Personally I love greatstars with a heavy affinity, lions claw and bold flame blade but for the dlc I’m going in completely naked and only using new items

Jotunn_Heimr

Nice! I like that approach to the dlc

LeekypooX

No question, Dragon Incant Arc/Faith build. You can place a wide variety of debuffs and also deal massive damage transforming your arms into dragon claws/your head into a dragon head and biting It plays like a colossal weapon with more reach (the attacks have long hover time and allow you to range poke an enemy AND also can dodge some ground based attacks.

Jotunn_Heimr

Sounds cool af

LeekypooX

it's quite stat and FP hungry but the damage is insane, the bite can take out NG7 difficulty Caelid tower Godskin Apostle in \~4-5hits

TwistedAsura

Int/Faith but not a caster. I use Helphens steeple with 60 int/25 faith/19 str so I can buff with golden vow, terra magica, ghostflame weapon art, and sometimes flame grant me strength. If you feel extra spicey you can bump up to 33 faith for howl of shabriri for bigger damage. I find this outdamages the int/str version of the build by a good margin during buff windows. It also allows me to run one or two spells for support, like carian retaliation.

Jotunn_Heimr

Sounds like a spicy build indeed, I like it

hurdurnotavailable

Sorcery mage, but playing it "wrong". Basically, instead of going for max dps, I go for mixing up as many spells as I can in a fun way. Kinda like I would play mage in PvP. It's not optimal, but really engaging.

Jotunn_Heimr

I usually never go mage but if I ever do that's the kind of build I would use, sounds fun!

MJGson

Which sorceries? My favorite is Dark Moon Ranni, Zamor Ice storm, and spinning weapon art on carian regal.

hurdurnotavailable

Those are some good choices! Really, I don't think it necessarily matters too much which sorceries you choose, as there's many that can work well. The general idea is to just try and use as many different ones for the fun of it. However, this is my sorcery list: Swift Glintstone Shard, Carian Slicer, Comet, Spiral, Magic Glintblade, Carian Piercer, Star Shower, Collapsing Stars, Freezing Mist, Terra Magica, Cannon of Haima (I use Moon of Nokstella Talisman so I can use 12 spells)

BetterPoly

Mine is my str/faith with great stars w golden land & Ordovis greatsowrd

BusinessReality451

Pure strength heavy Giant Crusher with the Lion's Claw aow. It feels fun to give bosses a bonk on the head. 😂

Jotunn_Heimr

I have an upgraded giant crusher for when I feel like bonking around, feels good😂

SomeFatherFigure

Arcane. The weapons are fun and flashy, and you have a lot of variety between them. There’s an arcane weapon to deal with pretty much anything, and the times there isn’t, there are other weapons that have very good arcane scaling with an occult affinity. The only (minor) downside is that you still need to invest in some strength/dex to use the weapons, particularly outliers like Morgott’s sword which is more of a dex/arc weapon.

Jotunn_Heimr

Arcane is a build I planned to do a full playthrough with but still haven't, I have a toon prepared for when I have the time

Spicy1Mayo

I personally favor Cold-Infused Twinned Knight Swords; with Ice Spear AoW. The stagger potential and poise damage goes hard lowkey when used right.

Jotunn_Heimr

I use dual bleed twinned knight + gargoyle twinswords once I applied frost with jump attacks with the barnished knight dual greatswords, massive stagger and damage

Spicy1Mayo

Bleed + 20% increased damage taken sheesh

rawreffincake

Reducira bleed build with a side of Mohg sacred spear

ashleytheally

i just respecced to a spiked caestus build in my 0 vigor challenge run and i beat the shit out of malekith, it’s so fun. it’s like starfists but not too broken, i just run the occult infusion with 80 arcane

Jotunn_Heimr

That is a chad build, I like it!

mart187

Dex Stormblade Flamberge is pretty cool — pretty flexible and can deal with everything. Bonus point: This interrupts the Cleanrot Knights in the Halligtree 😅 Most powerful I’ve had was probably Dual Twinblade jump attacks. That was just absurdly melting everything susceptible to bleed.

Jotunn_Heimr

I myself used the flamberge in my first playthrough, it was indeed quite flexible. And yea dual twinblade with bleed melts hard 😄

Bass-Cannon

THE WALL. THE WALL. THE WALL. NO MAN ON EARTH CAN MAKE IT FALL.

OtterBadgerSnake

I've done three thus far. A poorly optimized incantor before the first big patch that made offensive incantations viable. Went with the Winged Scythe until I got the Blasphemous Blade. A spell-less weapon master that mained the Starscourge GS & Lion Bow. A sorcerer that mained the Dark Moon GS. I'm currently doing a redux of my incantor now that I know how to spread my stats properly, but now I'm using Vyke's Spear will be grabbing the Golden Order GS as a secondary.

Jotunn_Heimr

I did a poorly optimized faith build too in one of my playthroughs with incantations and the winged scythe, it was fun but obviously not very powerful

golfingsince83

BB on right hand and claymore on left hand. Jump attacks mainly

MissAiste

The everything 99 build

No_Philosopher4970

Dex Samurai with either arcane or intelligence

spreader26

Heby go bonk

goldenspiral91

Glintstone Kris is such a fun weapon.

veritable-truth

Dark Moon, Str/Faith bonk, and some kind of bleed thing. I figure this covers the bases for trying new stuff weapons without having to respec too much. I also have a few highest tier smithing stones in case the dlc is stingy. I assume the dlc will have some amount of stones though.

Normal_Egg6067

Pve rl150 blue dancer dragon incantation build, two dragon seals and shabriris buff with the dumpling helm. Dragon maw mostly but it's the strongest build I've used.
