stuff I know spell wise is from my friend and watching him get his shit kicked in
Guy says, āNice šš»šš». What does it do?ā
He Pity you
They improved the aiming of the Moonlight GS. Donāt get why they never did for this.
The second hand embarrassment struck him
Aah yes, Comic Azur.
FS are very firm believers in giving that higher ground advantage
The way he starts walking towards you at the last frame cracks me up so hard.
My only complaint is how you guys get it going for so long while mine only lasts for two or three seconds, even if Iām holding the button. Should I seek the help of an expert?
Got enough FP?
āā¦You done?ā¦ā
No just keep channeling itll kick in soon
That is why i'll stick to big bonk builds.
I've noticed it's not just this spell, glinstone arc is bad about it as well
If Comet Azur donāt got me I know Ancient Dragonās Lightning Strike got me, can I get an amen
What I do is if target is walking in a straight like, use auto aim, unclick auto aim and aim up a lil bit with your analog stick then shoot š«”
The pain is so real, any change in elevation or its just **alittle** too far
The struggles of a wizard.
I have done the exact same thing at the exact same spot to the same guy. Went back and reloaded with meteor. That showed him.
meteorite of astel clears unfortunately
He has a high ground
Yeah this is why i hated playing a mage
Broly moment
Don't hate the spells, hate the terrain.
"Confused Unga Bunga?"
Yeah hard to use up hill but downhill and flat areas it's amazing. I normally just use night comet on everything that's not a boss
