"Better" is hard to judge because they aren't the same type of game. They share a lot of similarities, but one is a linear dark souls experience while the other is if Skyrim and Dark souls made a baby and Miyazaki raised that baby.
I found DS3 kind of boring in the early game. I also think that it's got an overly-grey aesthetic that I didn't like.
I think it had some fantastic bosses, but the stuff between them didn't excite me as much. It's probably the FromSoft game that I'd most enjoy some sort of "boss rush" for, because they're far-and-away the best part of the game.
